(5) Red Bank Catholic 50, (6) Central 43

Junior Ryder Ciorciari, senior Ryan Saxton and junior Tyler Hager each reached double-figure scoring while doing most of the damage on offense in the second half, leading the Caseys (4-2) to a fifth-place win over the Golden Eagles (3-2).

Ciorciari scored 10 of his game-high 13 points in the second half, Saxton scored nine of his 11 after halftime and Hager posted eight of his 10 points after the break. Senior James Hankowski also connected for nine points on three three-pointers, including a pair during the first quarter.

Central held RBC to one point in the second quarter and led, 19-14, at halftime before a 21-10 fourth quarter by the Caseys flipped the game. Hager hit a pair of three-pointers in the fourth and Saxton converted a key three-point play as part of a five-point quarter.

Sophomore Jaxen Carter led Central with 10 points, including three three-pointers. Junior Cijier Yates added nine points and senior Elijah Reeder chipped in eight points and eight rebounds for Central.

Seventh-Place Game

(8) Point Beach 48, (7) Brick Memorial 44

Junior Ryan Mahoney scored a game-high 16 points and the Garnet Gulls (5-2) worked their way past the Mustangs (3-4) to salvage a win in the Kevin Williams Christmas Classic.

Junior Tyler Preston hit a pair of three-pointers in the third quarter on the way to nine points, while senior Jacob Edgecomb scored all seven of his points for Point Beach in the second quarter.

Senior Sean Collins scored 12 points to lead Brick Memorial, including eight in the second quarter. Sophomore Luka Begashvili added nine points for Brick Memorial.

Fifth-Place Game

(12) Middletown North 53, (14) Brick 51

Senior Nate Tyburczy scored 17 points and freshman Jaden Estrada chipped in 11 to lead the Lions (2-4) over the Green Dragons (1-5) for a fifth-place finish in the Gepp Bracket.

Freshman Nick DiGiovanni also pitched in nine points for Middletown North. Junior Ryan Tufaro led a balanced Brick offense with 13 points, while junior Jamel Pitts, junior Sean Nausedas and sophomore Jaden Johnson each added 12 in the loss.

Seventh-Place Game

(15) Toms River South 76, (16) Manchester 38

Senior Jacob Myers scored 19 points and classmates Kharii Pringle and Shane Gambarony added 15 each to lead the Indians (4-3) over the Hawks (1-5) in Toms River South’s first win at this year’s Kevin Williams Classic.

Junior Nate Johnson hit three-three-pointers for nine points for Toms River South. Senior James Ruocchio led Manchester with 10 points.

(2) Howell 63, (3) East Brunswick 59

Senior Cayden Parker scored 15 of his team-high 19 points in the second half and the Rebels (4-1) rode a big third quarter before holding off a late push to beat the previously-unbeaten Bears (6-1).

Parker also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists while continuing his strong start to the season. Junior Jayson Parker scored nine of his 16 points in the third quarter and handed out three assists, junior Eddie Garcia contributed 14 points, six rebounds and four assists, and junior Noah Musto added nine points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shot for Howell.

Howell seized control of the game with a 24-3 run during the third quarter that flipped a 25-21 deficit in the opening minute of the quarter to a 44-28 lead in the final 1:30. Both Parker brothers and Garcia combined for all 23 points during the run, with Cayden and Jayson each scoring nine and Garcia throwing in five.

(4) Marlboro 53, (1) Red Bank 51

Junior Dylan McEwan erupted for 14 of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter and fellow junior Nolan Gong scored seven of his 14 in the fourth quarter as the Mustangs (4-0) held on to beat the Bucs (3-4) for the second time in eight days — this time to advance to the Buc Classic championship game Tuesday against Howell.

Senior Drew Lubeck added eight points and had a key blocked shot that sent the ball into the stands under the basket with 0.2 seconds left. Red Bank could not get off a shot on the ensuing inbounds play.

Junior Will Galligan led Red Bank with 19 points, including nine during a third-quarter run that launched Red Bank back into the game. The Bucs went on an 11-0 run near the end of the quarter to go up 42-39, but Marlboro swung back with a 9-0 run to go back up by six.

Junior Justin Valentino also threw in 13 points for Red Bank, which will play East Brunswick Tuesday in the third-place game.

(5) Middletown South 77, (8) Long Branch 54

Senior Matt Trimble scored 20 points while shooting 5-for-6 from three-point range and freshman Evan Wells poured in 15 to lead the Eagles (4-1) over the Green Wave (2-3) and into Tuesday’s fifth-place game against Ranney.

Senior Josh Da Cruz led Long Branch with 22 points.

