Shore Conference Tournament Semifinals

(3) Red Bank Catholic 1, (2) St. John Vianney 0

Senior pitcher Lily Hagan threw a gem for the Caseys (18-3) as they knocked off the rival Lancers (13-2) to advance to the Shore Conference Tournament Championship. Hagan struck out 5 batters and allowed just 1 hit in a complete game. Freshman 1B Mackenna Savage did all the damage early as she crushed a home run to left field in the top of the 1st inning as the second batter of the game. SS Nicole Knox went 1 for 2 with a double and a HBP. Seniors Sophia Lasater, Lana Rudolph and Hagan each hit a single.

Junior pitcher Madison McDougall struck out 9 batters and allowed 5 hits, 1 walk, 1 hit batter, and 1 run in the loss for the Lancers. Freshman Lexie Csotnos hit a single on a line drive to right field to break up the perfect game in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Red Bank Catholic will host (5) Colts Neck on Monday night at 7 p.m. at Count Basie Field in the Shore Conference Tournament Championship.

 

Class C South

Lacey 6, Toms River South 4

Freshman Sophia Capone went 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBIs as the Lions (9-8) topped the Indians (8-12). Arianna Linke went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Senior Samantha Kohout had an RBI single. Sophomore pitcher Bella Byk struck out 9 batters and allowed 4 hits, 2 walks, and 2 hit batters in a complete game win.

 

Nondivisional

Howell 15, Brick Memorial 1

Senior pitcher Lydia Ziegler struck out 5 batters and allowed 5 hits, 1 walk, and no earned runs as the Rebels (12-7) pulled away from the Mustangs (9-9). Howell led 5-1 before adding 4 runs in the 6th inning and 6 runs in the 7th innings. Senior Keira Murphy went 4 for 5 with a triple, 5 RBIs, and 3 runs. Senior Emily Richards hit a double with 2 RBIs.
