2025 Shore Sports Insider All-Shore Boys Lacrosse Teams
FIRST TEAM
Attack – Brandon Kunz, Sr., Manasquan

The 2025 Shore Sports Insider Offensive Player of the Year, Kunz was sixth in the Shore Conference in scoring with career-highs of 65 goals, 29 assists, and 94 points to help lead Manasquan to its first state championship. The Warriors defeated Hopewell Valley, 13-5, to win the NJSIAA Group 2 title. A crafty dodger and dynamic shooter, the Lehigh signee was at his best in Manasquan’s biggest games. He scored 12 goals and added four assists in three Shore Conference Tournament games, including a title-game record seven goals in a 15-14 overtime loss to Rumson-Fair Haven. In the state playoffs, Kunz scored 16 goals and dished out nine assists in five games as the Warriors won their first state title in program history. He added seven goals and three assists in two Kirst Cup games — a win over Glen Ridge and an 8-6 loss to state No. 1 Seton Hall Prep. He recorded multiple points in 21 of 24 games and had 17 multi-goal games. Additionally, he was selected as a USA Lacrosse All-American. A four-year starter who was also a key player on Manasquan’s state championship basketball team and a starter for the Warriors’ soccer team, Kunz finished his career with 281 points — 14th all-time in Shore Conference history — on 173 goals and 108 assists.
Attack – Ryan Aldi, Sr., Manasquan

Another big-time scoring threat for the Group 2 champion Warriors, Aldi turned in a career-best season with 58 goals and 27 assists for 85 points, the 11th-highest total in the Shore. The Bentley College commit scored 16 goals and added six assists in five NJSIAA Tournament games, including a season-high five goals and seven points in a sectional semifinal win over Allentown. He also had seven points in a regular-season win over Holmdel. Aldi scored multiple goals in 19 of 24 games, including four goals and one assist in a 13-5 win over Hopewell Valley in the Group 2 state final. He finished his career with 193 points on 133 goals and 60 assists.
Attack – Luke Lydon, Jr., Rumson-Fair Haven

Lydon was Rumson-Fair Haven’s leading scorer by posting a career-high 69 points on 53 goals and 16 assists, reaching 100 goals and 150 career points in the process. The Boston University commit recorded multiple points in 18 of 19 games and scored multiple goals in 16 of 19 games. Lydon was great in the postseason with 13 goals and three assists in three Shore Conference Tournament games, including four goals in the SCT final when Rumson rallied for an epic 15-14 overtime win over Manasquan for the program’s 10th conference title. He then added 10 goals and four assists in three state tournament games. Lydon was selected as a USA Lacrosse All-American this season. He will enter his senior season with 133 goals and 180 points.
Midfield – Matt Schneider, Sr., Manasquan

Schneider’s breakout season was a major reason why Manasquan was able to win the Group 2 championship for its first state title in program history. The 6-foot-3 midfielder more than doubled his previous career-high by scoring 43 goals and adding 22 assists for 65 points. He scored multiple goals in 14 of 24 games, including a career-high four goals in a regular-season win over Wall. He netted three goals and two assists in the state final when Manasquan beat Hopewell Valley, 13-5, to secure the state crown. He then tallied two goals and three assists when the Warriors rallied for a 15-10 win over Group 1 champion Glen Ridge in the Kirst Cup quarterfinals, and scored once in an 8-6 loss to No. 1 Seton Hall Prep in the semifinals. Schneider concluded his high school career with 71 goals and 47 assists for 118 points. He will continue his lacrosse career at Monmouth University.
Midfield – Tucker Malfa, Sr., Shore

