Shore Sports Insider is proud to partner with OIB Ortho this fall to present our weekly OIB Ortho Football Team of the Week Award, recognizing one Shore Conference program for its accomplishments on the field. We are also thrilled to welcome Joe Leone’s as a co-sponsor, providing a very generous $500 Pasta Party Gift Card each week to celebrate the winning team.

The Week 1 recipient of the 2025 OIB Ortho Football Team of the Week is Manasquan, following the Warriors’ hard-fought 14-10 victory over Point Boro. On Tuesday, SSI visited practice to present head coach Jay Price and the team with a commemorative game ball and the $500 Joe Leone’s gift card for a well-earned pasta party.

Point Boro (0-2) struck first, capping a 15-play, nine-minute drive with a 21-yard field goal by kicker Jack Sullivan. The Panthers maintained their 3-0 lead for much of the first half before Manasquan quarterback Frankie Tackett scrambled in from nine yards out with 40 seconds remaining in the second quarter to give the Warriors a 7-3 halftime edge.

The Panthers reclaimed the lead early in the fourth quarter when senior running back Jack Scalabrini powered in from six yards out. But Manasquan responded with a long, grinding drive of its own. Behind clutch plays on multiple fourth-down conversions, the Warriors punched in the decisive score, capped off by Ace Etienne, to seal a statement win in their season opener.

The special guest to present the Team of the Week was Manasquan graduate John Hilla who played in on the 1993 sectional title team.
