Top Mental Game Shore Conference Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week

May 12 to May 22

 

Matt Avivi, Sr., Midfield, Manalapan

-After becoming the program’s all-time leading goal scorer earlier this month, Avivi became the first player in program history with 100 goals by scoring 10 times in three games, including five goals in a 7-4 win over Old Bridge.

 

Nicholas Caruso, Jr., Attack, Toms River East

-Became Toms River East’s single-season goals leader (72) and reached 100 points on the season by scoring 12 goals and adding five assists in four games as the Raiders reached the SCT quarterfinals, clinched their first division title in program history, and picked up a notable 8-6 win over Holmdel.

 

Patrick Freud, Jr., Midfield, Wall

-Scored a career-high five goals and added two assists in an 18-4 win over Middletown South in the Shore Conference Tournament round of 16. Totaled nine goals and six assists in four games.

 

Matt Hillin, Sr., G, Brick Memorial

-Made 44 saves and allowed just nine goals in three games to help lead Brick Memorial to the Coaches Cup championship. Hillin had a game-saving save with under 30 seconds to play when the Mustangs defeated Colts Neck, 6-5, in the semifinals. He finished a five-game stretch with 66 saves and 17 goals allowed.

 

Brandon Kunz, Sr., Attack, Manasquan

-The Lehigh signee scored a career-high seven goals and added one assist in the SCT championship game to conclude a three-game SCT run where he scored 12 goals and assisted on four more.

 

Luke Lydon, Jr., Attack, Rumson-Fair Haven

-The Boston University commit scored 13 goals and dished out three assists in three games to lead Rumson’s offense as the Bulldogs captured their 10th Shore Conference Tournament championship. Scored four goals in a 15-14 overtime win over Manasquan in the final.

 

Kyle Sininsky, So., Midfield, Southern

-Scored seven goals and distributed 11 assists in three games to reach the 100-career-point milestone.

 

Luke Tortorici, Sr., Midfield, Barnegat

-Became Barnegat’s all-time leading goal scorer with 123 and counting by scoring 11 goals in four games. He also added five assists to go over 100 points on the season

 

Justin Valentino, So., Red Bank

-Scored a career-high five goals and added three assists to lead the Bucs to a 17-7 win over Barnegat in the Shore Conference Tournament quarterfinals. Added two goals and two assists in a 10-4 win over Middletown North.

 

Lukas Villa, Sr., Midfield, Shore

-Scored a career-high six goals to lead the Blue Devils to a 17-4 win over Toms River East in the SCT quarterfinals. Totaled eight goals and three assists in three games.
