No. 9 Red Bank Catholic 79, St. John Vianney 64
Junior James Hankowski led five Red Bank Catholic players in double-figure scoring with 18 points while hitting six of RBC’s 12 three-pointers and the Caseys (12-9, 5-5) overwhelmed the Lancers (6-15, 0-10) with their balanced shooting attack.
Sophomore Ryder Ciorciari and junior Jake Frankel each added 14 points, with Ciorciari scoring 11 of his in the second quarter. Sophomore Gavin Biasi chipped in 12 points and senior Ryan Prior netted 11 for Red Bank Catholic, which played without brothers Sean and Ryan Saxton due to illness, according to coach Tyler Schmelz.
Sophomore Justin Togans scored a game-high 20 points to lead St. John Vianney. Sophomore Dan Laven added 11 points, senior Jess Plunkett chipped in 10 and sophomore Danny O’Neill contributed nine in the loss.
Class A Central
Howell 72, Jackson Memorial 51
Senior Peter Barkauskas scored a game-high 24 points and drained four of Howell’s 11 three-pointers as a team, sparking the Rebels (11-10, 3-7) to a rout of the Jaguars (9-12, 5-5) that puts them in position to make the Shore Conference Tournament, pending the power points becoming official on Sunday morning.
Barkauskas scored 17 of his points in the second half and drilled three of his three-pointers in the fourth quarter to help Howell pull away. Sophomore Noah Musto scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half and hauled in 13 rebounds, while junior Cayden Parker netted 14 points and dished out seven assists for the Rebels.
Howell hit five three-pointers in the first quarter to race out to an 18-7 lead through one. Jackson Memorial pulled within 29-22 by halftime, but never got closer than six points in the second half. The Jaguars scored the final four points of the third quarter to pull within 52-40, but Howell started the fourth on a 10-2 run to blow open the game.
Sophomore Jayden Parker added eight points with a pair of three-pointers and senior Joe Vella hit a pair of first-quarter threes to account for his scoring while also pulling down six rebounds.
Freshman Mi’Aire Anderson and junior George Boley each scored 14 points to lead Jackson Memorial, with Anderson also grabbing six rebounds.
Brick Memorial 58, Point Boro 40
Junior Jason Lajara fell two rebounds shy of a triple-double and classmate Sean Collins scored 17 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals as the Mustangs (10-13, 2-8) routed the Panthers (10-11, 2-8).
Lajara finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists, while classmate Austin Braaten pitched in nine points and four blocked shots for Brick Memorial.
Senior Drew Cardia led Point Boro with 11 points.
Class A South
Manchester 66, Toms River South 60
Senior Aidan Lunn scored 36 points — his third game this season with at least 35 and second vs. Toms River South — and the Hawks (4-16, 3-7) completed a season sweep of the Indians (3-18, 0-10) with a win on the road.
Lunn has hit the 35-point mark twice in the past three games, with the senior scoring 35 in an overtime loss to Cedar Creek on Saturday. He also pulled in 10 rebounds, dished three assists and blocked four shots. Freshman Justin Roberts added 13 points, four assists and four steals for Manchester.
Junior Jacob Myers led Toms River South with 20 points and classmate Shane Gambarony contributed 16 in the loss.
No. 4 Central 72, No. 10 Southern 50
Senior Jayson King led four Central players in double-figure scoring with 18 points and also handed out four assists as the Golden Eagles (20-2, 10-0) completed a perfect season within the Class A South division and became the Shore’s first 20-win team of 2024-25 by toppling the Rams (15-5, 7-3).
Senior Jaycen Santucci pitched in 15 points, six rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocked shots and classmate Royalty Riley filled up the stat sheet with 13 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Senior Aidan Graham also poured in 14 points for Central.
Sophomore Noah Perna led all scorers with 22 points and eight rebounds and junior Jake Sliwinski and senior Cooper Dempsey backed him up with 11 points apiece to lead Southern.
Toms River North 68, Donovan Catholic 56
Senior Sherrod Nelson connected on four three-pointers en route to a game-high 28 points and the Mariners (7-14, 4-6) rode a hot start to a road win over the Griffins (10-11, 6-4).
Junior Bryce Kazanowsky and sophomore Logan Brill each added 10-point double-doubles for Toms River North, which outscored Donovan Catholic, 18-5, in the first quarter. Kazanowsky grabbed 12 rebounds and Brill pulled down 11.
