2. Howell (11-3) Last Week: 2 – Howell entered the SCT losing two straight games against teams ranked in the top 20 in the state. The Rebels had a slow start in their second-round game against No. 14 Lacey , but picked it up in the second half with three goals in a shutout victory. All-Shore forward Makenzie Memmolo scored two goals and reached the 100 point milestone for Howell. The week prior she set the all-time record for assists in Howell’s history. Senior Leila Shaw made six saves to earn her sixth shutout of the season. Howell will host the sixth-seed Toms River South on Tuesday in the quarterfinal round of the SCT. If the Rebels win, it would make it four straight SCT semifinals they have made.

3. Central (13-0-1) Last Week: 4 – After having bye in the first-round of the SCT, Central beat the No. 15 seed Marlboro 4-0 in the second-round to advance into the quarterfinals. Junior Leah DiCillo scored two goals and Emma Christensen had a goal and an assist in the win. Christensen also helped lead the Golden Eagle defense to their 11th shutout of the season. Sophomore Addison Frulio made 4 saves in the shutout. Central had the biggest margin of victory in the second-round, but might change in the quarterfinal round against the No. 10 seed Trinity Hall. This is a match-up of two of the best defenses in the Shore Conference. Central has only allowed three goals in three games this season and Trinity Hall has only allowed six goals in three games this season. Central will host Trinity Hall on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

The Panthers got revenge on last season’s defeat, defeating the Patriots 2-1. Sophomore Grace Tansey scored the first goal of the game off a pass from Megan Viggiano, her 7th assist of the season. Tansey assisted the second goal by Abby Crowell. Point Boro will face-off with Rumson for the second time this season, coming from behind in the second half to win 4-3 in the SCT Group 8 game. 5. Red Bank Catholic (11-3) Last Week: 3 – In one of the biggest upsets of the SCT so far, No. 4 seed RBC fell to Rumson-Fair Haven, 1-0, in double overtime. The Caseys were held scoreless through regulation and the first overtime before the Bulldogs broke through with just 1:14 left in the second extra period. The loss marks the fourth consecutive year that RBC has failed to advance to the SCT quarterfinals. Despite the early exit, the Caseys will now turn their attention to the South Jersey Non-Public A sectional tournament, where their talent and depth will make them strong contenders for a deep postseason run.
6. Toms River South (10-1-2) Last Week: 6 – Toms River South crosstown rivals Toms River East for the second time in a week, but this time it was for a spot in the SCT quarterfinal round. The Indians repeated the same result as the regular season game, winning 2-0 and advancing in the SCT. Sophomore Reese Lindemann made five saves to earn her 7th straight shutout and 9th of the season. Daniella Gordon scored her team-high 11th goal and Elli O’Leary scored the Indians other goal. The No. 6 seeded Indians will look to end Howell’s run of three straight trips to the SCT semifinals. TRS will be on the road Tuesday to face off with Howell, who is the No. 3 seed.

7. Middletown South (8-5) Last Week: 7 – Middletown South is proving they are one of the best teams in the Shore Conference when healthy. The No. 9 seed Middletown South then went on the road to defeat the No. 8 seed St. John Vianney 5-2 to advance into the SCT quarterfinals. Lacrosse star Hayley Jamison scored two goals in the game and both Riley Kapler and Tinoco had two assists in the game. Trinity Hall, who is the No. 10 seed, travels to face the No. 2 seed Central on Tuesday night at 6:30. This quarterfinal match-up is a battle of two of the top defenses in the Shore Conference.
9. Rumson-Fair Haven (11-6) Last Week: Not Ranked – Rumson has been on the bubble of the top ten rankings all season waiting to get that big win. Well they did when they shocked the Shore Conference and upset the No. 4 seed Red Bank Catholic in the second-round of the SCT. With 1:14 left in double overtime, Duke commit Jordyn Sullivan scored off a pass from Maren Kennedy to send the Bulldogs into the quarterfinal round as the No. 13 seed. That was Sullivan’s 24th goal of the season. In the opening round they scored two second half goals to defeat Southern. Rumson will look to continue their SCT run on Tuesday when they travel to the No. 5 seed Point Boro at 4 p.m. The Bulldogs will attempt to get revenge on the Panthers from their SCT Group 8 game two weeks ago when Point Boro came back in the second half to win.
10. Freehold Township (6-7-2) Last Week: Not Ranked – Freehold Township scored three first half goals in their opening round game against Manchester to advance into the second-round of the SCT. The seniors for the Patriots played a big part in the victory with Christina Celano and Gianna Neron both scoring goals and Reese Metcalfe assisting the first goal of the game to Celano. Freehold Township fell to the No. 5 seed Point Boro in the second-round, a rematch of last year’s SCT championship game that the Patriots won 1-0. The Patriots trailed 2-0 late, but got a goal from freshman Morgan Notaro, her team-high 10th goal of the season. The young Freehold Township team will shift their focus to Central Jersey Group 4.
