Holmdel 40, No. 8 Manasquan 34
Senior Jack Vallillo scored 13 points and sophomore Anthony Serini delivered seven of his 11 points in the fourth quarter, when the Hornets (9-5, 4-4) separated themselves from the Warriors (8-7, 4-3) to earn their first win over Manasquan since the 2010-11.
Senior Jack Cannon added six points, five rebounds and four assists to back up the top two scorers for Holmdel, which closed the third quarter with a 10-2 run to take a 26-24 lead going to the fourth quarter and and went on a 12-3 run late in the fourth to close out the win.
Sophomore Sean Bilodeau scored seven points and junior Logan Cleveland posted six points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots to lead Manasquan.
St. Rose 51, Red Bank 35
Senior Tyler Cameron scored 17 points and the Purple Roses (2-16, 1-7) snapped their 12-game losing streak and captured their first Shore Conference win of the season by racing past the Bucs (7-11, 2-5).
Senior O’Rien Campbell added 13 points and sophomore Ajay Catania poured in 12 points on for three-pointers for St. Rose. Junior Marco Leonardis also pitched in eight points in the victory.
Junior Justin Valentino scored 12 points and classmate Will Galligan added 10 to lead Red Bank.
Class A Central
No. 5 Howell 74, Manalapan 61
Junior Eddie Garcia led a balanced scoring effort with 17 points and the Rebels (14-3, 6-2) rolled to a win over the Braves (5-11, 0-8) to keep their hopes of a division championship share alive.
Junior Jayson Parker poured in 13 points, senior Cayden Parker chipped in 12 and sophomore Noah Musto made it four Howell scorers in double-figures by netting 11. Senior Dean Aviles scored 19 points and junior Joe Farino threw in 15 to lead Manalapan.
No. 2 Wall 53, Middletown South 39
Senior Brian McKenna scored 15 points, including seven during a decisive fourth quarter that delivered the Crimson Knights (15-0, 8-0) a road win over the Eagles (11-7, 5-3) that clinches them no worse than a share of their second straight division title.
McKenna also contributed five rebounds and four assists, while senior Dan Hennessy chipped in 12 points and four assists for Wall, which outscored Middletown South, 16-6, in the fourth quarter. Seniors Liam Killea and Jake DeBrito each poured in nine points, with Killea dishing out five assists and DeBrito hitting three three-pointers.
Freshman Evan Wells scored 15 points, senior Matt Trimble added 10 and freshman Ryan Gannon chipped in nine to lead Middletown South.
No. 10 Freehold Twp. 70, St. John Vianney 60
Junior Jake Schultzel scored 27 points and snagged six rebounds to lead the Patriots(10-7, 4-4) to a road win over the Lancers (4-15, 1-7).
Junior Dakota Lasater pitched in 12 points while handing out four assists, classmate John O’Neill contributed 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists, and fellow junior Cole Gerigk added eight points and three steals for Freehold Township.
Class B North
No. 4 Marlboro 68, Colts Neck 65
Junior Dylan McEwan scored 24 points and the Mustangs (14-3, 6-2) held off a huge fourth-quarter comeback effort by the Cougars (10-6, 5-3) to secure the win and keep place with idle Red Bank Catholic (13-5, 6-2) for first place in the division.
Senior Ajay Mathews added 17 points to go with seven assists and classmate Christian Elmasri pitched in 11 points, three assists and four steals for Marlboro, which carried a 51-31 lead into the fourth quarter before Colts Neck more than doubled its point total with a 34-point fourth that nearly wiped out the 20-point deficit. Senior Drew Lubeck also posted seven points, 13 rebounds and six assists in the victory.
Sophomore Nate Sloane led Colts Neck with a game-high 25 points, including 20 in the second half and 14 in the fourth-quarter rally. Senior Dillon Younger scored seven of his 15 points in the fourth quarter, while classmate Liam Collura netted six of his nine points in the final quarter for Colts Neck.
