Class A South

Central 2, No. 10 Toms River East 1 (OT)

Junior Ilyse Ciltepe scored his second goal of the game in the 86th minute and the Golden Eagles (2-0, 1-0) picked up a big divisional win over the Raiders (1-1, 0-1) via a golden goal.

Senior Jordan Benzon served a free kick from 20 yards out into the box and Ciltepe cut in front of Toms River East goalkeeper Bobby Calvo and redirected it into the upper left corner of the goal for the game-winner.

Ciltepe gave Central a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute by heading in a long cross from senior Dillon Konfederak, which he did by beating Calvo to the ball in the air.

Toms River East tied the game in the 39th minute on a finish by senior Luke Bodziak, who ran onto a diagonal pass from classmate Tommy Renkin and finished the one-on-one chance vs. Central junior goalkeeper Kaden Stout.

 

Class B South

Toms River South 3, Lacey 1

Senior Anthony Johnson scored two goals and assisted another — all in the first half — and the Indians (1-1, 1-0) secured a key Class B South divisional win over the Lions (1-2, 0-1). Johnson assisted a goal by classmate Caden Langen to open the scoring, then scored off a pass from Langen for his first goal of the game and a 2-0 Toms River South lead.

Johnson capped the scoring before the end of the half off an assist from junior Jacob Myers. Junior Tanner Grozinski got Lacey on the board with a goal midway through the second half.