Senior Ryan Jacobs scored 13 points and both classmate Derek Espinelli and sophomore Gabe Feliciano chipped in 11 points each to lead Donovan Catholic.
Class B North
Monmouth 52, Long Branch 24
Junior Jaylin Reeves led a balanced scoring effort with 11 points and the Falcons (5-14, 4-6) shut down the Green Wave (6-15, 4-6) on the other end to complete a one-sided win.
Sophomore Logan Conrad added 11 points and junior Judah Uter pitched in 10 for Monmouth.
Freehold Boro 77, Asbury Park 30
Brian Tassey led a Senior Night parade on the floor by posting 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists as the Colonials (17-6, 10-0) rolled through the Blue Bishops (0-18, 0-10) to complete their regular season.
Senior Qua’Mir Everett added 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists while classmate Aidan Hamlin-Woolfolk chipped in 13 points, five rebounds and three assists for Freehold Boro. Senior MyKing Artis-Ridley contributed nine points and five assists, while fellow senior Zahkey Jeter went for eight points, six rebounds and five assists in the win.
Jason Whittaker and Ny’John Kirkpatrick each scored 13 points to lead Asbury Park.
Class B Central
New Egypt 54, Lakewood 41
Junior Clyde Ferris went off for a career-high 27 points and the Warriors (8-10, 5-5) outscored the Piners (2-16, 0-9), 13-2, in the fourth quarter to secure the road win.
Junior Nolan Arnold added 14 points for New Egypt and is now 26 points shy of reaching the 1,000-point mark for his career in just his junior season. Ferris (seven) and Arnold (four) combined for 11 of New Egypt’s 13 points in the fourth.
Junior Cris Rosario scored 17 points and classmate Ronny Cuevas chipped in 15 in the loss.
Point Beach 77, Jackson Liberty 50
Senior Danny Cavanaugh scored 21 points and the Garnet Gulls (15-6, 8-2) coasted to a win over the Lions (6-13, 2-8).
Junior Elijah Ives poured in 17 points and junior Jacob Edgecomb chipped in 13 for Point Beach. Senior Scot Crowley added nine points and sophomore Tyler Preston contributed eight points and five assists in the win.
Wall 48, Neptune 31
Senior Brian McKenna scored nine of his game-high 13 points in the second half and the Crimson Knights (17-3, 10-0) came to life in the third quarter to pull away from the Scarlet Fliers (11-8, 4-5), completing a perfect season within Class B Central divisional play.
Junior Liam Killea added 11 points, senior Demetri Tu poured in nine and junior Dan Hennessy netted eight for Wall, which outscored Neptune, 17-6, in the third quarter to turn a 17-13 halftime lead to a 34-19 advantage heading to the fourth quarter.
Senior Jayden Myrthil scored eight points to lead Neptune, which will now wait to see if it will stay in the 20-team Shore Conference Tournament field.
Class B South
Barnegat 63, Lacey 52
Seniors Cole Toddings, Mason Krey and Todd Muhammad led the charge on Senior Night and the Bengals (15-6, 7-1) beat the Lions (7-12, 4-4) to secure their spot in the Shore Conference Tournament and give themselves a chance at a first-round home game.
Toddings finished with 16 points, Krey poured in 15 and Muhammad contributed 10 for Barnegat. Senior D.J. Duffy scored a game-high 19 points and classmate Jon Stabile threw in 12 to lead Lacey.
Non-Conference
Keyport 69, Academy Charter 52
Junior Kai Arrington wore out the nets with 29 points and the Red Raiders (15-6) rolled to a win over the Panthers (8-11).
Senior Nico Dispenza poured in 18 points and classmate Andrei Matthews chipped in 14 for Keyport, giving the Arrington-Dispenza-Matthews trio a combined 61 of Keyport’s 69 points.
Dante Lyons led Academy Charter with 20 points.
Metro Classic
At Franklin High School
Gill St. Bernard’s 54, No. 2 Manasquan 36
Sophomore Rey Weinseimer scored 13 points and senior Griffin Linstra netted 11 of his 12 in the first half, but the Knights (16-4) held the Warriors (17-3) to three points in the fourth quarter and 12 for the second half to win their ninth straight while handing Manasquan its first loss of the season to a team other than St. Rose.
