Shore Conference Girls Soccer Week Two Top 10 Rankings
1. Manalapan (4-0) Last Week: 1 –. Manalapan has passed every test to date to remain in the top spot of the SSI Girls Soccer rankings. The Braves opened the week defeating No. 4 Red Bank Catholic 4-2 to win their first Class A North game. Manalapan followed that up by picking up three points in Shore Conference Tournament Group 2 with a 6-0 win over Raritan. The Braves ended the week with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Rumson-Fair Haven. Senior Daniella Butash scored four goals in the week. Manalapan has another busy week with a home game against No. 9 Wall on Monday and on the road to Manasquan on Saturday in two divisional games. Manalapan will host Toms River East, who is knocking on the door of the top ten, on Wednesday in a SCT Group 2 game.

2. Middletown South (3-0) Last Week: 2 – Middletown South improves on the offensive side of the field every game. Rutgers commit Bea Tinoco has scored five out of the Eagles eight goals so far this season and in the process she became the all-time leading goal scorer in Middletown South’s history. Tinoco scored both goals in a 2-0 victory over Freehold Township in a Class A North game and scored two more in a 5-1 win over Holmdel in a SCT Group 4 game to earn three points. Middletown South will travel to Manasquan on Monday and host No. 5 Howell on Friday in Class A North action. On Wednesday, the Eagles will look to earn three points in SCT Group play when they host Colts Neck.

3. Central (3-0) Last Week: 3 – Central is one of three teams to not allow a goal this season, shutting out two more opponents last week. The Golden Eagles opened the week with a 4-0 Class A South win over rival Lacey and ended the week earning three points in SCT Group 5 with a 3-0 win over Red Bank Regional. Central’s defense has been fantastic to start the season led by Emma Christensen and Nicole Kangas in the middle. Central has a Class A South showdown at No. 7 Toms River South Monday night and hosts Brick Memorial on Friday in their second divisional game of the week. On Wednesday, Central will host Ocean in SCT Group 5 action.
4. Red Bank Catholic (4-1) Last Week: 4 – After out scoring their first two opponents 7-0, the Caseys ran into No. 1 Manalapan who beat them 4-2 in their first Class A North game of the season. RBC rebounded with a lopsided win against St. Rose to earn three points in SCT Group 1. Sophomore Grace Pauwels has had a great start to the season, scoring both goals in the Manalapan game and having 4 assists on the season. RBC will travel to Freehold Township on Monday and host No. 9 Wall on Saturday in Class A North action. RBC can lock-up their spot in the Shore Conference Tournament with a win on Wednesday against Point Beach.

5. Howell (3-0) Last Week: 7 – Howell moved up two spots in the rankings after defeating previously No. 5 Wall 3-0 in a Class A North match-up. The duo of Makenzie Memmolo and Isabella Farinick have scored 9 goals and had 4 assists in the Rebels three games. Howell scored seven goals against Barnegat in SCT group play, earning three points in Group 7. Howell has a big Group 7 clash against newly ranked No. 8 Middletown North on Wednesday. The Rebels travel to No. 2 Middletown South on Friday in a Class A North match-up and end the week home on Saturday against Bridgewater-Raritan, who is 1-3 but have lost to some of the best teams in New Jersey to start the season.
6. Point Boro (2-0) Last Week: 8 – Point Boro, who did not have a game in the opening week, made easy work of their opponents in their first two games of the season. The Panthers started the season with a Class A South win over Brick Memorial 6-0. Point Boro duplicated that score against Freehold Boro in a SCT Group 8 game. Senior Elise Viggiano scored a hat-trick in both games, giving her six on the year. Point Boro plays two division games this week, hosting Lacey on Monday and traveling to Jackson on Saturday. On Wednesday, the Panthers will host Toms River North in SCT Group 8 action.

7. Toms River South (2-0-1) Last Week: 9 – Toms River South only played one game last week, defeating No. 10 Jackson 3-1 on the road in a Class A South game. Junior Jaelyn Maybe scored two goals in the game to lead the Indians. TRS will host No. 3 Central on Monday night in a battle of the top spot in Class A South. TRS ends the week hosting Lacey in their second divisional game of the week.

8. Middletown North (4-0) Last Week: Not Ranked – Middletown North makes the leap into the rankings after a 4-2 victory over Trinity Hall, who was previously ranked No. 6. Sofia Chaknis scored two goals for the Lions to help them earn three points in SCT Group 7. In a Class B North game, Middletown North scored a late goal to break a 1-1 tie against Freehold Boro to earn their third win of the season. The Lions have two Class B North games this week, hosting Red Bank Regional on Monday and traveling to St. Rose on Saturday. Middletown North will battle their second top ten opponent when they travel to No. 5 Howell in a SCT Group 7 game. If Middletown North wins this game, they will control their own destiny in winning Group 7.

9. Wall (2-1) Last Week: 5 –. Wall has scored 11 goals in their two wins, but was shutout in their only game against a ranked opponent, losing to No. 5 Howell 3-0 in the Knights first game in Class A North. Wall rebounded to get revenge on last season’s loss against Manchester in the SCT Group stage to win 5-1 and earn three points in Group 6. Freshman Gemma Brett has stepped into the starting line-up to help spark the offense, scoring two goals in her first three games. Wall has a big week ahead of them, traveling to No. 1 Manalapan on Monday and No. 4 Red Bank Catholic on Saturday in two Class A North games. The Crimson Knights host Marlboro on Wednesday in a SCT Group 6 game.
10. Trinity Hall (3-1) Last Week: 6 – Trinity Hall fell back this week in the rankings after falling to previously unranked Middletown North 4-2 in a SCT Group 7 game. It had been awhile since the Monarchs allowed 4 goals in a game as the last time it happened was against Lacey back in 2021. Trinity Hall rebounded with a 3-0 win over Robbinsville in a nonconference game. All three wins for the Monarchs have been shutouts. Trinity Hall has two Class A Central games this week, hosting Ocean on Monday and traveling to Monmouth on Saturday. Trinity Hall hosts Freehold Township, who is looking to get back into the top ten, on Friday in a non-divisional game.
