SSI 2024-2025 All-Freshmen Team and Freshman of the Year

SSI 2024-2025 All-Freshman Teams

Freshman Player of the Year

Julianna Jasina, Colts Neck

In one of the deepest freshman classes in recent years, Jasina is our SSI Freshman of the Year with her strong play inside the paint. She led the Cougars  with 328 points, which was 13 points per game. Jasina also led Colts Neck with 164 rebounds. She ended the season by scoring in the double digits in 13 out of her last 14 games, including a career-high 31 points against Point Boro. In a glimpse of what the future looks like in the Shore Conference, Jasina and Neptune’s Tyeera Howard battled back and forth in the quarterfinal round of the Central Jersey Group 3 playoffs. The Cougars freshman finished with 18 points and 7 rebounds in the game. With the combination of Jasina and fellow All-Freshman selection Emily Donahue, the future is bright for Colts Neck.

All-Freshmen First Team

Kayla Matos, Jackson Memorial

Matos makes it the second straight season a Jaguar has made the All-Freshman team. She is a dangerous 3-point shooter, knocking down 39 on the season. She had five against Barnegat while scoring a career-high 23 points.

Ariana Wissen, Brick Township

Wissen is putting Brick Township on the map for girls basketball, leading a strong freshman class. She is a threat to score from the outside, finishing with 47 3-pointers, and can take the ball to the hoop. Wissen finished with 367 points and also dished out 83 assists to lead the Dragons.

Mackenzie Klatsky, Marlboro

Klatsky led the Shore Conference in 3-pointers made with 87 and finished with a team-high 368 points for the season. The multi-sport star had six games with six 3-pointers on the season. Klatsky also played an important role on the defensive end, finishing with 76 steals.

Jesse Sarana, Manchester

Sarana helped form a strong 1-2 punch in the backcourt for Manchester this season and finished with 328 points, 148 rebounds and 81 assists, which was a team-high. Sarana scored a career-high 22 points against Middletown North to start the season and scored 18 points in Manchester’s upset win over Cinnaminson.

Tyeera Howard, Neptune

Howard, who missed half the season due to injury, returned to the court running. Usually if you miss half the season you will not make a postseason team, but that is the impact she had. Howard helped Neptune win 11 out of its last 13 games of the season, including the Central Jersey Group 3 title. Howard finished with 209 points, which came to 13.9 per game, and 134 rebounds.
