Coaches Cup Player of the Week nominees
10/14 to 10/26
Olivia Gehman, Colts Neck
Gehman has played a big part in Colts Neck’s resurgence in the second half of the season. The senior scored in all four games in the Coaches Cup, finishing with seven goals and three assists. In the championship game, she scored two goals and had one assist to lead the Cougars to the title.
Aylen Peters, Holmdel
Peters has played an important role this season on Holmdel’s offensive side of the ball. In the Coaches Cup opening round, the freshman assisted on both of Holmdel’s goals in a 2-1 victory. Peters followed that with a goal and an assist in a second-round win over Ranney.
Gianna Talarico, St. Rose
Talarico’s play in goal was a big reason why St. Rose made it to the Coaches Cup final. In the opening round against Brick Township, she had six saves and followed that up with 10 saves in a 2-1 victory over Barnegat. Talarico kept Raritan scoreless for 100 minutes in the semifinal round and made four saves in the shootout to lead St. Rose into the championship game.
Shea Patmore, Freehold Boro
Patmore helped the Colonials reach the Coaches Cup semifinal round with four goals in two games. In the opening round, she recorded a hat trick against Long Branch and followed that with one goal against top-seeded Raritan. The sophomore reached double-digit goals on the season, becoming the first Freehold Boro player to hit that mark since 2017.
Kylei Grant, Barnegat
Grant helped Barnegat win its first-round game by scoring twice in a 3-1 win over New Egypt. That was her second two-goal game of the season.
Carina Szorosy, Raritan
Szorosy scored the game-winner in the second half to send Raritan into the Coaches Cup semifinal round. It was the freshman’s 12th goal of the season to lead the team in scoring.
