Class A North
No. 3 St. John Vianney 12, No. 7 Colts Neck 1
The Lancers scored 10 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and added two more in the 4th to improve to 6-1 on the season. Mia Favato went 2-for-3 with two doubles and four runs batted it and Olivia Lombardi went 2-for-2 with two runs scored for SJV. Madison McDougall struck out seven batters over five innings to earn the win and drove in a run at the plate.
Gabriella Bryce went 1-for-3 with a home run for Colts Neck.
No. 4 Middletown North 2, No. 5 Marlboro 1
Senior pitcher Madilynn Boyce struck out 10 batters and allowed just 4 hits, 1 walk, and 1 earned run in a complete game win for Middletown North (6-3, 4-2) against Marlboro (6-5, 2-5). Senior Hailey Keiser went 2 for 3 with a double and scored a run. Boyce went 1 for 3 with a single and scored a run in the win for the Lions.
No. 2 Red Bank Catholic 16, Freehold Township 0
Senior pitcher Lily Hagan and freshman pitcher Mackenna Savage combined to strike out 11 batters and allow just 1 hit and 2 walks in a 4-inning shut out win for Red Bank Catholic (7-1, 7-0) over Freehold Township (1-8, 0-7). Hagan struck out 8 batters and allowed 1 hit and 1 walk in 3 innings while Savage struck out 3 batters and walked 1 batter. Junior Jayden Kane had a terrific day at the plate going 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double totaling 7 RBIs. Senior Nicole Knox went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 1 RBI. Savage went 3 for 3 with a solo home run. Sophomore Grace Lombardi went 3 for 4 with a triple, a double, and 2 RBIs in the win for the Caseys.
Class A South
No. 1 Donovan Catholic 15, Toms River East 0 (5 innings)
Sophomore pitcher Gylian Hixenbaugh and senior pitcher Sophia Senger combined to throw a 5 inning 1-hitter as Donovan Catholic (9-0, 6-0) cruised by Toms River East (3-6, 2-4). Hixenbaugh struck out 4 batters and allowed 1 hit and no walks in 3 innings while Senger struck out 1 batter and allowed no hits or walks in 2 innings. Junior Jaelynn Nunez went yard with a grand slam. Junior Caroline Kopp also hit a home run. Senger went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs at the plate in the win for the Griffins.
Class B North
No. 10 Raritan 17, Freehold Boro 5
Leading 7-4 after four innings, Raritan scored 10 runs in the top of the 5th to improve to 9-0 on the season. Lila Houlihan struck out eight batters over four innings for the win and she went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs for the Rockets. Holly Bellofatto went 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBIs and Madison Regiec drove in three runs with a home run and triple.
Ashley Koppelman went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored for Freehold Boro.
Matawan 10, No. 8 Middletown South 4
Matawan scored four runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and added three in both the 3rd and 4th inning to hand Middletown South their second loss of the season. Sienna Cali went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Emma Kriegstein drove in two runs on a double for Matawan. Isabelle Wiemer also had two hits and scored three times for Matawan.
Ella Gardner went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base for Middletown South.
Holmdel 5, Monmouth 4
Leading 2-1 going into the top of the 6th inning, Holmdel gave up three runs but responded with three runs of their own in the bottom of the 6th inning to improve to 5-3 on the season. Julia Henderson struck out 11 batters in the victory. Molly Debias went 4-for-4 with a run scored and Emma Vanario drove in two run son two hits and scored two runs for Holmdel.
Erin Clancey hit her fourth home run of the season and drove in two runs for Monmouth.
Class C North
Ocean 6, St. Rose 5
Ocean built a 5-0 lead over the first two innings and was able to hold off St. Rose’s rally in the 6th to improve to 3-5 on the season. Nathalie Staten went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Cassandra Foley went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Colleen Zdan struck out four batters in the victory and went 4-for-4 at the plate for Ocean.
Emily Torresdal struck out 15 batters for St. Rose and went 2-for 4 with a RBI. Taylor Chapoutut went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Manalapan at Keansburg, 4 p.m.
Class C South
Barnegat 3, Lacey 0
Sophomore pitcher Gianna Gomez struck out 16 batters and allowed 4 hits and 2 walks in Barnegat’s (10-3, 6-1) shutout victory over Lacey (3-7, 3-3). Senior Avalyn Leach went 2 for 3 with an RBI, a run, and a stolen base. Freshman Brooke Rizzo and junior Riley Schmidt each hit an RBI double in the win for the Bengals.
Coastal
Brick 15, Lakewood 0 (4 innings)
Junior pitcher Sicilia Booker struck out 9 batters and allowed just 1 hit and a walk in Brick’s (4-4, 4-2) shutout win against Lakewood (0-7, 0-5). Senior Adriana Buonacore went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, and 2 walks. Junior Elizabeth Kecskes went 1 for 2 with a 2 run double and a HBP. The Dragons combined for 20 stolen bases in the win.
Non-Divisional
Shore 20, Rumson-Fair Haven 3
After being held to one run in their previous game, Shore Regional’s bats came to life scoring 20 runs on 16 hits to improve to 7-3 on the season. Olivia DeFonce went 3-for-4 and connected on her third home run of the season and drove in six runs for the Blue Devils. Peyton Waterman went 3-for-3 with a home run and four runs scored and Angela Christopher went 3-for-4 wiht two doubles and three stolen bases. Dylann Lawrence struck out four batters over five innings to earn the win.
Reyna Dermer went 1-for-2 with two RBIs an d Julia Funck hit a double and scored a run for Rumson.
