Class A South

Toms River East 13, Jackson Memorial 3

Junior Addison Gallagher went 3 for 4 and smashed a home run and 2 doubles along with a walk while freshman Alexa DeMarco went 3 for 5 with a home run to lead Toms River East (3-4, 2-3) past Jackson Memorial (4-6, 1-5). Senior Adrianna Cruz went 2 for 4 with a walk and scored 2 runs. Sophomore Emma Eisman went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s. Sophomore pitcher Brielle Troy earned the win for the Raiders.

Central 4,  No. 5 Point Boro 1

Isabella Flora only allowed one run for Central to hand Point Boro their third loss of the week. Sianna Valverde went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and Jade Hahn went 1-for-1 with two RBIs for Central.

Danielle Maiorana went 2-for-3 at the plate for Point Boro.

 

Class B South

Howell 19, Toms River North 4

Howell jumped all over TRN with 16 runs in the first inning to improve to 4-2 on the season. Keira Murphy went 3-for-3 with a double and six RBIs and Madisyn Zito hit two home runs and added four RBIs. Zito also struck out four batters to earn the victory for Howell. Emily Richards went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored for the Rebels.

Wall 8, Manasquan 4

Wall scored three runs in the bottom of the first and added three runs in the bottom of the 5th on their way to their third win of the season. Emily Gill struck out 10 batters and did not allow an earned run for Wall. Gill also went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Ella Bramley hit a home run with two RBIs for the Knights. Mackenzie Williams drove in three runs with a single.

No. 10 Pinelands 16, New Egypt 4

 

Class C South

Barnegat 10, Toms River South 0

Gianna Gomez continues to dominate on the mound, pitching five perfect innings and striking out 10 batters to help Barnegat go to 8-3 on the season. Jadeyn Bodziak went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs and Riley Schmidt hit a double and scored three runs for Barnegat.

 

Manchester at Brick Memorial, 3:45 p.m.

 

Lacey 17, Point Beach 5

After scoring four runs in both the 1st and 2nd innings, Lacey scored six runs in the top of the 5th to seal their third win of the season. Nicole Scheper went 3-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs and Sophia Capone went 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored for Lacey.

Sydney Zylinski went 2-for-4 with a RBI for Point Beach.

 

Coastal

Jackson Liberty 15, Keyport 0

Jackson Liberty scored four runs in each of the first three innings to improve to 5-2 on the season. Caitlin Jefferson went 3-for-4 at the plate and Rebecca Galvin struck out 8 batters in the shutout for Jackson Liberty.

 

Nondivisional

Shore 18, Long Branch 0 (4 innings)

Sophomore pitcher Ayden Kampf struck out 7 batters, allowed 0 hits, and allowed just 2 runners on hit batters while senior pitcher Angela Christopher struck out 1 batter and allowed just 1 hit in a four-inning victory for Shore (6-2) over Long Branch (0-5). The Blue Devils combined for 18 hits. Kampf went 2 for 3 with a walk and 4 RBI’s at the plate. Christopher was 2 for 2 with 3 RBI’s. Sophomore Kelsey Orth was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s and a walk.

 

Freehold Township 13, Freehold Boro 6

 

Raritan 5, Manalapan 2

Freshman pitcher Kaetelyn Ruta struck out 8 batters, gave up 0 runs, and allowed 5 hits and a walk in 6 innings of action to help keep Raritan (6-0) unbeaten with a victory over Manalapan (6-3). Sophomore Janelle Clausi went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s. Freshman Brielle Brosonski hit an RBI double.

No. 7 Marlboro 8, No. 8 Middletown South 0

Junior pitcher Emily Gaudio struck out 9 batters and allowed just 3 hits and a walk in a shutout victory for Marlboro (4-4) over Middletown South (5-1). Sophomore Isabella Wuelfing went 3 for 4 with a triple, a double, an RBI, and 2 runs. Senior Jordan Chan was 1 for 1 with 2 RBI’s. Gaudio hit a double for an RBI at the plate.

 

Nonconference

Matawan 8, Woodbridge 3

Sophomore Elyssa Jamandron went 3 for 4 and scored 2 runs to lead Matawan (3-3) past Woodbridge (5-2). Senior Madeline DeChristopher went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Senior Isabelle Wiemer had a single and walked along with 3 RBI’s.
