No. 1 CBA 74, St. Rose 43
Sophomore Izayah Cooper scored 15 points and senior Connor Andree poured in 12 to lead the Colts (8-1, 2-0) to a comfortable win over the Purple Roses (1-9, 0-2) that was not so comfortable at halftime.
Senior O’Rien Campbell scored 15 points to lead St. Rose, which trailed the Shore’s No. 1 team, 33-29, at halftime before CBA outscored the Purple Roses, 18-7, in the third quarter and blew the game open with a 23-7 fourth. Junior David Buley added nine points for CBA, while senior Charlie Messano netted eight in the win.
Senior Tyler Cameron and sophomore Ajay Catania each added 11 points for St. Rose, which faced off against former coach Brian Lynch for the first time since he left the Purple Roses to coach his alma mater, CBA.
No. 9 Manasquan 58, Red Bank 36
Sophomore Sean Bilodeau scored a game-high 17 points and the Warriors (5-4, 2-0) jumped on the Bucs (4-7, 0-2) early on the way to a road win in Little Silver.
Junior Logan Cleveland added 13 points, senior Jack O’Reilly poured in 11 and sophomore Luke Winn chipped in nine for Manasquan, which has averaged 55 points during its three-game winning streak after averaging 31.3 during its three games at the Kevin Williams Christmas Classic. On Thursday, Manasquan opened the game with a 19-7 first quarter and did not look back.
Senior Vin Niesz led Red Bank with eight points.
No. 2 Rumson-Fair Haven 59, Holmdel 53
Senior Luke Lydon scored 13 of his game-high 20 points in the second half and classmate Blake Ahman posted 18 points, 11 rebounds and three steals as the Bulldogs (10-0, 2-0) held off the Hornets (3-3, 0-2) to win their 10th in a row to open the season.
Senior Luke Cruz also chipped in 15 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots before leaving the game with a cut over his eye with 5:21 left in the third quarter. He left the bench for the locker room and did not return to the game.
Senior Jack Vallillo led Holmdel with 15 points, while classmate Connor Paul chipped in 16 points, six rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots, including a chase-down block that directly led to an and-one finish by Vallillo that cut Rumson’s lead to 56-53 with 42.9 seconds left.

Vallillo missed the free throw after the made layup and Rumson broke Holmdel’s pressure to give Ahmann an open layup with under 30 seconds to play. Holmdel missed a pair of shots on the other end before Ahmann stole the ball and made the second of two free throws to seal the victory.
Sophomore Anthony Serini also pitched in 10 points for Holmdel.
Class A Central
No. 7 Howell 52, No. 5 Freehold Twp. 49
Senior Cayden Parker scored a game-high 17 points and the Rebels (6-2, 1-1) bounced back from Monday’s 24-point loss to Wall by taking down the Patriots (6-3, 1-1) in another key, early-season Class A Central game.
Junior John O’Neill scored 14 points, while junior Jake Schultzel and sophomore Aamari Alexander-Monroe added 13 each to lead Freehold Township.
Middletown South 64, Manalapan 56
Senior Matt Trimble scored 18 points and freshman Evan Wells poured in 17 to pace the Eagles (7-2, 2-0) to a win over the Braves (3-4, 0-2). Senior guard and Henry Hudson transfer Michael Fitzpatrick added 11 points in his season debut with Middletown South.
Senior Dean Aviles pumped in a game-high 22 points and junior Grayson Ferraro netted 20 to lead Manalapan.
No. 3 Wall 68, St. John Vianney 42
Senior Liam Killea hit five three-pointers on the way to a game-high 17 points while also dishing out four assists in leading the Crimson Knights (7-0, 2-0) past the Lancers (3-7, 0-2) for their seventh win in a row to open the season.
Killea knocked down three three-pointers in the third quarter as Wall opened up a 52-30 lead heading to the fourth quarter. Senior Brian McKenna contributed 14 points and eight rebounds, while classmate Dan Hennessy pitched in six points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals for Wall.
Junior Nicky Mejia scored 11 points to lead St. John Vianney.
Class B North
Colts Neck 66, Middletown North 44
Colts Neck’s trio of sophomore Nate Sloane and seniors Dillon Younger and Liam Collura combined for 52 points and the Cougars (4-3, 1-1) rolled to a road win over the Lions (2-6, 0-2).
Sloane led the way with 19 points, Younger poured in 17 and Collura threw in 16 in the victory. Junior Nate Tyburczy matched Sloane with a game-high 19 points to lead Middletown North, while senior teammate John Dambaugh added 13.
No. 10 Marlboro 77, Freehold Boro 50
Senior Ajay Mathews scored all of his game-high 20 points in the first three quarters and dished out for assists as the Mustangs (6-2, 1-1) rumbled to a win over the Colonials (5-3, 1-2).
Junior Nolan Gong scored 16 of his 18 points before the fourth quarter to go with five assists and four steals and classmate Dylan McEwan poured in 12 of his points before the fourth, as Marlboro opened up a 63-35 lead on Freehold Boro through three quarters. Senior Christian Elmasri threw in nine points and three assists for Marlboro.
