No. 10 St. John Vianney rolls past No. 12 Marlboro to improve to 2-0

St. John Vianney is off to a flying start under first-year head coach Bobby Acosta.

Sophomore running back Abdul Turay ran for 109 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries and junior quarterback Zach LaBarca completed 12 of 18 passes for 206 yards and a touchdown as the Lancers, ranked No. 10 in the Shore Sports Insider Top 12, rolled to a 35-7 Shore Conference nondivisional victory over No. 12 Marlboro on Friday night.

Turay scored on runs of 2, 6, 5 and 5 yards and added two receptions for 53 yards. LaBarca tossed a 25-yard touchdown pass to Adam Urs and carried four times for 24 yards. Senior wide receiver Dante Campagna caught eight passes for 106 yards.

Junior quarterback Zach Caporale ran for 42 yards and a touchdown and senior Luke Houston caught five passes for 149 yards to lead Marlboro. Houston also had an interception on defense. He led the Shore Conference with seven interceptions last season.
