VOTE: Broad Street Dough Co. Week 9 Girls Soccer Player of the Week
Each week, Shore Sports Insider will give the fans of the Shore Conference a chance to pick the Player of the Week sponsored by Broad Street Dough Co.
Below, we have selected 10 players from last week who played in the NJSIAA Tournament — all of whom are candidates in this week’s contest. Read about the 10 nominees from the last two weeks (Nov. 4 through Nov. 9) and vote at the bottom of the post for the one that deserves to be the overall Girls Soccer Player of the Week for Week 9. Vote once per hour until the poll closes Thursday at 10 p.m. The winner will receive a $25 gift card courtesy of Broad Street Dough Co.
State Tournament Players of the Week, Opening Week
11/4 to 11/9
Lexi Sinatra, Fr., M, Red Bank Catholic
Sinatra had a great debut in her first state playoff game of her career. She was able to score the equalizer off a free kick by Tess Beams in the first half for the Caseys. Sinatra followed that with the golden goal for RBC just 26 seconds into overtime against rival St. John Vianney. She made a cut to get inside the defender just inside the 18-yard line and beat the stretched arm of the SJV goalie.
Gabby Kirchner, Sr., M, Point Beach
Kirchner is one of the best playmakers in the Shore Conference and continues to help Point Beach in their attempt to make it to their third straight Group 1 final. In the opening two rounds she has scored six goals and has one assist. In the opening round she had a hat trick and an assist and followed that with a hat trick in the second round against Roselle Park.
Jenna Eichenbaum, Jr., F, Shore
Eichenbaum has had a great start to the Blue Devils Central Jersey Group 1 run. She has four goals and an assist in their first two games. In the opening round she scored 2 goals against Bound Brook. In the quarter final round she was involved in every goal as Shore upset the No. 2 2 seed Brearley 3-2. She finished with two goals and an assist in the Blue Devil victory and her second goal ended up being the game-winner with less than ten minutes left to play.
Addison Frulio, FR., GK, Central
Fruilio continues her fantastic rookie season, coming up with big saves and not getting rattled in tight games in the South Jersey Group 4 sectional. In the opening round, she made four saves in a 1-0 shutout against Vineland. Fruilio followed that with six saves in a 2-1 victory over Williamstown.
Anna Martin, JR., GK, Trinity Hall
Martin came up big in the quarterfinal round of the South Jersey Non-Public A sectional, making two saves in the shootout to lead Trinity Hall to victory. She made 12 saves in 100 minutes against No. 3 seed Notre Dame. In the opening round, she made five saves in a shutout victory for the Monarchs.
Ella Cook, S0., F, Jackson Memorial
The sophomore exploded in the first two rounds of Central Jersey Group 4, scoring five goals and adding an assist. In the opening round, she scored a hat trick against Ewing in a 3-0 victory and followed that with two goals and an assist against Red Bank in the quarterfinal round.
Brooke DeAlmeida, Sr., M, Brick Memorial
DeAlmeida has returned to form in the right part of the season for Brick Memorial. She scored the Mustangs’ first goal in the Central Jersey Group 3 quarterfinal round to help them defeat Steinert 2-1. DeAlmeida caused problems for Steinert’s defense throughout the game.
Samantha Brett, Sr., M, Wall
Brett has been causing problems for defenses over the last two weeks of the season. In the opening round of the Central Jersey Group 2 she had an assist against Monmouth in a 3-0 victory. She scored the game’s first goal in the quarterfinal round to put Wall up 1-0. Wall would defeat Allentown 2-0 to advance to the semifinals.
Daniella Butash, Jr., M, Manalapan
Butash has caused problems for opposing defenses in the first two rounds of the Central Jersey Group 4 sectional. In the opening round, she scored two goals against rival Marlboro in a 3-0 win for the Braves. In the quarterfinals, she scored one goal in a 3-2 victory over No. 3 seed Howell to help Manalapan return to the semifinal round.
Bea Tinoco, Jr., F, Middletown South
Tinoco has returned from injury with a bang. She scored five goals and had one assist in the first two rounds of the North Jersey Section 2, Group 3 sectional tournament. Tinoco scored a hat trick, her second of the season, in the opening round of the sectional. She followed that with two goals in the quarterfinal round.
