Shore Conference Girls Basketball Scoreboard Saturday, Jan. 4

Non-Divisional

Freehold Boro 60, Southern 54

Freehold Boro held on to defeat Southern and improve to 5-1 on the season. Sophomore Olivia Batchelor scored a game-high 21 points in the victory while Senior Sayuri Penaranda added 19 points and 12 rebounds for her fifth double-double performance this season. Senior Casey Collins scored 20 points in the loss for the Rams.

No. 6 Howell 62, Freehold Township 56

Howell dodged an upset against feisty district rival Freehold Township to improve to 6-0 on the season. Sophomore Kylee Beam scored a team-high 23 points in the victory while Senior Kiera McKown added 15 points and Junior BellaRose Marino added 14 points in the win for the Rebels. Senior Gaby Parker scored a team-high 23 points for the Patriots in the loss.

Keansburg 49, Pinelands 19

Keansburg raced past Pinelands to improve to 6-0 on the season. Junior Princess Graves led the Titans with 20 points while Junior Gabriella Flanzbaum added 14 points in the win.

Marlboro 55,  Barnegat 48

Marlboro rallied from a 14-7 1st quarter deficit to hand Barnegat their first loss and improve to 3-3 on the season. Freshman Mackenzie Klatsky scored a team-high 23 points while Sophomore Nariah Henderson added 9 points in the win for the Mustangs. Barnegat Senior Emma Thornton put together one of the top individual performances of the year as she recorded a 25 point and 29 rebound double-double in the loss for the Bengals.

Holmdel 60, Toms River North 33

Holmdel Senior Mackenzie Teevan exploded with a 37 point and 13 rebound double-double performance to lead the Hornets past Toms River North. Freshman Claire Gillespie chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds in the win. Senior Angelina DeCesare scored a team-high 11 points in the loss for the Mariners.

Point Beach 52. Manalapan 40

Point Beach Senior Erin Frauenheim filled up the stat sheet in the Garnet Gulls win over Manalapan. Frauenheim finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 6 blocks, 5 steals, and 2 assists. Sophomore Brianna Libretti finished with 20 points in the loss for the Braves.

Wall 46, Ocean Township 15

Wall raced past Ocean to win their 6th straight game since an opening night loss. Senior Erynn Richey led a balanced scoring effort with 11 points while Sophomore Erin McBarron added 10 points and Senior Marisa Amitie chipped in 8 points and 5 rebounds in the win for the Crimson Knights.

Henry Hudson 34, University Charter 13

Henry Hudson put together a phenomenal defensive performance to defeat University Charter and improve to 2-3 on the season. Freshman Leah Curry scored a game-high 14 points while teammate Junior Ava Santoro added 8 points in the victory for the Admirals.

Jackson Memorial 50, Woodbury 45

Jackson Memorial battled past Woodbury to increase their record to 4-1 on the season. Junior Isabella Finer scored a game high 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Sophomore Cali Brown added 12 points and Sophomore Madison Fagliarone recorded 7 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in the win for the Jaguars.

No. 8 Rumson-Fair Haven 47, Ramapo 44

Rumson-Fair Haven rallied after trailing Ramapo 35-29 at the end of the quarter to improve their record to 4-4 on the season. Senior Sylvie Notine led all scorers with 17 points including a perfect 8 for 8 from the free throw line while Sophomore Grace Smith added 15 points and 6 rebounds, and Junior Erin Reid added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the win for the Bulldogs.

No. 7 Trinity Hall 53,  Pingry 45

Trinity Hall topped Pingry to improve to 5-2 on the season behind a 15 point and 10 rebound double-double performance from Junior Grace Feeney. Junior Whitney Hobson added 11 points and 4 assists in the win for the Monarchs.

Chatham 42, No. 5 Manasquan 29

Manasquan fell to 4-2 after losing to undefeated Chatham. Senior Ella Kreuzer who is committed to Bucknell led Chatham with 18 points while Grace Cloud added 12 points in the win. Manasquan had no scorer finish with more than 6 points.

No. 2 St. John Vianney 54, St. Mary’s (NY) 45

St. John Vianney improved to 7-2 on the season with an impressive victory against St. Mary’s (NY). Senior Aleena Dinker led a balanced scoring effort with 12 points while Junior Madison Kocis added 11 points and Junior Stella Lockhart finished with 10 points and 9 rebounds in the win for the Lancers.
