2025-2026 Shore Sports Insider Girls Basketball Week 5 Top 10

 

1. St. John Vianney (14-2) Last Week: 2 – The Lancers moved into the top spot in the Shore Conference rankings after defeating formerly top-ranked Red Bank Catholic on Thursday 61-52. Senior Madison Kocis scored a career-high 27 points to lead SJV and even up the season series with the Caseys. The Lancers started the week with a convincing win over divisional opponent Red Bank and ended the week with a non-conference win over Bishop Eustace. SJV and RBC are tied for the top spot in Class A North and likely will finish as co-champs unless another team can manage to pull off a major upset. SJV will travel to No. 4 Rumson-Fair Haven on Tuesday and No. 3 Manasquan on Friday. The Lancers will close the week against Morris Catholic, who is ranked No. 5 in the state according to NJ Advance Media, in the More Than A Highlight Showcase at Franklin High School on Saturday.

2. Red Bank Catholic (14-2) Last Week: 1 – RBC dropped out of the top spot for the first time this season after losing their first Shore Conference game of the season against rival SJV on Thursday. The Caseys rebounded with a strong 55-32 win over Lenape, who is ranked No. 14 in New Jersey. RBC opened the week with a Class A North win over No. 3 Manasquan 54-28. The Caseys will host St. Rose on Tuesday and travel to No. 4 Rumson-Fair Haven on Thursday in two divisional games. RBC ends the week on Sunday against Paul VI in the Coaches Choice Shore Challenge at Holmdel High School. Paul VI, who is currently ranked No. 6 in New Jersey, ended the Caseys’ season last year in the South Jersey Non-Public A championship.

3. Manasquan (14-2) Last Week: 3 – The Warriors opened the week with a loss to RBC 54-28. Both of the Warriors losses this season have come to the top two teams in the Shore Conference. Manasquan rebounded with a victory over rival St. Rose and a non-conference win over Moorestown in the South vs Shore Showcase. Senior Jordyn Hollawell had a combined 38 points and 7 steals in Manasquan’s two wins this week. Manasquan travels to Red Bank on Tuesday and hosts No. 1 St. John Vianney on Friday in Class A North action. The Warriors will take on St. Joseph by the Sea (NY) on Sunday in the Coaches Choice Shore Challenge at Holmdel High School.

4. Rumson-Fair Haven (14-3) Last Week: 4 – Rumson-Fair Haven held strong in the number four spot for the third straight week after they went 3-0. The Bulldogs opened the week with a hotly contested 58-55 win over St. Rose on Monday. Senior forward Erin Reid posted her tenth double-double of the season with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Rumson-Fair Haven followed that up with a 46-31 win over rival Red Bank and closed out the week with a 41-31 victory over No. 5 Neptune. Junior Chloe Kelly scored a career-high 21 points in that game. The Bulldogs have the most difficult week of any team this season ahead of them. On Tuesday, the Bulldogs host No. 1 SJV and follow that up by hosting No. 2 RBC on Thursday in back-to-back divisional clashes. Rumson-Fair Haven will then play St. Thomas Aquinas, who is ranked No. 12 in New Jersey, on Sunday in the Coaches Choice Shore Challenge at Holmdel High School.

5. Neptune (10-1) Last Week: 5 – The Scarlet Fliers opened the week with two division wins to improve to 6-0 in Class A Central. Neptune defeated Middletown North 70-45 and followed that with a 47-36 win over Middletown South. The Scarlet Fliers were handed their first defeat of the season against No. 4 Rumson 41-31. Neptune suffered a critical blow when sophomore forward Tyeera Howard, who was averaging 12 points-per-game, left the game in the first quarter with a lower body injury and did not return. Neptune has two division games this week on the road. They travel to Freehold Boro on Tuesday and Freehold Township on Friday. 

 

6. Trinity Hall (13-3) Last Week: 6 – The Monarchs rebounded from their first division loss by defeating Colts Neck 51-47. Freshman Ella Krayl knocked down five three-pointers on her way to a career-high 19 points in the game. Trinity Hall followed that with a 57-35 win over Holmdel to improve to 5-1 in Class B North. Senior Grace Feeney scored 20 points and reached the 1,000 point milestone in the win. Trinity Hall ended the week with a 56-43 non-conference win over Chatham. Trinity Hall hosts Ranney on Tuesday and travels to Wall on Friday in two division games. The Monarchs play Rutgers Prep on Sunday in the Coaches Choice Shore Challenge at Holmdel High School.

7. Colts Neck (12-4) Last Week: 8 – Colts Neck opened the week with a division loss to No. 6 Trinity Hall. The loss created a three-way tie for first place in Class B North with Trinity Hall and Howell. The Cougars rebounded with a 61-44 win over Ranney and 56-28 win over Freehold Township. Sophomore Allison McAndrew scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against Ranney. Colts Neck travels to No. 8 Howell on Tuesday. The Cougars beat Howell 53-24 earlier this season. Colts Neck ends the week hosting Holmdel on Thursday.

8. Howell (12-3) Last Week: 9 – Howell went 3-0 last week, pushing their win streak to five games since dropping two in a row to Toms River East and Colts Neck. The Rebels defeated Holmdel and Wall to improve to 5-1 in Class B North and force a three-way tie with Colts Neck and Trinity Hall. Howell ended the week with a 46-41 win against Eastern in the South vs Shore Showcase at the Riverwinds Convention Center in West Deptford. Junior forward Kylee Beam continues her great season, averaging 18 points-per-game last week. Howell hosts No. 7 Colts Neck on Tuesday with the winner getting a leg-up in Class B North. The Rebels end the week with a division game against Ranney at home and a non-division game against Toms River South on Saturday.

9. Toms River East (10-4) Last Week: 7 – TRE opened the week with a 52-33 win over division opponent Barnegat and followed that with a 48-32 non-divisional win over Southern. Three Raiders scored in double-digits with Libby Dickman leading the team with 18 points. The two wins pushed the Raiders win streak to seven games, but that came to an end on Saturday against Middletown South. TRE, who beat Middletown South in the Kevin Williams Christmas Classic, fell 45-35 in the rematch. TRE sits on top in Class A South with a 4-0 record, but have three straight games against teams in the hunt for a title. The Raiders travel to Jackson on Tuesday and host Manchester on Thursday. TRE defeated Jackson 47-31 in early January and beat Manchester 50-34.

10. Keansburg (12-0) Last Week: Unranked – For the first time in a very long time, the Titans crack the top ten rankings. Keansburg is the last remaining undefeated team in the Shore Conference having won eleven of their twelve victories by double-digits. The Titans started the week with a 53-23 division win against Asbury Park. Keansburg ended the week with two non-division victories over Ocean and Long Branch. Senior Gabriella Flanzbaum is averaging 19 points-per-game and has scored double-digits in all twelve games this season. She is 55 points away from the 1,000 point milestone. Keansburg travels to rival Keyport on Tuesday and hosts Henry Hudson on Friday in two division games. The Titans are in first place in Class C North with a 4-0 record. On Thursday, the Titans host Raritan in a non-division game.
