Donovan Catholic (6-0) defeated Cedar Grove (4-1), the defending Group 1 state champions at the LaRezza Invitational. Four Griffins hit home runs including senior Gia Gordon, senior Olivia Kurth, junior Jaelynn Nunez, and sophomore Isabella Cino. Junior Isabella Maria finished 4 for 4 with 3 singles and a triple. Senior Gianna Apostolakos was 2 for 3 while senior Sophia Senger was 2 for 4. Junior pitcher Dani Rodriguez earned the win allowing just 1 run with 2 hits and a walk along with striking out 3 batters.
