Class B North

No. 8 Middletown South 9, No. 10 Raritan 8

The Eagles (16-5) withstood a furious 5th inning rally from the Rockets (19-4) to capture the B North Division title. The Eagles led 9-3 before the Rockets cut the deficit to just one run in the top of the 5th inning. The Rockets would get just one baserunner the rest of the way on an error as the Eagles’ sophomore pitcher Riley Smith held strong to earn the win. Smith went 2 for 4 at the plate with an RBI. Sophomore SS Celia Collings hit an RBI single and scored a run. Freshman 3B Jordyn Cowell was 2 for 4 with a run. Junior RF Katie Cogger hit an RBI single. Sophomore C Nora Sarcone went 1 for 2 with a double, 2 walks, an RBI, and a run. Junior LF Charlotte Elsbree was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run. Senior CF Ella Gardner finished 2 for 3 and scored 2 runs.

Senior CF Julia DelMasto went 2 for 4 with a double, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs in the loss for the Rockets. Sophomore C Abigail Peter finished 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs and a run. Sophomore SS Holly Bellofatto went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Sophomore LF Madison Regiec was 2 for 3 with a double, a walk, and 2 runs.

 

Class B South

No. 9 Pinelands 9, Howell 8 (8 innings)

Trailing 8-7 in the bottom of the 8th inning with 2 outs and runners on 1st and 2nd, junior CF Jozyln Peterson hit a hard ground ball down the 1st base line into right field which scored two runs after an errant throw to home allowed the second runner to advance and score from 3rd. The walk off hit gave the Wildcats (17-4) the victory over the Rebels (12-10). The Wildcats tied the game up in the bottom of the 7th inning after trailing 7-5 on back-to-back RBI singles from junior 3B Audra Daniel and junior SS Madison Wilbert. Sophomore 1B Kendall Falduto finished 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, 2 RBIs and 3 runs. Senior pitcher Elianna Meola went 3 for 5 at the plate with a solo home run. Sophomore 2B Cassie Gould was 3 for 4 with an RBI and 2 runs. Daniel finished 2 for 4 with a double, an RBI, and a run. Wilbert finished 2 for 4 with an RBI. Freshman LF Brielle Hartley hit an RBI single and scored a run.

Senior catcher Jordan Sarka went 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs in the loss for the Rebels.

 

Wall 11, New Egypt 2

Tied 2-2 after the 4th inning, Wall scored five runs in the top of the 5th and added four more in top of the 6th to improve to 9-8 on the season. Brooke Roland went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and Molly Stopera went 3-for-4 with three RBIs for the Knights. Emily Gill struck out six batters to earn the victory and went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

 

Non-Conference

No. 3 St. John Vianney 5, Steinert 1

After giving up one run in the bottom of the 1st, SJV held Steinert scoreless to improve to 15-2 on the season. Madison McDougall struck out 10 batters on the mound and hit a home run in at the plate for the Lancers. Lexi Csontos drew two walks and scored on both of them and Gabby Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
