Toms River North 4, No. 5 Marlboro 1

Senior Christian Wagner scored the lone Toms River North goal of the first half and senior Brady Gillman scored twice in the second half as the Mariners (3-6-4) doubled their goal total on the season with a breakthrough performance against the Mustangs (4-3-3).

Wagner scored off a feed from senior Nick Gallipoli and junior Chris Ruggiero scored what proved to be the game-winner off a pass from junior Tim Wengender. Gillman’s two goals capped the scoring and came off assists by freshman Michael Green.

 

Non-Division

Point Boro 4, Point Beach 0

Senior Joe Doles assisted two of the four Point Boro goals by four different players and the Panthers (6-6-1) shut down the Garnet Gulls (8-4) in a battle of crosstown rivals while pushing their winning streak to five.

Doles set up the first two of Point Boro’s three goals in the first half, with seniors Dean Cardia and Jake Greene taking care of the finishing end on both. Sophomore Colin Leschinski added a goal in the 37th minute and senior Doug Walsh capped the scoring in the 75th off a pass from Ben Scott.

 

Non-Conference

St. John Vianney 7, Union Catholic 1

Seniors Mason Boles, Isaiah Boone and Ethan Bellone each scored two goals and Boles also dished out three assists to lead the Lancers (5-4-4) to a road win over the Vikings (3-7-2).

Boone also provided an assist, while sophomore Ethan Eddleston scored the last SJV goal in the 62nd minute, which came on Boles’s third assist.
