Ranney 61, Toms River North 55

Junior Shaan Nayar scored 16 points and senior teammate MeSean Williams added 13 to lead the Panthers to a road win over the Mariners in their final tune-up prior to the NJSIAA Tournament.

Senior Sherrod Nelson scored a game-high 23 points and classmate Mekai Morse added 12 to lead Toms River North in their final high-school basketball games.

 

Non-Conference

Manalapan 69, Monroe 50

Senior Aiden Sosinov and junior Dean Aviles scored 22 points apiece and the Braves exploded for 53 points in the second half to surge past the Falcons on the road in a rematch of the Central Group IV semifinal a year ago — won by Monroe.

Sophomore Spencer Schoenfeld added 11 points for Manalapan, which trailed, 29-16, at halftime before outscoring Monroe, 28-8, in the third quarter and 53-21 in the second half.

Sayreville 69, Donovan Catholic 64

Senior James Gibbons and junior Pat Gallo each scored 21 points, but the Griffins could not hold onto a halftime lead and dropped a road test against the Bombers — the No. 2 seed in the Central Jersey Group IV bracket.

Junior Kai Pritchard added 13 points for Donovan Catholic, while Chidi Chukwurah scored a game-high 27 to lead Sayreville.

Raritan 63, Calvary Christian 38

Freshman Mario Diamantis scored a game-high 18 points and the Rockets powered past Calvary Christian. Senior Sean Burnett added nine points and sophomore Eric Berg chipped in nine for Raritan.

Seton Hall Prep 80, Red Bank Catholic 59

Senior Sean Saxton scored 18 points and classmate Ryan Prior poured in 17, but the Caseys could not keep pace with the Pirates. Alex Ante scored 14 of his game-high 21 points in the first quarter to lead Seton Hall Prep.
