Senior Shane Gambarony scored a game-high 29 points, including 10-for-11 shooting from the free-throw line, to lead the Indians (3-0) past the Redbirds (2-2) for their third straight win to open the season.
Senior Jacob Myers went for 20 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots, while classmate Kharii Pringle added 12 points, four assists and five steals for Toms River South. Senior Brady Gibson also contributed four points, eight rebounds and three steals in the victory.

Point Beach 53, Matawan 37
Junior George Breckenridge scored a game-high 17 points and the Garnet Gulls (3-0) pulled away to beat the Huskies (1-2) for their third straight win to open the season.
Junior Tyler Preston added 14 points, while senior Elijah Ives and junior Ryan Mahoney each chipped in eight for Point Beach, with Mahoney also handing out five assists.
Senior Trevor Cole led Matawan with seven points.
Neptune 69, New Egypt 48
Senior C.J. Evans scored a team-high 21 points to go with six rebounds and four assists in leading the Scarlet Fliers (1-1) over the Warriors (2-1), handing New Egypt its first loss of 2025-26.
Senior Jordan Pierre posted 16 points, 11 rebounds and six assists to aid the Neptune cause and senior Marc Alston contributed to a dominant rebounding effort with eight boards.
Senior Nolan Arnold led New Egypt with a game-high 25 points, while classmate Clyde Ferris chipped in 15 in the loss.
No. 3 Rumson-Fair Haven 74, St. John Vianney 43
Less than 48 hours after scoring a career-high 38 points in a win at Red Bank Catholic, senior Luke Lydon followed up his big scoring night with 26 points Saturday to lead the Bulldogs (4-0) to a win over the Lancers (0-2) that pushes their winning streak to four to open the season.
Lydon scored nine points in the third quarter and 24 through three quarters before he and his team coasted to the final buzzer. Junior Casey Moore poured in 12, while freshman Clint Martin and sophomore J.P. Quirk each added eight for Rumson.
Junior Nicky Mejia led St. John Vianney with nine points, which came on three first-half three-pointers.

Freehold Boro 62, Monroe 59 (OT)
Senior Joe Haney hit a pair of free throws to tie the game with 0.6 seconds left in overtime and finished with 12 points to help the Colonials (2-1) pull out an overtime road win over the Falcons (0-3).
Senior Mike Cush led Freehold with 18 points, while seniors Damier Lester and Max Girandola each added nine in the win.
Brick Memorial 45, Princeton 38
Senior Sean Collins scored a game-high 19 points and sophomore Luka Begashvili contributed a double-double as the Mustangs (2-1) battled past the Little Tigers (0-3).
Begashvili put up 11 points and 11 rebounds, while senior Nyzier Matthews added nine points and three steals and senior point guard Jason Lajara pitched in two points and three steals to go with his eight assists.

No. 1 CBA 62, Hudson Catholic 39
Junior Avery Lynch scored 16 points while grabbing seven rebounds and sophomore Izayah Cooper pitched in 13 points and six assists to help lead the Colts (3-0) to a convincing win over the Hawks (1-2) — the No. 8 team in the NJ Advance Media Top 20 to open the season.
Junior David Buley added nine points and eight rebounds for CBA, which held Hudson Catholic scoreless for the first 7:50 of the game, then without a field goal for a stretch of eight minutes between the third and fourth quarters. Senior Connor Andree also chipped in seven points, six rebounds and three assists in the win.
Noreaga James led Hudson Catholic with a game-high 27 points.

Ocean 57, Hightstown 41
Senior Aidan Saint Louis carried the offense with a game-high 26 points and the Spartans (3-0) cruised past the Rams (0-3) for their third straight win to open the season. Sophomore Brody Bell and freshman Ahmad Ayyash led a balanced supporting cast for Ocean with six points each.
Howell 76, Steinert 49
Senior Cayden Parker scored 17 of his game-high 28 points in the first half and the Rebels (2-1) rolled to a win over the Spartans (0-3). Junior Jayson Parker chipped in 16 points, while junior Noah Musto added 13 and senior Chris Kahwaty poured in nine on three three-pointers for Howell.
No. 6 Freehold Twp. 53, Lawrence 50
Junior Jake Schultzel scored 17 points and classmate John O’Neill posted 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals to help the Patriots (1-1) fight back for a win over the Cardinals (2-2) after trailing by two heading into the fourth quarter.
Junior Cole Gerigk added nine points for Freehold Township, which jumped out to a 12-5 lead through one quarter before Lawrence won the second and third quarters by a combined score of 32-23.
Manalapan 55, Robbinsville 52
Senior Dean Aviles scored 10 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and the Braves (2-1) surged past the Ravens (1-3) in the final eight minutes after trailing from the first-through-third quarters.
Junior Luis Velez came off the bench to deliver a key blocked shot before finishing off the basket that capped Manalapan’s scoring from the field in the final minute of the fourth quarter.
Red Bank 41, West Windsor-Plainsboro North 39
Junior Justin Valentino led a balanced scoring effort with 11 points and the Bucs (2-2) slipped past the Knights (1-4), with junior Chris Doody hitting the go-ahead free throw with under a minute to go.
Doody finished with 10 points and fellow junior Jack Forsyth chipped in eight points and three steals for Red Bank.
Middletown South 60, Notre Dame 59
Freshman Ryan Gannon drove into the lane and hit the go-ahead shot with five seconds left and the Eagles (2-0) earned the stop on the other end to close out a thrilling win over the Irish (1-3).
Gannon led all scorers with 18 points, while fellow freshman Evan Wells put up 11 points and 10 rebounds for Middletown South. Senior Beckett Oliver also flirted with a double-double for the Eagles, posting 10 points and eight rebounds.
Manchester 64, West Windsor-Plainsboro South 55 (OT)
Sophomore Justin Roberts scored a career-high 27 points, including an 11-for-12 showing from the free-throw line, to lead the Hawks (1-2) to an overtime win over the Pirates (0-5).
Roberts hit three free throws with under a minute to go to giver Manchester a 50-49 lead in the fourth quarter, but West Windsor-Plainsboro South hit a free throw on the other end to send the game to overtime.
Junior Orion Andrews added 15 points and 10 rebounds, including Manchester’s first six points of overtime, which gave the Hawks a 56-52 lead.

Overbrook 52, No. 5 Southern 45
Senior Jake Sliwinski scored 16 points and junior Gavin Gerckens put up 15, but Overbrook (3-0) surged ahead in the third quarter and the Southern (2-1) offense went cold in the fourth quarter in a showcase loss.
Sliwinski and Gerckens each scored all put two of their point totals in the first three quarters. Overbrook outscored Southern, 21-13, in the third and held the Rams to eight points in the fourth while mustering 10 to put the game away.
Southern played without All-Shore junior guard Noah Perna, who served the first of a two-game suspension stemming from an ejection from Wednesday’s win at Toms River North. The Rams return to action Saturday in the second round of the Score at the Shore Holiday Classic at Southern.
Cherry Hill East 91, Toms River North 38
Sophomore Jake Greenberg scored a team-high 11 points for Toms River North, but the Mariners (1-2) were no match for the Cougars (3-0), coming off 26 wins and a trip to the South Jersey Group VI final, followed by two prior one-sided wins to start the 2025-26 season.
