No. 7 Howell 1, No. 4 Middletown South 0

Senior back Samantha Gold scored off a corner kick late in the first half and junior goalkeeper Leila Shaw made seven saves as the Rebels (2-0, 1-0) knocked off the defending SCT champion Eagles (2-1, 1-1) for a big early-season victory.

Freshman keeper Julianna Fiore made six saves for Middletown South.

 

Class A Central

No. 2 Wall 4, Ocean 1

Senior Erin Farrell scored twice while senior Samantha Brett and junior Madison Miller each scored once to send the Crimson Knights (3-0, 1-0) past the Spartans (0-3, 0-2) for their third straight win to open the season.

Junior keeper Madalyn Peterson made two saves and senior Erynn Richey had two assists.

Sophomore Mia Fiorentino scored Ocean’s goal and junior goalkeeper Grace Fuller made seven saves.

 

Class A South

Toms River North 3, Jackson Memorial 0

Senior forwards Erin Misa and Angelina Decesare, and sophomore Ella Felicetta each scored once while sophomore goalkeeper Lena Salvaggione made 10 saves as the Mariners (3-1, 1-0) blanked the Jaguars (0-3, 0-1) for their third straight win.

Sophomore forward Lauren Kuhn had two assists and senior forward Kiera Blum added one assist for Toms River North.

Senior goalie Gianna Berkley made 10 saves for Jackson.

 

Class B North

Shore 3, Monmouth 0

Junior forward Jenna Eichenbaum recorded a hat trick and senior goalkeeper Sofia Merten made nine saves to steer the Blue Devils (1-2, 1-0) to a shutout victory over the Falcons (3-1, 0-1).

Senior goalkeeper Amaya Harris made 10 saves for Monmouth.

 

Nondivisional

Neptune 8, Lakewood 0

Senior midfielder Rebecca Bolan notched two goals and two assists and junior forward Ellie Gomez tallied two goals and one assist to lead the way for the Scarlet Fliers (1-3) in their emphatic victory over the Piners (0-2).

Sophomore Charlotte Donaway had a goal and an assist and senior Sophia Raphalides, freshman Piper Kalfin and senior midfielder Adriana Siciliano had one goal apiece. Junior goalkeeper Angel Hughes and senior goalkeeper Kadidja Braxton made one save each to combine for the shutout. Senior forward Charlie Curto, junior midfielder Casey McGhee and junior back Alyson Reynolds chipped in with one assist each.
