USA Softball NJ Shore Conference Softball Scoreboard Wednesday, April 30

 

Class A North

No. 3 St. John Vianney 13, No. 2 Red Bank Catholic 3 (6 Innings)

The Lancers bats exploded for seven runs in the top of the 4th inning to revenge there 10 inning loss to RBC on 4/15. Mia Favato opened the inning with a solo home run and later had a sac fly to score another run in the inning. Brynn Utter hit a 2-run home run and drew a walk later in the inning to earn her third RBI of the inning. Madison McDougall earned the win with one strike out but drove in three runs and had a 2-run double in the 6th inning.

 

No. 7 Colts Neck 4, Middletown North 0 

Colts Neck scored three runs in the bottom of the 3rd and added another in the 6th to improve to 5-7 on the season. Angela Sasso only allowed two hits and struck out 9 batters and drove in a run at the plate for Colts Neck. Gabrielle Bryce went 3-for-3 with a RBI for Colts Neck.

 

Freehold Township 10,  No. 5 Marlboro 3

The Patriots bats came alive in the 4th inning as they turned a 3-1 deficit into a 5-3 lead before adding 3 more runs in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th on their way to their first victory within the rugged Class A North. Senior Lauren Soto finished 4 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Sophomore Grace Grimaldi went 1 for 3 with a walk and 2 RBIs. Freshman Samantha Costa had an RBI single. Sophomore pitcher Kiana DeMonte struck out 2 batters, allowed 6 hits, 2 walks, and 3 earned runs in the win.

 

Class B North

No. 8 Middletown South 12, Freehold Boro 6

Middletown South scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to seal their 10th win of the season. Celia Collings struck out 10 batters to earn the victory. Ciara Sparandero went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs and Ella Gardner went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for the Eagles.

Paige Sheridan hit a double and drove three runs in and Katherine Martin had one hit and drove two runs in for Freehold Boro.

 

No. 10 Raritan 4, Holmdel 3

 

Matawan 4, Monmouth 3

 

Class C North

Shore 12, St. Rose 11

After giving up their 10-5 lead in the top of the 7th inning, Shore Regional scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th to improve to 11-4. Olivia DeFonce went 1-for-2 with a home run and three runs scored and Ayden Kampf went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Shore Regional. Dylann Lawrence drove in three runs including the game winner with a 2-out single. Lawrence also earned the win in relief. Kampf struck out 7 hitters in the start.

Emily Torresdal struck out 10 batters for St. Rose  and drove in a run. Gianna Rivera went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and Mikayla Herbert went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Rumson-Fair Haven 14, Henry Hudson 8

Trailing 6-1 in the third inning, Rumson scored 8 runs to take the lead and added five more runs later in the game to improve to 5-7. Mia Missig struck out 11 batters to earn the win for the Bulldogs. Evelyn Chubrik went 3-for-4 with four runs scored, four RBIs and three stolen bases to lead Rumson. Julia Funck and Caitlin Bush both drove in two runs for the Bulldogs.

Freshman Leah Curry went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Henry Hudson.

 

Ocean at Keansburg, 4 p.m.

 

Coastal

Long Branch at Lakewood, 4 p.m.

Keyport at Trinity Hall, 4 p.m.

Jackson Liberty 12, Brick Township 3

Kaylee Cavallo went 2-for 4 with a triple, double and three RBIs and Jules Georgiano went 2-for-5 with a home run to lead Jackson Liberty. Rebecca Galvin struck out 8 batters in the victory for the Lions. Ava Bocchiaro scored four times on five walks.

Sicilia Booker struck out 11 batters for Brick and Adriana Buonacore went 3-for-4 with a RBI.

 

Nondivisional

Point Beach 16, Neptune 1 (4 Innings)

After scoring eight runs in the first two innings, Point Beach secured the win with 8 more runs in the 3rd inning to win their 3rd game of the season. Bridget Kane went 1-for-1 with three runs scored and two RBIs and Olivia D’Erasmo drove in three runs for Point Beach. Gia Gates struck out five batters to earn the win.

Howell 14, Central 4

After allowing Central to tie the game with four runs in the bottom of the 2nd, Howell scored three in the top of the 3rd and three in the 5th to secure their 7th win of the season. Kiera Murphy went 3-for-5 and hit her 5th home run of the season and drove in four runs and Emily Richards connected on her 6th home run and drove in two runs for the Rebels.

Kayla Rasmussen had a single and two RBIs to lead Central.
