Semifinals

2-Manasquan 9, 3-CBA 7

Junior midfielder Jack O’Reilly scored the go-ahead goal with 53.3 seconds left in regulation and senior midfielder Matt Schneider added an empty-net insurance goal with 32.7 seconds remaining as the Warriors rallied from a one-goal deficit entering the fourth quarter to defeat the Colts and return to the SCT championship game.

Manasquan (14-2) led 4-3 at halftime on goals by O’Reilly, junior midfielder Lucas Longo, senior attackman Brandon Kunz and sophomore attackman Kieran Schneider. CBA scored the only two goals of the third quarter with freshmen Jackson Chaney and Danny Varone finding the back of the net to give the Colts (11-9) a 5-4 lead heading to the fourth quarter. Manasquan senior midfielder Kai Donohue tied the score 5-5 less than a minute into the fourth and Kunz scored 45 seconds later to put Manasquan ahead, 6-5. CBA answered on a goal by sophomore midfielder Christian Fox, but Manasquan came right back when senior defenseman Parker Harms scored off the ensuing face-off.

CBA responded yet again when senior midfielder Davis Campbell tied the score 7-7 with 3:33 left. Manasquan called a timeout with 1:21 on the clock and Reilly delivered the game-winning goal after the restart, putting Manasquan into the SCT final for the third straight year and ninth time in program history.

O’Reilly and Kunz each scored twice and senior goalie Pat Loxley made nine saves, including his 200th career stop, to lead Manasquan. Matt Schneider finished with a goal and an assist while Longo, Donahue, Harms, and Kieran Schneider each scored once.

Campell led CBA with two goals and junior goalie Shayne Boresen made seven saves. Chaney, Varone, Fox, senior attackman Carter McGuire, and sophomore attackman Turner Cooke each scored once for the Colts.

Manasquan will play top-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven on Monday afternoon at Monmouth University.

 

1-Rumson-Fair Haven 16, 4-Shore 7

Junior attackman Luke Lydon scored the game-tying and go-ahead goals in the third quarter to fuel a surge of 10 unanswered goals when the Bulldogs (12-8) jolted the Blue Devils (11-4) to reach the SCT final for the 15th time in program history.

Shore led 7-6 with 8:14 to play in the third quarter before Rumson erupted to take the lead for good. Lydon finished with a game-high five goals and senior midfielder Grayson Goldin scored four times.

Senior midfielder Tucker Malfa led Shore with three goals.

Rumson will take on second-seeded Manasquan in the championship game on Monday afternoon at Monmouth University.

 

Nonconference

No. 5 Southern 10, Robbinsville 6

Sophomore Shea O’Donnell registered 3 goals and 1 assist as the Rams (12-4) defeated the Ravens (10-7). Sophomore Kyle Sininsky scored 2 goals and tallied 3 assists. Senior Liam Griffin sank 2 shots. Sophomore Cash McVey added a goal and 2 assists. Senior Joe Kessler scored a goal and distributed an assist. Sophomore midfielder Chris Hughes scored his first career goal. Seniors Liam Bates and Collin Markoski as well as freshman Niko Iliescu each tallied an assist. Senior goalie AJ Mattern recorded 8 saves in the win while sophomore goalie Nick Hughes recorded 6 saves.
