Ranney 82, Freehold Boro 55
Senior Shaan Nayar sank 22 points and added five rebounds and four assists to power a Panthers (1-0, 1-0) win over the Colonials (0-1, 0-1) to open the season for both teams in what was the first divisional game played in the Shore Conference in 2025-26.
Four more Ranney players scored at least nine points, led by sophomore Eyan Antoine with 11 to go with his six rebounds and two steals. Junior Andrew Mardahaev and sophomore Jordan Rue each contributed 10 points, with Mardahaev also grabbing eight rebounds and blocking two shots. Junior Jonathan Beneche also netted nine points in the win.
Senior Mike Cush scored a game-high 24 points and classmate Damier Lester added 16 to lead Freehold Boro.
Non-Division
Point Beach 68, Brick 52
Senior Elijah Ives scored 21 points and junior Tyler Preston went for 19 to help the Garnet Gulls (1-0) shake off a slow start and race past the Green Dragons (0-1) with a 43-point second half.
Junior George Breckenridge poured in 13 points thanks to three three-pointers and junior guard and Peddie School transfer Ryan Mahoney posted seven points, five rebounds and six assists in his Point Beach debut.
Junior Jamel Pitts scored 19 points to lead Brick, which led by nine in the final seconds of the first half and took a 31-25 lead into intermission after Tyler Preston’s three-pointer sent the Garnet Gulls into the locker room on a high note.
No. 10 Red Bank Catholic 50, No. 6 Freehold Twp 46
Junior Gavin Biasi scored 11 of his 16 points in the second half and the Caseys (2-0) rallied from an 11-point deficit in the third quarter to take down the Patriots (0-1) on the road in Freehold Township’s season opener.
Biasi scored eight of his points during the fourth quarter, including 3-of-4 free throws in the final 24 seconds to put the game away. Freehold Township took its first lead of the the second half on a three-pointer by senior Ryan Saxton to go up, 47-46, with 2:02 left and did not trail again. RBC forced seven Freehold Township turnovers in the fourth quarter, with Biasi nabbing all three of his steals in the game in the fourth.
Junior Tyler Hager added 13 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots and junior Ryder Ciorciari chipped in eight points, five rebounds and five assists in the win.
Junior Jake Schultzel scored 12 of his 16 points in the first half to lead Freehold Township and also chipped in five rebounds and three blocked shots. Junior John O’Neill added nine points and classmate Cole Gerigk netted seven in the loss. The Patriots opened the game on an 11-0 run and after RBC countered with a 19-4 surge, Freehold Township closed the first half with another 11-0 burst to take a 26-19 lead into halftime. That lead grew to 37-26 before Red Bank Catholic closed with a 24-9 run over the final 11 minutes.
Howell 72, Middletown North 52
Senior Cayden Parker scored a game-high 21 points and hit four of his team’s 13 three-pointers as the Rebels (1-0) ran away with a road win over the Lions (0-1) on opening night.
Junior Jay Parker added 17 points, senior Chris Kahwaty poured in 13 and junior Eddie Garcia pitched in nine for Howell, with Parker and Kahwaty draining three three-pointers apiece.
Junior Nate Tyburczy scored 15 points and senior teammate Jack Kelly added 11 to lead Middletown North.
Middletown South 64, St. Rose 54
Freshman Ryan Gannon scored a game-high 29 points in his high-school debut, including 21 in the second half and 12 unanswered points during the final five minutes of the fourth quarter that proved to be the difference in a season-opening road win for the Eagles (1-0) over the Purple Roses (0-2).
Senior Matt Trimble and freshman Evan Wells each added eight points for Middletown South, which finished the game with a 14-3 run.
Senior Tyler Cameron scored 23 points and senior O’Rien Campbell poured in 18 to lead St. Rose. Sophomore Ajay Catania also drained 13 points for the Purple Roses.
Ocean 53, Henry Hudson 46
Freshman Omar Ayyash scored a game-high 22 points to go with six rebounds and three assists in his high-school debut and the Spartans (1-0) held on to beat the Admirals (0-1) top open their season.
Senior Aidan Saint Louis posted 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while sophomore Brody Bell contributed eight points, six rebounds and six assists for Ocean, which built a 35-18 lead by halftime. Ahmad Ayyash — Omar’s twin brother — also chipped in four points and 10 rebounds in his first high school game.
Junior JoJo Newell scored 20 points, junior Marshall Colangelo netted 12 and junior Jack Carlstrom pitched in 11 to lead Henry Hudson.
Barnegat 42, Manchester 35
Freshman Myles Joseph scored a team-high 13 points and the Bengals (1-0) clawed past the Hawks (0-1) for a season-opening win on the road. Junior Orion Andrews carried Manchester with a game-high 17 points and 11 rebounds.
No. 4 Jackson 49, Point Boro 41
Sophomore Mi’Aire Anderson scored a game-high 19 points to go with five rebounds and four assists, leading the Jaguars (3-0) past the Panthers (0-1) for their third straight win to open their season and their new program at Jackson Township.
Senior George Boley added 13 points and six assists, including two fast-break dunks in the final two minutes to help close out the victory. Senior Randy Holmes chipped in 11 points, five rebounds and three steals for Jackson.
Senior Jovin Steinmetz scored 17 points to lead Point Boro.
Monmouth 44, Pinelands 39
Senior Michael Griffin hit five three-pointers for a team-high 15 points, classmate Jaylin Reeves netted 13 points, and junior Logan Conrade posted a double-double to key the Falcons (2-0) to a road win over the Wildcats (0-1) that gives Monmouth two straight wins to open its season. Conrade finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Junior Chris Husni scored a game-high 16 points and classmate Tyler Garcia added nine to lead Pinelands.
Toms River East 55, Lacey 32
Sophomores Tommy Intintola, Brady Gillen and Carson Frazier combined for 45 of their team’s 55 points and the Raiders (1-0) used a 29-5 second-quarter run to grab an opening-night win over the Lions (0-2).
Intintola led the way with 19 points and six rebounds, Gillen added 18 points and Frazier scored all eight of his points during the second-quarter explosion, with Intintola also scored eight in the second.
Senior Teagan Gillespie matched Intintola with a game-high 18 points to lead Lacey. Junior Kenny Monica also contributed nine points and five rebounds in the loss.
No. 3 Rumson-Fair Haven 62, Long Branch 29
Senior Drew Cavise scored 17 points and hit five of Rumson’s 10 three-pointers to lead the Bulldogs (2-0) over the Green Wave (0-1). Senior Luke Lydon hit a pair of first-quarter threes on the way to 10 points and senior Blake Ahmann added 10 points as well for Rumson.
Senior Nathan Pessoa scored 13 points and classmate Josh Da Cruz added eight to lead Long Branch.

New Egypt 62, Camden Prep 43
Senior Nolan Arnold pumped in 25 points and classmate Clyde Ferris chipped in 15 to lead the Warriors (1-0) over Camden Prep (0-1) for a win in New Egypt’s season opener. Senior Ryan Reynolds also netted nine points in the win.
Sayreville 54, St. John Vianney 42
Sam Jones scored a game-high 19 points and the Bombers (2-0) pulled away to deny the Lancers (0-1) in St. John Vianney’s season-opener. Junior Danny O’Neill scored 12 points to lead SJV, which led, 10-9, after the first quarter and trailed, 25-22, at the half.