Ranney 67, Middletown North 60
Senior Shaan Nayar put up 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists to lead the Panthers (9-7, 5-3) over the Lions (5-12, 1-7), keeping Ranney in the four-team chase for the Class B North division title.
Junior Ben Schaeffer added 12 points and six rebounds while classmate Andrew Mardahaev contributed 11 points and eight rebounds and junior Alex Heyser chipped in nine points and three assists for Ranney.
Four Middletown North players reached double-figure scoring, led by senior Eddie Lopez with 17 points. Senior Jack Dambaugh netted 15 points, freshman Nick DiGiovanni added 12 and junior Nate Tyburczy netted 11 for the Lions.
Class B Central
Monmouth 67, Neptune 54
Senior Ahmir Wiggins and junior Logan Conrade each scored 18 points and the Falcons (12-5, 6-2) turned away the Scarlet Fliers (6-10, 4-4) on the road.
Junior Javon Bowles added 12 points for Monmouth, which stayed within a game of Ocean for first place in the Class B Central division standings. Senior C.J. Evans led Neptune with 17 points, junior Jeremiah McCleave chipped in 11 and senior Jordan Pierre hauled in 17 rebounds to go with his five points in the loss.
Ocean 67, Raritan 38
Freshman Omar Ayyash pumped in 17 points and the Spartans (12-7, 7-1) coasted to a win over the Rockets (6-11, 2-6) to maintain their first-place lead in the B Central division standings.
Junior Justice Hodges added 13 points and senior Aidan Saint Louis chipped in eight for Ocean, which had 12 players scored a basket in the victory. Senior Connor Lee led Raritan with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Matawan 30, Long Branch 19
Senior Colin Reitmann scored 12 points as the lone player in the game to reach double-figure scoring as the Huskies (7-11, 5-3) ended a six-game losing streak by beating the Green Wave (4-14, 0-8) in a defensive struggle.
Class C North
Shore 67, Asbury Park 47
Senior Ryan Barham scored 17 points and the Blue Devils (12-4, 7-0) cruised to a win over the Blue Bishops (0-12, 0-6) that clinches Shore its first outright division championship since the 2006-07 season.
Senior Finn Watson backed up Barham with 15 points and classmate Andrew Barham pitched in 10 for Shore. Senior Ny’John Kirkpatrick scored a game-high 19 points to lead Asbury Park.
Henry Hudson 75, Keansburg 50
Junior Blakely Smith scored a game-high 25 points and classmate JoJo Newell kicked in 22 to lead the Admirals (11-6, 5-2) to a bounceback win over the Titans (9-7, 2-4) two days after an overtime defeat vs. Shore in a game that decided the Class C North championship.
Senior Billy Quinn poured in 13 points and junior Masio Tucker contributed 10 points for Henry Hudson. Sophomore Taurian Black put up 19 points and classmate Daizhan Jones netted 15 to lead Keansburg.
Class C South
Manchester 53, Lacey 41
Junior Orion Andrews scored 22 points and senior James Ruocchio added 15 to help the Hawks (5-11, 4-3) handle the Lions (2-14, 1-6). Sophomore Justin Roberts also threw in 11 points for Manchester.
Junior Kenny Monica led Lacey with 10 points and 14 rebounds, while sophomore Andrew Baldacinni added nine points and seven rebounds in the loss.
Non-Division
Brick 61, Freehold Boro 55
Junior Jamel Pitts scored 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds and swiped five steals and classmate Sean Nausedas posted a double-double to lead the Green Dragons (8-10) over the Colonials (6-12) for their fifth straight win.
Nausedas finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds to record his sixth double-double in Brick’s last seven games. Sophomore Jaylen Johnson added 11 points and five assists for Brick.
Senior Mike Cush drained a game-high 22 points and classmate Damier Lester chipped in 11 to lead Freehold Boro.
