Week 2 OIB Ortho Team of the Week: Toms River East Girls Basketball
Shore Sports Insider is proud to partner with OIB Ortho this winter to present our weekly OIB Ortho Girls Basketball Team of the Week Award, recognizing standout Shore Conference programs for their accomplishments on the court.

The Week 1 recipient of the 2026 OIB Ortho Team of the Week is Toms River East
The Raiders who have won five straight games, went a perfect 3-0 on the week as they surged to the number seven ranking in the Shore Sports Insider Girls Basketball Top 10. Junior Kacey Briles scored 21 points and junior Libby Dickman registered a 12 point and 14 rebound double-double in a 50-34 win over Manchester. The Raiders then topped Point Boro 45-39 behind a 21 point and six rebound stat line from Dickman. Toms River East then closed the week out with a commanding 59-33 victory over rival Toms River North behind junior Kylie Paladino’s 14 points and six rebounds.
“It was important to us to have a good start in the division,” Toms River East head coach Kevin Cohen said. “The team has been working very hard and different girls have stepped up each night. We had three different girls lead our team in scoring this week. Defensively, we are creating turnovers and capitalizing on that as well. I am so proud of the girls for winning Team of the Week. They were very excited when they found out and thank you for so much for the Joe Leone’s gift card. The girls are looking forward to that.”
On Monday, Shore Sports Insider visited practice to present Toms River East head coach Kevin Cohen and the team with a commemorative game ball and a $250 Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties Gift Card, courtesy of our partners at Joe Leone’s, for a well-earned team meal.
