Each week, Shore Sports Insider will give the fans of the Shore Conference a chance to pick the Player of the Week sponsored by Broad Street Dough Co.
Below, we have selected a player of the week from each of the seven Shore Conference divisions, plus three wild cards — all of whom are candidates in this week’s contest. Read about the nominees and vote at the bottom of the post for the one that deserves to be the overall Boys Soccer Player of the Week. Vote once per hour until the poll closes Saturday at 10 p.m. Winner will receive a $25 gift card courtesy of Broad Street Dough Co

Class A North Player of the Week
Thomas Silva, Long Branch
Silva capped a strong showing in the Shore Conference Coaches Cup by scoring two goals in Long Branch’s 3-0 win over Shore in the tournament championship game. The junior also scored one goal apiece in wins over Monmouth and Point Beach leading up to the championship game.

Class A Central Player of the Week
Kyle Moore, Colts Neck
Moore and his younger brother, Sean, led Colts Neck to its first ever Shore Conference Tournament championship by combining for 13 of Colts Neck’s 15 goals during the tournament. Kyle Moore scored six of them, including the game-winner in each of Colts Neck’s last four wins of the tournament. He scored the tiebreaking goal in a 3-2 win over Manasquan in the quarterfinals, did the same in the 74th minute of a 2-1 win over Ocean in the semis and finished the championship-winning, tiebreaking goal in the 3-2 win over CBA in the 60th minute of the SCT final.

Class A South Player of the Week
Luke Bodziak, Toms River East
Bodziak scored game-winning goals in consecutive 1-0 wins by Toms River East in the consolation rounds of the Shore Conference Tournament. The first one downed St. John Vianney and the second came in the final minute of a 1-0 win over Freehold Township.

Class B North Player of the Week
Mike Faller, Freehold Boro
Faller missed five weeks due to injury and since his return, he has been a dependable goal-scorer for the Colonials with five goals in five matches. Last week, he recorded his first career hat trick in a 4-3 Freehold Boro win over Hamilton West, then scored the game-winner in the 77th minute of a 2-1 Colonials win over Brick – a win that clinched Freehold a spot in the NJSIAA Tournament.

Class B Central Player of the Week
Devin Ryan, Monmouth
Ryan posted two goals in Monmouth’s convincing, 7-0 win over Jackson Liberty in the Coaches Cup consolations.

Class B South Player of the Week
Tanner Grozinski, Lacey
Lacey marched to its third ever SCT semifinal appearance and first since 2011 thanks to the standout play of Grozinski. The junior forward finished the tournament with six goals and two assists, capped by a hat trick with one assist in a 5-0 rout of Central in last week’s quarterfinal round.

Class C South Player of the Week
Dylan Ryan, Point Beach
Point Beach reached the Coaches Cup semifinals thanks to a quarterfinal brace by Ryan, whose two goals carried the Garnet Gulls to a 2-1 win over Freehold Boro.
Class C South Honorable Mention: Nate Scisco, Barnegat; Joe Ficorillo, Barnegat
Wild Cards
Ryan Fernandez, Ocean
Fernandez scored three SCT goals and was responsible for all of Ocean’s scoring in the last two rounds of the tournament. The senior defender scored the lone goal of a 1-0 win over Rumson-Fair Haven in the SCT quarterfinals, the was the last Ocean player to get his foot on the ball on an own goal that gave the Spartans a 1-0 lead over Colts Neck in the semifinals before the Cougars rallied to win.
Brayden Perry, CBA
No CBA player scored more than one goal during the Colts run to a fourth straight championship game appearance. Perry’s goal, however, stood out in that it was the latest goal CBA scored and it broke a scoreless deadlock during a quarterfinal showdown vs. Holmdel. Perry scored in the 73rd minute to give CBA the 1-0 win.
Aidan Donnelly, Southern
Following its elimination from the Shore Conference Tournament, Southern got back on track with wins over Wall and Manasquan, with Donnelly leading the goal-scoring charge. The senior scored five of the seven Southern goals in the two games – two in a 3-0 win over Wall and a hat trick in a 4-3 win over Manasquan.
