Senior Nolan Arnold, senior Clyde Ferris and junior Paul Kennedy combined for 61 points and the Warriors (2-0, 1-0) rolled to a win over the Lions (0-4, 0-1). Arnold led the way with 25 points, while Ferris poured in 22 and Kennedy chipped in 14.
Senior Teagan Gillespie led Lacey with 11 points.
Non-Division
No. 4 Jackson 48, No. 2 Manasquan 42
Senior George Boley scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half and the Jaguars (4-0) locked down on defense to close out a home win over the Warriors (0-2) that extends their season-opening winning streak to four.
Boley also grabbed five rebounds, while sophomore Mi’Aire Anderson helped control the paint with 12 rebounds and three blocked shots to go with his nine points. Senior Jimmy Pappalardo hit three three-pointers in the final 2:30 of the second quarter and scored again in the first two minutes of the third to account for all 11 of his points in the game. Pappalardo also pulled in five rebounds and blocked a pair of shots.
Sophomore Sean Bilodeau matched Boley with 17 points to lead Manasquan, while senior Jack O’Reilly battled Anderson on the inside to the tune of seven points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. Sophomore Noah Matuch also hit three three-pointers for nine points and pulled in seven rebounds for the Warriors, who held Jackson scoreless over the final six-plus minutes, but managed only seven points of their own during that stretch.
No. 7 Holmdel 63, Ranney 55
Senior Jack Vallillo scored a game-high 20 points and the Hornets (1-0) seized control of the game with an 18-7 third-quarter run, the deciding blow in a season-opening win over the Panthers (1-1).
Senior Connor Paul chipped in 16 points and junior Elliot Bronowich poured in 13 behind three three-pointers for Holmdel.
Senior Shaan Nayar led Ranney with 18 points, with sophomore teammate A.J. Mizhir also kicking in 16 points and seven rebounds. Junior Andrew Mardahaev contributed 13 points and three steals, while junior Ben Schaeffer pitched in four points, six rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocked shots in the loss.
Ocean 67, Shore 48
Senior Aidan Saint Louis and sophomore Brody Bell each scored 12 points and the Spartans (2-0) rode a balanced attack to a road with over the Blue Devils (0-2), with five players notching at least nine points.
Freshman Omar Ayyash dropped 11 points and twin brother Ahmad chipped in 10 for Ocean, while senior Jameson McAllister drained three three-pointers for nine points. Senior Andrew Barham scored 12 points to lead Shore and Ryan Barham threw in nine in the loss.
Point Beach 79, Henry Hudson 51
Junior Tyler Preston led four Point Beach players in double-figure scoring with 17 points and also dished out five assists to lead a Garnet Gulls (2-0) win over the Admirals (0-2).
Junior Ryan Mahoney posted 14 points, six rebounds and six assists, while senior Elijah Ives added 11 points and classmate Jacob Edgecomb threw in 10 for Point Beach. Senior Chris Mosco also netted nine points in the win.
Junior JoJo Newell poured in a game-high 19 points to lead Henry Hudson, while senior teammate Billy Quinn added 12 and junior Blakely Smith netted 10 in the loss.
Pinelands 50, Keyport 41
Junior Chris Husni scored 13 points and classmate Cayden Lucas added 12 to help the Wildcats (2-1) overcome an eight-point deficit through one quarter and pick up a win over the Red Raiders (1-1).
Senior Kai Arrington scored a game-high 16 points to lead Keyport and classmate Jermaine Bardon chipped in 10 in the loss.
Toms River South 70, Lakewood 22
Senior Shane Gambarony scored a game-high 20 points to go with three assists and three steals as the Indians (2-0) coasted to a win over the Piners (0-2).
Senior Kharii Pringle added 11 points, four assists and three steals for Toms River South. Senior Brady Gibson netted nine points and senior Jacob Myers contributed six points and 10 rebounds in the win.
Junior Anderson Vargas scored nine points and sophomore Abel Martinez threw in seven to lead Lakewood.
Manalapan 70, Middletown North 52
Senior Dean Aviles scored 18 points and junior Greyson Ferraro knocked down 16 to power the Braves (1-1) to a road win over the Lions (0-2). Junior Cameron Desfosse added 11 points, freshman Josh Sosinov netted nine and junior Cooper Levy threw in eight for Manalapan.
Freshman Branden Estrada led Middletown North with 18 points, including three three-pointers and a 5-for-5 game at the free-throw line. Junior Nate Tyburczy pitched in seven points, four assists and three steals in the loss.
No. 8 Wall 57, St. Rose 46
Senior Brian McKenna scored 16 of his game-high 22 points in the first half and the Crimson Knights (1-0) finished off a season-opening win over the Purple Roses (0-3).
McKenna’s hot start jump-started Wall toward a 28-18 halftime lead. Senior Dan Hennessy and senior Jake DeBrito each added 10 points, with Hennessy also contributing eight rebounds and six assists. Senior Tyler Cameron led St. Rose with 17 points.
Central 39, Brick Memorial 38
Junior Derek Roth scored 21 points and senior Elijah Reeder put up 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Golden Eagles (1-0) to an opening-night win at home over the Mustangs (1-1).
Senior Sean Collins led Brick Memorial with 17 points and classmate Austin Braaten threw in nine in defeat.
Red Bank 35, Colts Neck 23
Senior Josiah Johnson scored 16 points and the Bucs (1-2) battled past the Cougars in a defensive struggle that earned Red Bank its first win of the year and dealt Colts Neck (0-1) a loss in its season-opener.
Junior Justin Valentino added nine points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals and sophomore Randy Peterson chipped in six points and six rebounds for Red Bank.
Sophomore Nate Sloane scored 15 of Colts Neck’s 23 points, with seniors Dillon Younger (five) and Liam Collura accounting for the only other scoring by the Cougars.
Freehold Boro 62, Raritan 51
Senior Mike Cush scored 21 points and classmate Max Girandola added 19 to spark the Colonials (1-1) to a road win over the Rockets (1-1).
Sophomore Mario Diamantis led Raritan with 10 points, with senior Anthony Fazioli, senior James Dillon and junior Erig Berg all scoring nine apiece in the loss.
