Shore Conference Tournament
(18) New Egypt 10, (15) Matawan 5
With the game tied 2-2 after four innings, New Egypt scored seven runs in the top of the 5th inning to advance into the second round of the SCT. Samantha Potts went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Grace Seraphin went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for New Egypt. Jackie Bowen earned the victory for the Warriors.
Madeline DeChristopher went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and Elyssa Jamandron went 3-for-4 with two doubles for Matawan.
New Egypt will play the No. 2 seed St. John Vianney on Saturday.
(20) Central 12, (13) Brick Memorial 5
Trailing 3-2 after three innings, Central scored three runs in the top of the 4th inning and added seven more in the top of the 6th inning to pull off the biggest upset of the SCT. Faith Fisher went 2-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored and Jaelyn Witte went 2-for-4 with two runs scored for Central. Leah Bollettino went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Isabella Flora earned the win for Central. They will play the No. 4 seed Middletown North on Saturday in the second round.
(14) Holmdel 7, (19) Manalapan 1
Junior pitcher Julia Henderson struck out 12 batters and allowed just 5 hits and 1 run as the Hornets (11-5) defeated the Braves (10-8) to advance in the SCT. Senior Avery Lewandowski went 1 for 2 with 2 walks, 2 RBIs, and a run. Henderson went 3 for 4 at the plate. Freshman Ava Forsyth hit an RBI single, walked, and scored a run. Sophomore Natalie Clifford hit an RBI single, walked, and scored a run.
(12) Jackson Memorial 4, (21) Monmouth 1
Jackson Memorial broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 3rd inning with three runs and held Monmouth scoreless from the 2nd inning on to advance into the second round of the SCT. Emily Hersch, who pitched 9 shutout innings in the Ocean County Tournament final, came on in relief in the 3rd inning and pitched five shutout innings, striking out four batters to earn the win. Victoria Marconi drove in two runs on a line-drive single to center to break the tie for the Jaguars. Dominique Lopez went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Alexandra Santos collected her 100th career hit with a double.
Emma Riccardi went 2-fo-4 with two doubles for Monmouth.
Jackson Memorial will travel and play the No. 5 seed Colts Neck on Saturday.
(11) Barnegat 8, (22) Shore 2
Tied 2-2 after four innings, Barnegat scored six runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to advance into the second round of the SCT. Gianna Gomez did not allow an earned run and struck out 18 batters in the victory. Gomez also went 3-for-4 with a RBI and Brooke Rizzo went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored for Barnegat.
Kelsey Orth went 2-for-3 with a RBI for Shore.
Barnegat will play the No. 6 seed Southern in the second round.
(10) Pinelands 7, (23) Toms River East 0
Elianna Meola continues to roll, only allowing three hits in the complete game shutout to help Pinelands advance into the second round of the SCT. Meola also went 2-fo-4 at the plate with a double and two runs scored and Hanna Theuret went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs for the Wildcats. Pinelands will travel to play the No. 7 seed Middletown South in the second round.
(9) Marlboro 14, (24) Jackson Liberty 1
Marlboro’s bat went to work, scoring 11 runs in the first inning to cruise into the second round of the SCT. Emily Gaudio struck out 6 batters in three innings to earn the win and drove in a run at the plate. Sarah Huang went 2-for-3 with a triple, double, and four RBIs and Aimee Notaro went 2-for-4 with three runs scored for the Mustangs.
Marlboro will play No. 8 Raritan on Saturday.
(8) Raritan 7, (25) Trinity Hall 2
Freshman pitcher Katelyn Ruta struck out 5 batters and had one hit batter in 2-innings while sophomore pitcher Payton Fleming struck out 10 batters and allowed just 2 hits, 4 walks, and 2 runs in relief as the Rockets (16-2) topped the Monarchs (8-5) to advance in the SCT. Senior Julia DelMasto went 1 for 2 with 2 walks, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs. Freshman Lila Houlihan finished 3 for 3 with an RBI and a run. Sophomore Janelle Clausi was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI.
Class C North
St. Rose 22, Keansburg 7 (5 Innings)
St. Rose scored five runs in the top of the 1st inning and continued to add to it to win their 8th game of the season. Mikayla Herbert went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored and Gianna Lopez went 1-for-1 with three RBIs for St. Rose. Emily Torresdal struck out 11 batters on the mound and went 4-for-5 with two RBIs at the plate for the Purple Roses.

Nondivisional
Freehold Boro 11, Manchester 8
After giving up six runs in the top of the 1st and trailing 8-4 after the top of the 2nd inning, Freehold Boro battled back to win the non-divisonal battle. Angelina Ciesnicki went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs and Olivia Edmonds went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and three stolen bases for Freehold Boro.
Ocean 18, Point Beach 6 (6 Innings)
Ocean’s bats were hot against Point Beach, scoring in every inning and ending with 23 hits. Jillian Scotto went 3-for-5 with a home run and three runs scored and Ryleigh Cerco went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Every Ocean player had a hit in the game.
Bridget Kane went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for Point Beach.
No. 8 Middletown South 6, Red Bank Regional 1
Middletown South scored two runs in both of the 1st and 2nd inning and added two insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th to improve to 12-3 on the season. Celia Collings struck out 11 batters for the Eagles and went 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Riley Smith went 3-for-4 with a double and RBI for Middletown South.
Howell 12, Freehold Township 0 (5 innings)
Senior pitcher Lydia Ziegler struck out 2 batters and allowed just 1 hit and a walk in 4 innings while Hannah Bowers struck out 3 batters and allowed a walk in 1 inning as the Rebels (8-7) defeated the Patriots (3-11). Senior Keira Murphy went 2 for 4 as she crushed a home run and a triple finishing with 3 RBIs and a run. Senior Madisyn Zito was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a run. Junior Madison Winemiller hit a 2 RBI double. Senior Emma DePeppo hit a 2 RBI single.
