Toms River North 48, Matawan 40
Junior Jackson Sias scored 16 points and the Mariners (1-0) closed the game with a 12-0 run over the final five-plus minutes to secure a season-opening win over the Huskies (0-1).
Sias scored 10 of his points in the first half and sophomore Jake Greenberg poured in nine of his 12 points during the third quarter to keep Toms River North within striking distance, down 35-34, heading to the fourth quarter. Junior Wes Tanner scored five of his nine points in the fourth to aid the Mariners’ strong finish.
Senior Colin Reitman scored a game-high 19 points to lead Matawan, all of which came in the first three quarters. Senior Trevor Cole added nine points in the loss.
No. 4 Jackson 51, Red Bank 47
Senior George Boley scored nine of his game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter and the Jaguars (2-0) rallied to steal a road win from the Bucs (0-2). Boley gave Jackson the lead for good with a drive to the basket with 2:10 remaining, which pushed the Jaguars in front, 44-43.
Junior Justin Valentino led Red Bank with 13 points and eight rebounds and also hit a three-pointer with three minutes to go that gave Red Bank its final lead, 43-42.
Senior Mi’Aire Anderson added eight points, senior Randy Holmes had six and senior Yaseer Johnson scored all five of his points in the fourth quarter for Jackson. Senior Vin Niesz poured in eight points off the bench for Red Bank, which also got six points apiece from senior Josiah Johnson, senior Bennett Lopez and sophomore Randy Peterson. Peterson also hauled in eight rebounds in the loss.

No. 1 CBA 70, Paramus Catholic 33
Junior Avery Lynch poured in a game-high 20 points and senior Connor Andree and sophomore Izayah Cooper added 12 apiece to lead the Colts (2-0) to a convincing win over the Paladins (0-2). Lynch connected on three of CBA’s nine three-pointers and junior David Buley buried a pair on the way to nine points.
Keyport 64, Calvary Christian 61 (3OT)
Senior Kai Arrington scored 20 points and the Red Raiders (1-0) outlasted Calvary Christian (0-2) in triple-overtime to pick up their first win of the season in their 2025-26 opener.
Senior Jermaine Bardon threw in 12 points and senior Casey McCarthy and junior Demetrius Attia each added eight for Keyport.
No. 5 Southern 60, Cedar Creek 57
Junior Noah Perna scored 22 points to go with seven rebounds and three assists and the Rams (1-0) held off a fourth-quarter push by the Pirates (0-1) to grab a victory in their season-opener.
Senior Jake Sliwinski added 15 points, six rebounds and six assists for Southern, which outscored Cedar Creek, 31-13, during the second and third quarters to take a 43-29 lead into the fourth.
Senior Reality White and junior Barnegat transfer Gavin Gerckens each chipped in six points for Southern, with Gerckens also grabbing seven rebounds and blocking three shots in his Rams debut.
