Junior Jayden Hodge scored 19 points, pulled in 10 rebounds and forced three steals to lead the Purple Roses (19-7) past the Colts (19-4) for the second straight Shore Conference Tournament title.
Hodge scored 14 of his points in the first half, during which CBA played the defending champions to an 18-18 draw. Hodge then scored the last St. Rose basket of the third quarter, with St. Rose taking a 29-26 lead to the fourth.
Seniors Bryan Ebeling and Evan Romano led the effort to close out the Colts in the fourth quarter, with Romano scoring nine of his 13 points in the final eight minutes and Ebeling scoring all seven of his points in the second half, plus forcing a 10-second violation midway through the quarter.
Junior Charlie Marcoullier led CBA with 12 points and three assists, while sennior Justin Fuerbacher added seven points and six rebounds before leaving the game after aggravating an ankle injury that has affected him at different time this season since he first injured it in December. Fuerbacher came out of the game after the 10-second violation and after attempting to return to the floor, reinjured the ankle and left for good with under three minutes to go.
