Red Bank 50, St. Rose 40
Senior Josiah Jackson and sophomore Randy Peterson each struck for 10 points and the Bucs (6-7, 1-2) rode a balanced scoring effort and a solid defensive performance to a win over the Purple Roses (1-10, 0-3).
Peterson also grabbed eight rebounds, while senior Bennett Lopez chipped in nine points and junior Will Galligan contributed eight points, five assists and three steals for Red Bank.
Senior Tyler Cameron scored a game-high 17 points and classmate O’Rien Campbell added 12 to lead St. Rose.
No. 6 Manasquan 41, Holmdel 36
Sophomore Sean Bilodeau hit a pair of tie-breaking foul shots with 1:44 left and the Warriors (7-4, 3-0) went on a free-throw-fueled, 10-2 run over the final 3:30 to upend the Hornets (4-4, 0-3).
Bilodeau’s free throws gave Manasquan a 36-34 lead that the Warriors would not give back and were part of a 10-for-14 shooting performance from the line over the final 3:23 that carried the game-ending, 10-2 run. Manasquan’s last field goal of the game was a driving layup by sophomore Luke Winn that gave the Warriors a 31-30 lead with 4:55 left.
Senior Jack O’Reilly led Manasquan with 12 points and junior Logan Cleveland added seven. Sophomore Anthony Serini matched O’Reilly with 12 points to lead Holmdel, while Hornets senior Jack Vallillo scored all nine of his points in the fourth quarter.
Class A Central
No. 5 Howell 74, Manalapan 53
Junior Jay Parker scored a game-high 20 points and the Rebels (7-2, 2-1) pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat the Braves (3-5, 0-3) in convincing fashion.
Junior Noah Musto poured in 19 points and senior Cayden Parker pumped in 18 for Howell, which outscored Manalapan, 18-6, in the fourth quarter to break open the game.
Senior Pat Hearn scored 12 points to lead Manalapan, while junior guard and College Achieve transfer Joe Farino netted 11 in his first game of the season after sitting the first 30 games of the season. Freshman Josh Sosinov chipped in 10 points for the Braves, while Howell limited Manalapan leading scorer Dean Aviles to four points on the evening.
No. 8 Freehold Twp. 55, St. John Vianney 54
Junior John O’Neill hit a running floater as time expired and the Patriots (7-4, 2-1) dodged an upset bid by the Lancers (3-9, 0-3) by prevailing in a wild final final 100 seconds of the game.
St. John Vianney junior Nicky Mejia hit a go-ahead three-pointer from seven feet beyond the top of the arc with five seconds remaining to give his team a 54-53 lead. After two timeouts, Freehold Township sophomore Aamari Monroe-Alexander pushed the ball up the floor and flipped it to O’Neill on the left-side of the floor. The 6-foot-4 junior drove toward the basket and flipped up a floater just before the final buzzer sounded and it dropped through for the game-winning points.

Mejia also hit a go-ahead three-pointer to give St. John Vianney a 51-50 lead with 1:38 to go before junior Jake Schultzel answered with a putback to give Freehold Township back the lead, 52-51. Junior Sam Hawksby later hit one of two free throws with 30 seconds left to extend the Patriots lead to 53-51.
O’Neill led Freehold Township with 17 points, with Schultzel throwing in 14. Mejia and fellow junior Justin Togans also scored 17 points apiece to lead St. John Vianney.
No. 2 Wall 65, Middletown South 43
Senior Brian McKenna scored 15 of his game-high 19 points in the first half to go with eight rebounds and the Crimson Knights (9-0, 3-0) absorbed an early flurry of three-pointers by Middletown South to upend the Eagles (8-3, 2-1) for their ninth straight win to open the season.
Junior Donovan Buist dropped eight of his 12 points in the second quarter, during which Wall outscored Middletown South, 18-4, to take a 32-19 halftime lead. Senior Dan Hennessy added nine points and seven rebounds for Wall.
Middletown South made it to the end of the first quarter with a 15-14 lead thanks to three-pointers by four different players. Freshman Evan Wells led the Eagles with 11 points and senior teammate Matt Trimble added 10.
Class B North
Colts Neck 37, No. 9 Marlboro 32
Senior Liam Collura scored the go-ahead basket on a drive into the paint with 50 seconds to go and both sophomore Nate Sloane and senior Dillon Younger buried a pair of free throws to put the game on ice as the Cougars (6-3, 2-1) clawed their way past the Mustangs (7-3, 1-2).
