Senior Aidan Donnelly scored two goals in the first half and the Rams secured an opening-day road win over the Patriots. Senior center back Shane Holden played Donnelly through with a pass from midfield and Donnelly finished it to the lower right of the goal in the 18th minute, then finished one to the lower left off a pass from classmate Nick Prosperi in the 32nd.
Manchester 5, Pinelands 2
Senior Eric Balkius scored the first two goals of his varsity career and the Hawks rolled to a season-opening win over the Wildcats. Balkius’s first goal broke a 2-2 tie late in the second half and proved to be the game-winning goal.
Senior Gabe Occhipinti and sophomore Muiz Aderogba each added a goal and an assist for Manchester, while junior Brayden Kurak accounted for the other Hawks goal. Occhipinti’s goal made it 1-0 and Aderogba’s tally broke a 1-1 tie.
Barnegat 3, Neptune 1
Sophomore Nate Scisco opened the scoring in the fourth minute and capped it in the 53rd to nail down an opening-day brace and lead the Bengals to a road win over the Scarlet Fliers. Scisco finished a pass from senior Logan Ryan to open the scoring and Barnegat went up, 2-0, when Cristian Chamorro headed in a corner kick from fellow senior Joe Ficorilli.
Red Bank 6, St. Rose 0
Junior Alex Salvo went off for four goals and assisted another to lead the Bucs to a resounding opening-day win over the Purple Roses. Senior Trey Cummings and junior Carlos Segura-Trapp each added a goal and senior Gavin McTighe dished out two assists in the win.
Ranney 1, Matawan 0
Senior Saaed Torres got Ranney on the board with a goal in the first half and the Panthers held on for a season-opening win over the Huskies.

Juniors Callan Granito, Rob Calamia and Connor McNiff each scored a goal and the Jaguars opened their season with a shutout win over the Hornets.

Senior Robert Keegan scored both Wall goals and the Crimson Knights and goalkeeper Tom Ekberg blanked the Green Dragons to open up their season on a winning note. Keegan converted a penalty kick in the 14th minute to open the scoring and finished an insurance goal in the 68th off a pass from junior Matt Appel.

Senior Atticus Evison-Behrman scored the game-winning goal in the 68th minute off a feed from junior Lance Heuston and the Wildcats battled for an opening-day win over Pilgrim Academy.
Kearny 2, No. 5 Toms River North 0
Lucas Vasquez headed in the first goal of the game early in the second half and Jeckson Rivera added an insurance goal in the 75th as the Kardinals — the 2023 Group IV runner-up — topped the Mariners in Kearny in a season-opener between two Group IV championship hopefuls.

Senior Brayden Perry scored the lone goal of the game in the second half and the Colts bounced back from a one-sided, season-opening loss by topping the Rhode Island Academy.

Thomas Regan scored a goal and assisted others by Sam Ziegler and Shea Crsawford as LaSalle’s Pennsylavnia Academy scored a rebounding win over the three-time defending Shore Conference Tournament champions. After 33 scoreless minutes, Ziegler and Kaden Bono scored 28 second apart to stake LaSalle to a 2-0 lead.