A USA Lacrosse All-American and a First Team All-American Division selection by the SCLCA, Malfa scored 42 goals and added 13 assists to help lead the Blue Devils to one of the best seasons in program history. Shore went 12-6, reached the semifinals of the Shore Conference Tournament and finished fourth in the SSI final top 10. In the regular season, the Blue Devils defeated Rumson-Fair Haven for the first time in program history with Malfa scoring two goals and one assist. He posted 15 multi-point games and scored multiple goals in 13 of 18 games. He delivered a career-high five goals in an 11-10 regular-season win over Wall. Shore reached the South Group 1 sectional semifinals where it was eliminated by eventual Group 1 champion Glen Ridge. Malfa will continue his career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Midfield – Michael Hoarle, Sr., Wall

Hoarle missed nearly all of his junior season with a shoulder injury, and although he did not return to the face-off X as a senior, he was back on the field for the Crimson Knights in a big way this spring. Hoarle, who is signed to Bryant University, set career-highs in goals (51), assists (37), and points (88) while picking up 117 ground balls. He was previously one of the top FOGOs in the Shore winning 69% percent of face-offs. He took face-offs in only one game this season, going 10-for-14 against Manasquan in the South Group 2 sectional final. Hoarle recorded multiple points in 17 of 23 games, including a career-high 10 points in a win over Red Bank. He scored a career-high six goals in a win over Mainland and scored four or more goals eight times. He was a major reason why the Crimson Knights reached a sectional final and finished No. 8 in the SSI Top 10.
SSDM – Kai Donahue, Sr., Manasquan

Donohue blossomed into an indispensable player for the Warriors’ with his two-way play, especially in the defensive end where Manasquan could rely on him to handle multiple responsibilities. Donohue was great on clears and played a key role in Manasquan’s lethal transition game, which helped the Warriors win the NJSIAA Group 2 state title and finish No. 1 in the SSI Top 10. He also saw plenty of run in the offensive end and finished with 22 goals and 11 assists. He scored a career-high four points in a regular-season win over Southern and had nine multi-point games. Donahue will continue his career at Montclair State University.
Face-off specialist – Jack Powers, Sr., Holmdel

Powers concluded his record-setting career with the most face-off wins in state history at 1,129. This season, he finished tied for the top spot in the conference with a 76% winning percentage at the X, and his 189 ground balls were the second-most in the Shore. He added three goals and two assists, including a career-high one goal and two assists in a one-goal loss to Shore. For his career, Powers was 1,129 for 1,625 for a 69% win rate. Additionally, he was named a USA Lacrosse Academic All-American.
Defense – Frank Argilagos, Sr., Rumson-Fair Haven

The Shore Sports Insider Most Valuable Player, Argilagos was also voted as the conference Player of the Year by the Shore Conference Lacrosse Coaches Association and was selected as a USA Lacrosse All-American. A sturdy close defender with the skill and athleticism to defend on the perimeter and run transition, Argilagos helped the Bulldogs win the Shore Conference Tournament title for the 10th time in program history and advance to the South Group 2 sectional semifinals. Rumson’s defense allowed just 7.1 goals per game. He finished the season with 54 ground balls and three goals. Argilagos was also a key leader for Rumson on the field and in the locker room. It was an up-and-down season for the Bulldogs, who suffered a pair of three-game losing streaks but were able to rebound to earn a key win over Manasquan late in the regular season. That began a string of seven straight victories, including a dramatic 15-14 overtime win over Manasquan in the SCT championship game. Argilagos finished his career with 86 ground balls and eight goals in two years as a starter. He will continue his career at Dartmouth College.
Defense – Quinn Kelly, Sr., CBA

The 2025 Shore Sports Insider Defensive Player of the Year, Kelly concluded a stellar career by leading the Colts to the Shore Conference Tournament semifinals and to the No. 3 ranking in the final SSI Top 10. With a roster loaded with freshmen and sophomores, especially on the offensive end, CBA needed its defense to lead the way. Kelly spearheaded a unit that allowed 6.8 goals per game against a schedule that included two state champions and high-caliber out-of-state competition. He picked up a team-high 90 ground balls and remained an offensive threat with seven goals and 11 assists. He picked up 11 ground balls and scored a goal in a 6-5 overtime win over Rumson-Fair Haven. In wins over Middletown South and Wall, he tallied two goals, two assists, and four ground balls in each game. In a 7-6 overtime win over Brophy Prep (AZ), Kelly collected 10 ground balls and dished out two assists. A First Team All-American Division selection by the SCLCA, Kelly was also selected as a USA Lacrosse All-American and to play in the New Balance All-America Senior Game on July 26. He will continue his career at Harvard University.
Defense – Parker Harms, Sr., Manasquan

