Senior midfielder Mackenzie Brotherston gave the Lions the lead for good in the fourth minute, and senior forward Natalie McGovern added goals in the 39th and 67th minute to send the Lions to a strong season-opening win over the Mariners. McGoverns’ second goal was assisted by senior midfielder Reece Paget. Junior goalkeeper Ava Schmidt made eight saves for Lacey while sophomore keeper Lena Salvaggione made eight saves for Toms River North.

Senior back Grace Crowley scored off a corner kick from sophomore forward Elle Dworzanski in the 27th minute, freshman goalkeeper Emma Mastriano made 13 saves and senior forward Izzy Alfonso converted a penalty kick in the 77th minute as the Raiders knocked off the fourth-ranked Braves for an early-season upset.

Freshman forward Emilia Janiszewski scored twice and assisted on another and senior goalie Alexa Scarpinato made six saves to post a clean sheet as the Huskies opened their season by blanking the Scarlet Fliers. Sophomore forward Rylie Signorile tallied a goal and an assist and senior midfielder Ella Frye had one assist.
Red Bank 7, St. Rose 4
Sophomore Kiera Rankl dazzled with a hat trick and junior Abigail Plattel totaled two goals and two assists when the Bucs won a high-scoring opener over the Purple Roses.
Junior Kathleen Deverin added a goal and an assist, senior Emma Ostervich scored once, senior Evelyn Alba-Rodriguez delivered two assists and junior Kate Muelner had one assist.
Senior forward Mully Cullen scored all four goals for St. Rose and freshman goalie Chloe Kaczka made a whopping 20 saves.

Rutgers Prep 3, No. 1 Freehold Township 1
Senior Gabby Parker scored in the second half for the Patriots, who fell behind by three goals in a loss to the Argonauts in a matchup of state powers.
Rutgers Prep is ranked No. 1 in the state by NJ.com and is the two-time defending NJSIAA Non-Public B state champion. Freehold Township is ranked No. 3 in the state and is the two-time defending Group 4 state champion.
Rutgers Prep played without standout striker Addison Halpern, who is currently in Colombia with the U-20 National Team. The Argonauts scored 57 seconds into the game when junior Nyla Lopez scored off a free kick from junior Alexa Lee. Olivia Robinson and Kyrah Lormil added goals to build a 3-0 lead before Freehold Township broke the shutout in the 61st minute.
Ashley Moore made seven saves for the Patriots while Jordan Reigrod made five saves for Rutgers Prep.
Allentown 2, No. 3 Red Bank Catholic 1
Junior forward Paige Foye scored once and sophomore keeper Heidi Wierman made four saves for the Caseys in their loss to the Redbirds. Allentown received goals from Julia Ciodyk and Sara Pallitto along with four saves from Danielle DeCarlo and three saves from Olivia Cieslak.
