Junior pitcher Dani Rodriguez allowed just 1 hit in a 4-inning mercy rule victory for the Griffins (16-0) against Rancocas Valley (12-6). Senior Christina Ginex went 3 for 3 and smashed 2 home runs with 4 RBIs. Junior Caroline Kopp was 3 for 3 and crushed a home run and had 6 RBIs. Senior Olivia Kurth was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBIs.

No. 1 Donovan Catholic 13, Gloucester 3

Junior pitcher Gylian Hixenbaugh allowed 5 hits and 2 earned runs in 5 innings as the Griffins (17-0) won their second game of the day via mercy rule over Gloucester (7-4). Junior Caroline Kopp crushed a two-run home run. Sophomore Isabella Cino went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 RBIs, and 2 stolen bases. Senior Olivia Kurth finished 2 for 4 with a solo home run. Junior Jaelynn Nunez was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs.

No. 2 Red Bank Catholic 13, No. 10 Raritan 2 (5 innings)

Freshman pitcher Mackenna Savage struck out 6 batters and allowed 5 hits, 2 walks, and just 1 earned run as the Caseys (13-3) rolled past the Rockets (14-2). Senior Nicole Knox went 2 for 2 with a double, 3 RBIs, and 3 runs. Sophomore Grace Lombardi was 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs, and 3 stolen bases. Junior Jayden Kane hit a 2 RBI single. Junior Torri Case went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Sophomore Holly Bellofatto crushed a solo home run and sophomore Janelle Clausi hit an RBI single in the loss for the Rockets.

 

No. 4 Middletown North 8, Howell 4

Senior pitcher Madilynn Boyce struck out 16 batters and allowed 4 hits, 3 walks, and 2 earned runs as the Lions (8-7) topped the Rebels (7-6). Freshman Abby Esposito went 3 for 4 with a double and 4 RBIs. Boyce went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double, a walk, and 2 RBIs. Senior Hailey Keiser was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Boyce is just 6 strikeouts shy of 1,000 for her career.

Senior Emily Richards went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs in the loss for the Rebels.

 

St. Rose 8, Red Bank 2

 

New Egypt 15,  Shore 4 (6 Innings)

New Egypt’s bats came to life in a match-up against Central Jersey Group 1 rival Shore. The Warriors scored 15 runs on 18 hits to improve to 11-6 on the season. Megan Miller hit her 7th home run of the season and drove in two runs for New Egypt. Caroline Davis went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and Grace Seraphin went 3-for-3 with three doubles and three runs scored. Jackie Bowen struck out three batters in the win.

Olivia DeFonce went 2-for-3 with a double and run scored and Morgan Shaftel went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Shore.

Henry Hudson 23, Perth Amboy Magnet 3

 

No. 8 Middletown South 10, Old Bridge 9

Sophomore Riley Smith smashed a 3 run home run to lead the Eagles (11-3) past Old Bridge (7-11). Smith was also efficient on the mound as she struck out 14 batters and allowed 4 hits, 3 walks, and 1 run in 5.1 innings. Old Bridge scored 8 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning before sophomore reliever Celia Collings closed out the game in the 7th inning. Senior Aileen Henderson went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Junior Reilly Connolly was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Freshman Jordyn Cowell went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles, a walk, and 2 runs.