One of the top all-around defenseman in New Jersey and a 2025 USA Lacrosse All-American, Harms’ play was a major reason why Manasquan went 20-4 and won the NJSIAA Group 2 state championship for the first time in program history. He led a Warriors’ defense that allowed just 5.5 goals per game, excelling while matched up against the opponent’s top offensive threats. When Manasquan pushed transition, Harms was usually involved. He finished with 13 goals and nine assists for a career-high 22 points. He had four multi-point games, including a career-best four goals and one assist in a 17-3 win over Allentown in the South Group 2 sectional semifinals. Harms will continue his career at Villanova University.
LSM – Marcus Cermele, Jr., Holmdel

Cermele followed up a standout sophomore year with an excellent season this spring. The versatile long pole continued his strong defensive play while taking his offensive game to another level with 19 goals and 14 assists. He also picked up 107 ground balls. A weapon in transition who also played man-up and in settled 6-on-6 sets, Cermele had 10 multi-point games and 10 games with six or more ground balls. He scored a career-high five goals and added one assist vs. Middletown South, and also had a big day in a one-goal win over Manalapan with a goal, two assists, and 12 ground balls. Cermele was a First Team All-American Division selection by the SCLCA.
Goalie – Pat Loxley, Sr., Manasquan
*Specialist of the Year*

In his first and only season as Manasquan’s starting goalie, Loxley, the 2025 Shore Sports Insider Specialist of the Year, was excellent in backstopping the Warriors to the NJSIAA Group 2 state championship for the first time in program history. He sat behind last year’s All-Shore goalie and USA Lacrosse All-American Nick Bounasi for two seasons before getting his chance, and immediately asserted himself as a top-flight stopper. Loxley finished sixth in the conference with a 65.1% save percentage and was fourth with 237 saves, all while facing stellar competition. He allowed just 4.5 goals per game. He recorded double-digit saves in 16 of 24 games, including a career-high 19 in a regular-season win over Southern. Loxley was excellent in big games with 11 saves against Wall in the South Group 2 sectional final and 10 in the Group 2 state final versus Hopewell Valley, 13 saves in a Kirst Cup quarterfinal win over Group 1 champ Glen Ridge, and 17 saves in a remarkable performance during an 8-6 loss to No. 1 Seton Hall Prep in the Kirst Cup semifinals. Loxley will play collegiately at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Coach of the Year – Gregg Malfa, Shore

The 2025 Shore Sports Insider Boys Lacrosse Coach of the Year, Malfa was also selected as the conference Coach of the Year by the Shore Conference Lacrosse Coaches Association. Shore authored one of the best seasons in program history under the direction of the 14th-year coach, finishing fourth in the SSI Top 10 and reaching the Shore Conference Tournament semifinals. During the regular season, the Blue Devils defeated Rumson-Fair Haven, 10-8, for their first win over the Bulldogs in program history. Shore finished 12-6 with all of its losses coming to teams that were ranked in the state top 20 at least once during the season (South Group 4 semifinalist Eastern, Group 2 champion Manasquan, Christian Brothers Academy, Rumson-Fair Haven, Bridgewater-Raritan, and Group 1 champion Glen Ridge. Shore averaged 10.5 goals per game and allowed 7.2 goals per game. Highlight wins for the Blue Devils included victories over Rumson, Greater Middlesex Conference runner-up East Brunswick, Red Bank, South Group 4 finalist Southern, Holmdel, Wall and South Group 3 semifinalist Toms River East.
