SSI 2024-2025 Girls Basketball Co-Players of the Year and All-Shore Teams
Doug Brustman contributed to this post.
With the 2024-2025 basketball season coming to an end, all that is left is to post the Player of the Year and All-Shore teams. The Shore Conference is lucky to have two of the best players in the state, who make an impact in every game. After days of going back and forth with these two players, SSI is naming Addy Nyemchek from Red Bank Catholic and Jada Lynch from St. Rose the Co-Players of the Year.
Co-Players of the Year

She has been called a “unicorn” and “Larry Bird”- one thing everyone can agree on when it comes to Addy Nyemchek – she is great! The Shore Sports Insider Co-Player of the Year, Nyemchek, a junior from RBC, had a stellar season. Leading the No. 1 team in the Shore, Nyemchek averaged 14.1 ppg and 6.8 rpg and was one of three Caseys to reach the 1,000-point milestone. Nyemchek was the key cog in a team that went 27-5, and won the Class A Coastal division as well as the Shore Conference Tournament. When the game is on the line, you know she is getting the ball and she has delivered time and time again. In the Caseys comeback win against St. Rose in the SCT final, Nyemchek knocked down two foul shots to tie the game and then found Tessa Carman in the closing seconds for the game-winning basket. Unfortunately for St. Rose that would not be the last time Nyemchek would ruin their night. In the South Jersey Non-Public A semifinal, Nyemchek hit a shot to tie the game in the closing seconds and drew the foul. The 85 % foul shooter knocked the free throw to give RBC the win.
Jada Lynch, Junior, St. Rose

Strong. Aggressive. Fearless. Finisher. Those are just some of the adjectives tossed around about Jada Lynch, a junior guard at St. Rose, and the Shore Sports Insider Co-Player of the Year. Lynch had a phenomenal junior year, averaging 18.6 ppg and 6.6 rpg and reaching the 1,000-point milestone. Lynch saved her best games for RBC, the No. 1 team in the Shore. In the first meeting, she erupted for a career-high 40 points. Lynch added 17 in the Shore Conference Tournament final and scored 30 in the South Jersey Non-Public A semifinals against the Caseys. Lynch scored in double-digits in all but two games this season. Her physical and aggressive style allowed her to get to the free-throw line 135 times this season. Lynch went a perfect 14-for-14 in the sectional semifinals to set a career high.

Shea Donnelly, Senior, Manasquan

After coming off the bench last season for a Manasquan team with a deep senior class, Donnelly stepped into the starting lineup and led the team in scoring with 311 points (10.3 ppg). Donnelly, who is committed to Colby next season, was a threat from outside the arc and has the ability to take it to the basket. She scored a career-high 33 points against Neptune when she knocked down seven 3-pointers. She is also a tough defender, being named to the SSI All-Defensive Team. Last year coming off the bench and playing more of a defensive role, this season she would play all over for the Warriors, covering a guard on the perimeter or playing defense in the post.
Mackenzie Teevan, Senior, Holmdel

Teevan played an important role this season for Holmdel not just on the court, but off the court as well. The Holy Cross commit was the only senior on a team with just sophomores and freshmen. Not only did she lead the team with 500 points and average a double-double for the season, she mentored the talented young Hornets all season. Her leadership on and off the court will pay off the next three seasons for Holmdel. Teevan finished the season with 18 double-doubles and scored over 30 points three times, with a career-high 37 points early in the year. She also grabbed 15 or more rebounds six times this season.
Cassidy Kruesi, Senior, St. Rose

Kruesi, who has been known for her defense the last two seasons, became a reliable second scorer for St. Rose this season, finishing with 393 points for an average of 14 per game. She improved on her 3-point shooting, draining 74 3-pointers on the season to be one of the Shore Conference leaders. Kruesi, who is committed to Tampa University next year, reached the 1,000-point milestone this season during the Shore Conference Tournament final. She had seven games with four or more 3-pointers, including seven against Shore in the second round of the SCT. On the defensive side of the floor, Kruesi was not afraid to play physical and caused problems for opposing guards.
Christina Liggio, Senior, Red Bank Catholic

Liggio started her RBC career as Freshman of the Year and ends her career as an SCT champion, state champion and All-Shore first-team player. On a team loaded with talent, Liggio finished second in points with 346, which was 10.8 points per game. She did everything on the court for RBC, finishing with 82 assists and 53 steals. Liggio, who is entering the U.S. Naval Academy next year, also had a habit of knocking down big shots when RBC needed them.
