Ocean 49, Jackson Liberty 46

Junior Aidan Saint Louis scored a game-high 18 points and the Spartans (6-14) clipped the Lions (6-12) after getting off to a fast start.

Freshman Brody Bell added 14 points for Ocean, which outscored Jackson Liberty, 19-11, in the first quarter. Junior Aiden Brown scored 14 points and senior Corey Hartnett netted 13 to lead Jackson Liberty.

Ranney 61, Neptune 50

Senior MeSean Williams scored a game-high 22 points and the Panthers hit the Scarlet Fliers (11-7) with a 19-0 run during the second half that broke open a tight game and delivered Ranney (9-8) a key win during the battle for Shore Conference Tournament spots.

Sophomore Andrew Mardahaev poured in 17 points on five three-pointers for Ranney, with 11 of his points coming during the first half. Two of Mardahaev’s three-pointers came during the 19-0 run, which turned a 35-34 Neptune lead late in the third into a 53-35 Ranney advantage midway through the fourth.

Junior Shaan Nayar scored 10 of his 11 points in the second half for Ranney while also adding three steals. Senior Justin Buck threw in eight points, six rebounds and three assists in the win.

Senior Jayden Myrthill scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half to lead Neptune and junior Jordan Pierre posted 12 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

No. 4 Central 71, Toms River East 34

Sophomore Derek Roth grabbed the spotlight on Senior Night, scoring 15 points to go with six rebounds and three steals as the Golden Eagles (19-2) handled the Raiders (7-12).

Senior Royalty Riley contributed 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals, while classmate Jaycen Santucci threw in 12 points, three steals and two blocks for Central. Seniors Aidan Graham and Jayson King also got into the act, with Graham scoring nine points and King finishing with eight points, three assists and three steals in the win.

Freshman Brady Gillen scored eight points to lead Toms River East.

Matawan 53, Long Branch 29

Junior Daamir Darby logged a double-double and freshman Cayson Williams came up two points shy of one as the Huskies (7-13) handled the Green Wave (6-14).

Darby finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Williams posted eight points, 11 rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots. Junior Dean Cammayo also netted 10 points, junior Colin Reitmann pitched in nine points and three assists and senior Amir Martinez threw in eight points as part of Matawan’s balanced attack.