(6) Ranney 82, (7) Old Bridge 71

Senior Shaan Nayar pumped in 31 points with five three-pointers and the Panthers (2-2) won a barn-burner over the Knights (1-5) to grab a spot in the fifth-place game Tuesday on the final day of the Buc Classic.

Junior Andrew Mardahaev hit three threes on the way to 17 points, sophomore A.J. Mizhir chipped in 13 points and junior Ben Schaeffer pitched in 11 points for Ranney, which will play Middletown South in the fifth-place game on Tuesday.

Junior Noah Perna returned to the lineup to score a career-high 36 points, but Marvin McNeill countered with 33, including the game-winning free throw with 2.1 seconds left in overtime that delivered the Cardinals (4-3) a win over the Rams (3-2) and a trip to the Score at the Shore final Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

Perna also grabbed six rebounds and handed out six assists, while senior teammate Jake Sliwinski put up 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Sliwinski hit three free throws with 10.5 seconds left in overtime to tied the game, 65-65, before McNeill drove to the basket to draw the foul that gave him the deciding free-throw attempts.

Junior Nicky Mejia scored a game-high 19 points, but the Lancers (1-5) lost a hard-fought battle with the Golden Eagles (3-3) to fall into the seventh-place game Tuesday vs. Pleasantville.

Junior Danny O’Neill chipped in 13 points and classmate Dan Lavan added 11 for St. John Vianney.

Junior Spencer Schoenfeld scored a career-high 23 points and the Braves (3-1) topped the host Scarlet Fliers (1-3) to advance to the Jubilee championship game Tuesday against Allentown.

Senior Dean Aviles poured in 15 points, junior Cooper Levy knocked down 10 and freshman Josh Sosinov pitched in nine for Manalapan. Senior C.J. Evans led Neptune with 13 points.

Semifinals

Morris Knolls 68, Ocean 49

Freshmen twins Omar and Ahmad Ayyash each scored 16 points, but the Spartans (4-2) could not contend with the Golden Eagles (4-1), who were led by Brody Halik’s 29 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Monmouth 53, Point Boro 49

Javon Bowles hit a go-ahead three-pointer to put Monmouth ahead, 50-49, with a minute to go and the Falcons (4-0) pulled out a first-round win over the host Panthers (1-3) to pick up their fourth straight win to open the season.

Junior Logan Conrade led Monmouth with 18 points and senior Michael Griffin added 12 on four three-pointers for the Falcons. Senior Jovin Steinmetz led Point Boro with a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds and junior Hunter Hynes added 10 points to go with three steals in the loss.

Semifinals

Pinelands 50, Asbury Park 29

Senior Josh Barongo led a well-rounded effort by the Wildcats (4-1) with nine points and nine rebounds to key a round-one win over the Blue Bishops (0-3), placing Pinelands in the tournament championship on Wednesday.

Junior Chris Husni also netted nine points for Pinelands, while junior Ryan Monroe led Asbury Park with a game-high 12 points.

Shore 68, Lacey 27

Junior Maddox Paulin scored 16 points and the Blue Devils (2-2) routed the Lions (0-6) to secure their spot in the DuBois championship game Wednesday at noon against Pinelands.

Seniors Andrew Barham and Finn Watson each added 14 points for Shore, while senior Teagan Gillespie led Lacey with 13 points.

Hunterdon Central 46, Hamilton West 43

New Egypt 60, Steinert 43

Nolan Arnold scored 23 points and fellow senior Clyde Ferris added 18 as the Warriors (4-1) broke open the game with a big third quarter that took down the Spartans (0-5) and sent New Egypt to the tournament final Tuesday vs. Hunterdon Central. The Warriors outscored Steinert, 16-8, in the third quarter to open up a 12-point lead heading to the fourth.

Junior JoJo Newell scored a game-high 22 points and the Admirals (2-2) sailed to a one-sided win over the Rams (0-5) to earn a spot in the tournament final on Tuesday. Junior Blakely Smith added 14 points, senior Masion Tucker poured in 13 and senior Billy Quinn netted 12 to support the Henry Hudson cause.

Keansburg 83, South Amboy 68

Senior A’Son Young scored a game-high 25 points and the Titans (2-1) trucked the previously-unbeaten Governors (5-1) to set up a championship duel with division rival Henry Hudson in Tuesday’s tournament final.

Sophomore Taurian Black added 15 points and senior Milan Mraz netted 13 for Keansburg. Sophomore Daizhan Jones netted nine points and Jaivon Thomas-Conklin threw in eight in the win.

Roselle Park 73, Keyport 70

Senior Kai Arrington scored a career-high 32 points and senior teammate Casey McCarthy also set a career-best with 16, but the standout days for the two Keyport seniors were not enough for the Red Raiders (2-2) against the Panthers (1-3). Nicola Padgorica led Roselle Park with 30 points.
