Class A North
No. 3 Red Bank Catholic 5, No. 1 St. John Vianney 3 (10 Innings)
The Caseys broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the top of the 10th inning to hand SJV their first loss in the Shore Conference since the Shore Conference Tournament Final on 5/19/23 to Donovan Catholic. Lily Hagan struck out eight batters over 10 innings for the win. Freshman Mackenna Savage went 4-for 6 with a triple and run scored and Brianna Santangelo went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and two RBIs for RBC. Grace Lombardi also had three hits and drove in two runs.
Class A South
No. 9 Southern 12, Central o
After scoring one run in the first inning, Southern added seven in the bottom of the second to improve to 4-3 on the season. Emily Evans pitched a one-hit shutout with six strike outs and she drove in three runs at the plate. Emily Zellman went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Kayla Riley drove in three runs on two hits for Southern.
Toms River East 8, No. 5 Point Boro 6
No. 2 Donovan Catholic 16, Jackson Memorial 3
After being shutout in the first inning, Donovan scored 16 runs over the next six innings to improve to 7-0 on the season. Sophia Senger went 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs and Olivia Kurth drove in four runs on four hits for the Griffins. Gylian Hixenbaugh earned the victory, striking out three batters over four innings.
Alexandra Santos hit a home run and had two RBIs for the Jaguars.
Class B North
No. 8 Middletown South 16, Freehold Boro 5
Riley Smith struck out 15 batters and did not allow an earned run to lead Middletown South to their fourth win of the season. Smith also went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs and Jordyn Cowell went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs for the Eagles. Madison Moran added two runs and batted in three runs on two hits.
Esmerelda Pantoja went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Freehold Boro.
Class B South
Wall 4, Howell 1
Senior pitcher Emily Gill struck out 9 batters and allowed just 1 earned run, 2 hits, and 2 walks in a complete game. Freshman Essie Harr went 1 for 2 with a walk and 2 RBI’s. Senior Molly Stopera recorded a single and 2 RBI’s. Senior Emma Bramley hit 2 for 3 and scored a run.
Class C South
Lacey 6, Manchester 4
Senior Samatha Kohout went 3 for 4 with an RBI and scored 2 runs to lead Lacey past Manchester. Senior Grace Laird batted in 2 runs on a single. Senior Nicole Scheper went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a walk. Senior pitcher Julia Kovacs earned the win after allowing 3 earned runs and striking out 7 batters.
Manchester freshman Riley Cribbin went 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBI’s in the loss for the Hawks.
Brick Memorial 10, Toms River South 8
After leading 6-1 going into the top of the 6th inning, Brick Memorial responded to TRS’s seven runs in the top of the inning by scoring four runs in the bottom of the 6th win their 5th game of the season. Emma Naples went 4-for-4 with five RBIs and Maggie Leach went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Mustangs.
Abby Wilber went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs for TRS.
Barnegat 12, Point Beach 0
Barnegat scored four runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and added eight runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to improve to 7-3 on the season. Gianna Gomez struck out 14 batters and only allowed one hit in the victory and went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI at the plate. Riley Schmidt went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored and Brooke Rizzo had two hits and three runs scored for Barnegat.
Nondivisional
Holmdel 10, Ocean 0 (5 innings)
Junior pitcher Julia Henderson struck out 10 batters and allowed just 2 hits to lead Holmdel to a 10 run victory over Ocean. Senior Avery Lewandowski went 1 for 3 with a home run, 3 RBI’s, and a walk. Junior Delaney Savage had 2 RBI’s.
Raritan 10, Shore 0
Freshman pitcher Lila Houlihan earned the win after pitching 6 innings and allowing just 1 hit and 5 walks. Houlihan was also 2 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBI’s. Sophomore Holly Bellofatto went 2 for 5 with 2 RBI’s while freshman Brielle Brosonski went a perfect 4 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI’s. Leadoff hitter senior Julia DelMasto finished 2 for 5 with a double and scored 2 runs.
St. Rose 10, Keansburg 0 (5 innings)
Junior pitcher Emily Torresdal threw a 5 inning no-hitter to lead St. Rose past Keansburg. Torresdal struck out 12 batters and walked just 1 batter. Junior Stevie Greco was 3 for 3 at the plate with an RBI. Junior Bridget Taylor went 1 for 2 with a walk and 2 RBI’s in the win for the Purple Roses.
Monmouth 15, Manalapan 3
Monmouth scored eight runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning on their way to winning their fourth game of the season. Freshman Samantha Mahoney struck out three batters to win her fourth game of the season and drove in two runs at the plate. Layla Yamello went 4-for-4 with a double and two runs scored and Erin Clancey went 2-for-4 with a home run and RBI for Monmouth.
Red Bank Regional 12, Rumson-Fair Haven 2
Tied 2-2 going into the bottom of the 4th inning, Red Bank scored nine runs to improve to 3-2 on the season. Hannah Smolinski went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored and Camryn Colaizzo went 2-for-2 with two runs scored for Red Bank. Chelsea Langa struck out four batters in the victory.
No. 10 Pinelands 10, Toms River North 4
Pinelands bats continue to stay hot as they improved to 8-0 on the season. Cassie Gould went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three stolen bases and Audra Daniel went 3-for-4 with a run scored. Elianna Meola and Kendall Falduto both drove in two runs for Pinelands.
Camryn Lynch went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Toms River North.
