2025-2026 Shore Sports Insider Girls Basketball Week 3 Top 10

 

1. Red Bank Catholic (9-1) Last Week: 1 – The Caseys had another undefeated week, going 3-0 overall, and 2-0 in Class A North. In round one of the battles between number one and number two in both the Shore Conference and the state, RBC defeated SJV 62-51. Indiana commit Addy Nyemchek, who was held to five points in the first half, exploded for 17 in the second half. Rhode Island commit Katie Liggio scored 13 of her 15 in the second half. RBC received a tougher than expected test from division rival St. Rose, turning away the Purple Roses 64-53. In the Boardwalk Showcase, RBC rallied to beat NJ’s third-ranked Gloucester Catholic 41-40 on a free throw by Sophie Smith with no time on the clock. RBC takes on Rumson-Fair Haven on Tuesday 1/13 and Red Bank on Thursday 1/15.

2. St. John Vianney (8-1) Last Week: 2 – The Lancers posted a 2-1 week, defeating division opponent Rumson-Fair Haven, 65-17, led by Georgetown commit Stella Lockhart’s game-high 17 points, and Xaverian (NY) 79-39 behind Penn commit Madison Kocis, who scored 21 points. SJV’s only blemish on the season so far was a 62-51 defeat at the hands of rival RBC. Kocis led SJV with 17 points against RBC, including the 1000th point of her career.  SJV takes on three division opponents this week: 1/12 vs Trinity Hall (at The Fort); 1/13 vs Manasquan; and 1/15 at St Rose. SJV will play in the Hoophall Classic on Saturday 1/17 vs Ontario Christian (CA).

3. Manasquan (11-0) Last Week: 3 – The Warriors remained undefeated, going 4-0 on the week. Manasquan defeated two divisional opponents, beating St Rose 62-39 behind 20 points from senior Jordyn Hollowell, and topping Red Bank, 40-33 behind 11 points from senior Shannon Looney. The Warriors stepped outside the Shore Conference and defeated Chatham 41-31, led by sophomore Calista Vowteras, who scored a game-high 17 points. Manasquan also defeated Freehold Township in the Boardwalk Classic on Sunday.  The Warriosw will take on two tough division opponents this week: 1/13 at SJV; and 1/15 at RFH.

4. Trinity Hall (9-1) Last Week: 4 – The Monarchs had an undefeated week, going 3-0. Trinity Hall defeated two Class B North opponents, dispatching Holmdel 51-27 behind Bucknell commit Grace Feeney’s 17 points, before beating Ranney 59-22, led by Feeney again with 17 points. Trinity Hall took on fifth-ranked Red Bank at the Coaches vs Cancer event at Donovan Catholic, defeating the Bucs in a close one, 53-46. Feeney exploded for a game-high 26 points in the win. The Monarchs will take on second-ranked SJV in a non-division game on Monday 1/12 at The Fort before taking on to division foes in Wall on 1/13 and at Howell on 1/16.

5. Rumson-Fair Haven (9-1) Last Week: 6- RFH went 2-1 on the week to improve their record to 9-1. RFH defeated Red Bank 39-36 behind 13 points and 15 rebounds from Brown commit Erin Reid. The only blemish on the Bulldogs record this year was a loss at second-ranked SJV, 65-17. RFH bounced back after the loss to SJV with a 59-41 win over Middletown North. Junior Grace Smith led the Bulldogs with 19 points in the win. RFH has a big workload this week, taking on four teams: 1/12 at Middletown South; 1/13 at RBC; 1/15 vs Manasquan; and 1/17 at Brick Twp.

6. Red Bank (6-3) Last Week: 5 – The Bucs had a rough week, losing all three of their games, with two of the losses coming to teams ranked ahead of them in the Shore Sports Insider Top 10. RBR lost to Rumson-Fair Haven 39-36. Senior Synai Blychanton led the Bucs with 19 points. RBR lost to third-ranked Manasquan 40-33. Sophomore Casey Miranda led RBR with 10 points in the loss. The Bucs took on fourth-ranked Trinity Hall in the Coaches vs. Cancer event at Donovan Catholic and lost a close one, 53-46. Blychanton led Red Bank with 14 in the loss. RBR takes on two division opponents this week: 1/13 vs St Rose; and 1/15 at RBC.

7. Colts Neck (8-2) Last Week: 8 – The Cougars had an undefeated week, going 3-0. Colts Neck started the week by defeating two divisional opponents: a 65-38 win over Ranney behind 17 points and 13 rebounds by sophomore Julianna Jasina, and a surprisingly easy win over Howell, 53-24 behind 14 points each by Jasina and fellow sophomore Allison McAndrew. Colts Neck also defeated non-conference opponent Mount St Mary, 46-19, in the Coaches vs Cancer event at Donovan Catholic. Jasina led all scorers with 13 in the win. Colts Neck takes on three Shore Conference opponents this week: 1/13 at Holmdel; 1/16 at Wall; and 1/17 at St. Rose.

8. Neptune (5-0) Last Week: 10 – The Scarlet Fliers went undefeated this week, going 2-0, both against Class A Central opponents.  Neptune defeated Middletown South 56-27 behind 16 points from junior Lana Ellington. Ellington then exploded for a career-high 22 points in a 54-29 win over Freehold Boro. Neptune takes on three opponents this coming week: 1/13 vs Freehold Twp; 1/15 at Marlboro; and 1/16 at Ocean.

9. Toms River East (5-3) Last Week: Unranked – The Raiders went 2-0 for the week, raising their record to 5-3. Toms River East took care of division opponent Jackson, 47-31, behind 13 points from junior Libby Dickman. The Raiders went out of division and defeated Howell 51-46, led by sophomore Ciley Francis’ 17 points. Toms River East takes on two division opponents this week: 1/13 at Manchester; and 1/15 at Point Boro. The Raiders also play cross-town rival Toms River North on 1/17.

10. Howell (7-3) Last Week: 7 – The Rebels started out their week with two wins before losing their next two contests. Howell defeated Wall 48-30 behind 18 points and eight rebounds from junior Kylee Beam. Howell also defeated Brick 43-38 behind 19 and 12 from Beam.  Howell lost to division rival Colts Neck 53-24, and non-division opponent Toms River East 51-46. Howell has two games this week, both against division opponents: 1/13 at Ranney; and 1/16 vs Trinity Hall.
