Shore Conference Girls Soccer Week Four Top 10 Rankings

 

1. Manalapan (7-0) Last Week: 1 – Manalapan only had one game this past week, but it was against No. 4 Middletown South. The Braves defeated the Eagles 3-1 to remain undefeated. Manalapan only has two games left in Class A North and one is against Howell who is also undefeated in the division. They have two SCT Group 2 games at home this week. On Tuesday, the Braves host Ranney and on Wednesday they host No. 10 Toms River East. 

 

2. Howell (6-1) Last Week: 3 – For the second straight week the Rebels knocked off the No. 2 ranked team in the Shore Conference. Two weeks ago they defeated Middletown South and last week they defeated Red Bank Catholic in overtime. Makenzie Memmolo has been a workhorse on the offensive side of the field for Howell with 6 goals and 8 assists. Howell travels to No. 9 Freehold Township on Monday and hosts Manasquan on Saturday in Class A North games. On Tuesday, the Rebels host Long Branch in a SCT Group 7 game.

3. Red Bank Catholic (7-2) Last Week: 2 – RBC dropped a spot after falling to Howell in overtime last week. The Caseys rebounded with a 2-0 win over Toms River East. Sophomore Grace Pauwels has been one of the Caseys best playmakers with 4 goals and 4 assists this season. RBC travels to No. 4 Middletown South on Monday in a Class A North battle. On Wednesday, they host Brick in a nondivisional game

4. Middletown South (5-2) Last Week: 4 –  Middletown South was handed their second straight loss to start the week against No. 1 Manalapan. The Eagles rebounded with a lopsided SCT Group 4 win against Colts Neck. Sophomore Elizabeth Eckelman scored four goals in that game and added an assist. The Eagles play two Class A North games this week. They host No. 3 Red Bank Catholic on Monday and travel to Wall on Saturday.

 

5 . Central (6-0-1) Last Week: 5  – Central had a slow week, only playing division rival Jackson. They beat the Jaguars 4-0 and earned their sixth shutout. The Golden Eagles have only allowed one goal so far this season. Seniors Emma Christensen and Nicole Kangas continue to lead the backline for Central. Class A South will be decided on Monday night when Central hosts No. 6 Point Boro, who is also undefeated in the division. They will host Neptune in a SCT Group 5 game on Wednesday and Wall on Thursday in a nondivisional game.

 

6. Point Boro (7-0) Last Week: 6 – Point Boro is one of two teams to win every game they have played so far this season. Last week the Panthers traveled to Notre Dame to win a nonconference game 2-1. They duplicated that result against No. 7 Toms River South as they eliminated their opponent from the Class A South race. The division will be decided on Monday night when Point Boro travels to No. 5 Central. The Panthers will also host Matawan in a SCT Group 8 game on Wednesday.

7. Toms River South (4-1-2) Last Week: 7 – Toms River South was handed their first loss of the season against No. 6 Point Boro last week. The loss knocked them out of the race for the Class A South division title. The Indians rebounded with a 2-0 win over crosstown rival Toms River North. Junior Jaelyn Mayne scored two goals in a game for the second time this season. Toms River South travels to division rival Brick Memorial on Monday and hosts Holmdel in a SCT Group 4 game.

8. Trinity Hall (7-1-1) Last Week: 9 – Trinity Hall extended their shutout streak to seven games and currently have nine on the season. The Monarchs won three games last week with the first one being a SCT Group 7 win against Long Branch. Trinity Hall defeated Colts Neck to remain undefeated in Class A Central and ended the week with a nonconference win over West Windsor-Plainsboro North. Trinity Hall travels to Rahway to play their fourth nonconference game on Monday. On Wednesday, they host Barnegat in a SCT Group 7 game. The Monarchs end the week against Rumson-Fair Haven in a game that will decide the division. 

 

9. Freehold Township (2-3-2) Last Week: 10 – The Patriots have gone 3-0-1 in their last four games. Freehold Township defeated Manasquan 1-0 in a Class A North battle and followed that up with a nondivisional win over Lacey. Freshmen Morgan Notaro and Adele Moy have provided a spark to the Patriot offense and are helping the Patriots improve every game. Freehold Township hosts No. 2 Howell on Monday in their only game of the week. Freehold Township can play spoiler the next two weeks in the division with games against No. 2 Howell and No 1. Manalapan

10. Toms River East (7-1) Last Week: Not Ranked – The Raiders won their first seven games before falling 2-0 to No. 3 RBC on Saturday. Class B South is theirs to lose after beating Barnegat 1-0 last week to improve to 4-0 in the division. The Raiders can clinch the division with a win over crosstown rival Toms River North on Tuesday. Toms River East travels to No. 1 Manalapan on Wednesday in a SCT Group 2 game. The Raiders defeated Raritan on Tuesday to improve to 2-0 and earn 6 points on the group.