Senior Mike Cush scored 20 points to match Mathews with a game-high and senior Max Girandola added 10 to lead Freehold Boro.
No. 4 Red Bank Catholic 69, Ranney 65
Senior Gavin Biasi hit six of his team’s 11 three-pointers on the way to a game-high 24 points and the Caseys (7-2, 2-0) conquered the Panthers (4-4, 2-1) for their fifth straight win since dropping back-to-back games to No. 2 Rumson-Fair Haven and No. 3 Wall — the lone remaining undefeated teams in the Shore Conference.
Junior Tyler Hager poured in 16 points, senior James Hankowski chipped in 10 with a pair of three-pointers, and sophomore Ryan Bailey knocked down three threes for nine points to bolster the RBC offense.
Junior Jordan Rue led Ranney with 13 points, with senior Shaan Nayar, junior Jonathon Beneche and sophomore A.J. Mizhir each scoring 10 in the loss. Nayar also picked off four steals, while junior teammate Andrew Mardahaev contributed seven points and four assists.
Class B Central
Matawan 46, Neptune 27
Seniors Colin Reitmann and Trevor Cole each scored 13 points and junior Christian Baskerville added 11 to carry the Huskies (5-5, 3-0) to a win over the Scarlet Fliers (2-6, 1-2).
Senior C.J. Evans led Neptune with seven points.
Ocean 47, Long Branch 21
Senior Aidan Saint Louis scored a game-high 16 points, including the 1,000th point of his high school career as the Spartans (6-5, 3-1) handled the Green Wave (3-6, 0-2) on the road. Saint Louis is the 14th player in Ocean boys basketball history to reach the milestone, which he did with a basket in the fourth quarter assisted by his sophomoe brother, Tristan.
Freshman Omar Ayyash added 11 points and sophomore Brody Bell poured in nine for Ocean.

Monmouth 59, Raritan 38
Junior Logan Conrade scored a game-high 20 points and senior Ahmir Wiggins scored 17 in his season debut to lead the Falcons (5-2, 1-1) over the Rockets (3-6, 0-2).
Wiggins played his first two seasons of high school basketball at Monmouth Regional before spending his junior year living in North Carolina. He was required to sit for Monmouth’s first 30 days of this season before becoming eligible on Thursday. Wiggins was Monmouth’s leading scorer and rebounder as a sophomore in 2023-24.
Senior Mario Diamantis scored 11 points and junior Eric Berg added eight to lead Raritan.
Class B South
Toms River North 54, Toms River East 51
Sophomore Jake Greenberg scored a game-high 29 points to out-duel sophomore counterpart Brady Gillen and the rival Raiders (5-3, 1-1) in a Mariners (4-6, 1-1) win that snaps a four-game skid.
Senior Bryce Kazanowsky backed up Greenberg with seven points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots, while junior Logan Brill added seven points, eight rebounds and four steals for Toms River North, which stormed to a 30-18 halftime lead after trailing after one quarter.
Gillen scored 22 points and fellow sophomore Tommy Intintola added 17 for Toms River East, which never got Toms River North’s lower than five points until Gillen hit a shot from beyond midcourt at the final buzzer.
Brick Memorial 43, Toms River South 31
Senior Sean Collins led a balanced offense with 12 points to go with 12 rebounds and three blocked shots as the Mustangs (5-5, 1-1) leaned on their defense to secure a win over the Indians (5-5, 0-2).
Senior Jason Lajara added 10 points, five rebounds and four assists, while junior Tyler Pierce pitched in eight points and four assists. Seniors Austin Braaten and Nyzier Matthews also turned in all-around efforts, with Braaten posting five points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Matthews went for six points and eight rebounds.
Senior Kharii Pringle scored 11 points and classmate Shane Gambarony added 10 points and four steals in the win.
Class C North
Shore 43, Henry Hudson 42
Senior Andrew Barham scored 15 points and classmate Finn Watson added 13 as the Blue Devils (5-3, 2-0) battle past the Admirals (5-3, 1-1) for a key Class C North division win early in the season.
Senior Billy Quinn scored 14 points, junior JoJo Newell added 12 and junior Masio Tucker pitched in 11 to lead Henry Hudson.
Keyport 58, Keansburg 48
Senior Kai Arrington went off for 30 points and the Red Raiders (4-4, 1-1) outscored the Titans (3-3, 0-1), 19-7, in the fourth quarter to pull out a rivalry win.
Juniors Chris Herrara and Demitrius Attia each added 11 points for Keyport. Senior A’Son Young scored 15 points while senior I’Shon Young added 12 to lead Keansburg.
Non-Division
Lakewood 41, Asbury Park 38
Senior Cris Rosario poured in a game-high 22 points and the Piners (1-6) held off the Blue Bishops (0-7) to pick up their first win of the season while handing Asbury Park its seventh straight loss to open its campaign.
Rosario scored 14 of his points in the first half, while Sophomore Abel Martinez added 10 points for the game to aide the Lakewood cause. Ny’John Kirkpatrick scored 16 points and Cam Berardesco chipped in nine to lead Asbury Park.
