Central Jersey Group 3

Semifinals

(6) Red Bank 42, (2) Neptune 24

Senior guards Synai Blychanton and Riley Wheeler each scored a game-high 11 points as the Bucs (14-12) knocked off the Scarlet Fliers (18-4) to avenge last season’s sectional final loss and advance to the sectional final once again. Wheeler had a strong game from beyond the arc finishing with three treys. Senior guard Kristen Connors knocked down two three-pointers and finished with six points. Senior guard Zoey Gulley chipped in five points.

Junior guard Lana Ellington scored a team-high nine points in the loss. Senior guard Majiah Quarles added eight points.

Red Bank will travel to (1) Colts Neck in the sectional final on Saturday.

Neptune will graduate two seniors in Majiah Quarles and Ke’Ziha Pinnock. The Scarlet Fliers are projected to return several impact players next year including senior forward Tyeera Howard who missed the latter half of the season with a knee injury.

Sophomore guard Allison McAndrew scored a game-high 15 points as the Cougars (22-6) defeated the Blue Devils (17-9) to advance to the sectional final. Junior Mattilyn Caffiero and sophomore Emily Donahue each added nine points.

Colts Neck will host (6) Red Bank in the sectional final on Saturday.

South Jersey Group 3

Semifinals

(2) Moorestown 45, (6) Toms River East 32

Senior guard Analyse Intenzo poured in a game-high 19 points as the Quakers (20-9) eliminated the Raiders (15-13). Senior guard Julia Blong and junior forward Elyse Anstey each added nine points.

Junior guard Libby Dickman scored a team-high 14 points in the loss. Junior guard Kacey Briles finished with 11 points.

Toms River East graduates four seniors including Jillian Fitzgibbons but returns most of their core including Dickman, Briles, sophomores Ciley Francis and Brooke Gathman, and junior Kylie Paladino.
