No. 8 Middletown South 4, Holmdel 3

Sophomore pitcher Riley Smith struck out 12 batters and allowed 6 hits, a walk, and 1 earned run as the Eagles (15-5) edged past the Hornets (11-7). Sophomore Celia Collings went 2 for 3 with a triple, an RBI, and a run. Senior Ella Gardner, sophomore Reagan Heaney, and freshman Jordyn Cowell each hit an RBI single.

 

Class C North

Henry Hudson at Ocean, 6:30 p.m.

Manalapan 16, Keansburg 0 (4 Innings)

 

Coastal

Red Bank 12, Long Branch 0 (5 innings)

Red Bank scored nine runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and added one in the third and two in the 4th to win their 12th game of the year. Hannah Smolinski went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored and Brooke Gasperino went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for Red Bank.

Neptune 15, Keyport 5 (6 Innings)

 

 

Nondivisional

Raritan 8, Point Beach 0

Sophomore pitcher Abigail Rehfeld threw a no-hitter with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks as the Rockets (18-3) shutout the Garnet Gulls (4-15). Rehfeld was equally as impressive at the plate as she went 4 for 4 with a double, 4 RBIs, and a stolen base. Sophomore Payton Fleming hit a 2 RBI single in her lone at bat. Sophomore Abigail Peter finished 1 for 2 with an RBI single. Sophomore Madison Regiec hit a triple.

Shore 11, Lacey 6

The Blue Devils (15-7) shelled the Lions (10-9) with 2 home runs on their way to victory. Senior Angela Christopher went 1 for 2 with a home run, 2 walks, 1 HPB, 4 RBIs, 3 runs, and a stolen base. Sophomore Ayden Kampf was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, a walk, 3 RBIs, and a run.

Middletown North 12, Barnegat 1 (5 innings)

Senior pitcher Madilynn Boyce struck out 10 batters and allowed 5 hits and 3 walks as the Lions (11-10) cruised past the Bengals (17-6).

Colts Neck 11, Manasquan 6

Junior SS Gabriella Bryce went 2 for 3 with a home run, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs as the Cougars (12-9) topped the Warriors (4-12). Senior Daniela Baio was 2 for 3 with a walk, an RBI, a stolen base, and a run.

Toms River South 8, St. Rose 2

Jackson Liberty 7, Manchester 4

Point Boro 5, Howell 4 (8 innings)

After allowing Howell to tie the game with three runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, Point Boro scored one run in the top of the 8th to win their 9th game of the year. Dakota Palmieri, who went 4-for-5, singled in the game winning run for the Panthers. She also struck out 8 batters on the mound. Jadyn Clayton also went 4-for-5 with a run scored and Ashley Palmieri went 3-for-5 with three runs scored for Point Boro.

Kennedy Brennan went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for Howell.

No. 3 St. John Vianney 12, Wall 0 (5 Innings)

SJV scored four runs in the 1st and added five more in the second before scoring their last three in the 3rd to win their 14th game of the season. Madison McDougall retired 15 out of the 16 batters she faced, only allowing one batter to reach on a hit-by-pitch and struck out 12 hitters. Brynn Utter hit her third home run of the year and drove in three runs and Gabby Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Mia Favato went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles with three runs scored and Elisabeth Figliolino went 3-for-4 for the Lancers.

 

 

Nonconference

Donovan Catholic 5, Kingsway 2

Senior Sophia Senger crushed a walk-off 3 run shot in the bottom of the 7th inning to break a 2-2 tie and allow the Griffins (22-1) to hand the Dragons (20-1) their first loss of the season. Junior Isabella Maria went 2 for 4 with a double and a run. Senior Christina Ginex was 2 for 4 with a run. Sophomore pitcher Gylian Hixenbaugh remained steady as she struck out 6 batters and allowed 6 hits, 2 walks, and 1 earned run the victory.

Westampton Tech 10, New Egypt 9