Collura and fellow senior Andrew Tonkavich each finished with nine points to lead Colts Neck, with Tonkavich scoring all of his points in the first half. Sloane netted eight points for the Cougars, who outscored Marlboro, 16-5 in the second quarter to take a 21-15 halftime lead.
Senior Drew Lubeck scored nine points and junior Nolan Gong added eight to lead Marlboro.
No. 4 Red Bank Catholic 70, Freehold Boro 45
Senior James Hankowski and junior Ryder Ciorciari combined for 38 points and 12 three-pointers as the Caseys (9-2, 3-0) scorched the nets with 16 three-pointers on the way to a road win over the Colonials (5-5, 1-3).
Hankowski and Ciorciari each hit six three-pointers, with Hankowski scoring a team-high 20 points and Ciorciari chipping in 18. Junior Gavin Biasi scored all 11 of his points — including three three-pointers — during the third quarter, during which RBC hit seven of its threes. Senior Ryan Saxton also threw in 10 points for RBC.
Senior Mike Cush led Freehold Boro with a game-high 28 points, including five three-pointers.
Ranney 74, Middletown North 50
Junior Andrew Mardahaev led four Ranney scorers in double-figures with 18 points and knocked down five of his team’s 14 three-pointers as the Panthers (5-5, 3-1) shot down the Lions (2-7, 0-3) on the road.
Senior Shaan Nayar hit four threes en route to 15 points, while junior Alex Heyser added 11 points and classmate Ben Schaeffer chipped in 10 points, six rebounds and four assists for Ranney. Sophomore Jordan Rue also contributed six points, five rebounds and four assists in the win.
Senior Jack Dambaugh scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Middletown North, while junior Steven Huynh added 11 points in the loss.
Class B Central
Monmouth 58, Neptune 49
Junior Logan Conrade scored a career-high 28 points and hauled in 12 rebounds to lead the Falcons (7-2, 2-1) past the Scarlet Fliers (2-7, 1-3). Senior Ahmir Wiggins poured in 18 points for Monmouth, which started the game with a 14-5 first quarter and closed it with an 18-10 run over the duration of the fourth.
Senior Jordan Pierre scored 17 points and classmate C.J. Evans chipped in 15 to lead Neptune, which grabbed a 26-23 halftime lead thanks to a 21-9 advantage in the second quarter.
Ocean 62, Raritan 40
Freshman Omar Ayyash scored 19 points and junior Justice Hodges drained 17 to lead the Spartans (7-6, 4-1) to a one-sided road win over the Rockets (3-7, 0-3). Ayyash and sophomore Brody Bell each hit four three-pointers, as Bell finished with 12 points to help pace Ocean.
Junior Eric Berg led Raritan with 15 points.
Matawan 43, Long Branch 42
Senior Colin Reitmann hit a pull-up floater to give Matawan the lead with 25 seconds left and the Huskies (6-5, 4-0) held on to pull out a win over the Green Wave (3-7, 0-3) after struggling to score for most of the fourth quarter.
Long Branch held Matawan scoreless from the 1:28 mark of the third quarter until 1:59 left in the fourth before sophomore Cayson Williams hit a pair of free throws to end the cold spell and ignite a 9-1 run by the Huskies over the final two minutes of the game.
Class C North
Shore 51, Asbury Park 32
Senior Finn Watson scored 12 points and classmate Andrew Barham threw in 10 to lead the Blue Devils (7-3, 3-0) past the Blue Bishops (0-8, 0-2). Senior Ny’John Kirkpatrick led Asbury Park with a game-high 15 points.
Henry Hudson 69, Keansburg 38
Junior JoJo Newell went off for 34 points and three other Henry Hudson players scored 10 points to help the Admirals (6-4, 2-1) hammer the Titans (4-4, 0-2). Senior Billy Quinn and juniors Blakely Smith and Masio Tucker each chipped in 10 points for Henry Hudson, which outscored Keansburg, 20-9, in the first quarter and never looked back.
Sophomore Taurian Black led Keansburg with eight points.
Class C South
Brick 56, New Egypt 53
Junior Jamel Pitts poured in 17 points and the Green Dragons (2-9, 1-1) outlasted the Warriors (6-5, 3-1) on the road to tighten up the Class B South race by handing New Egypt its first divisional loss.
Sophomore Jaylen Johnson threw in 12 points and junior Ryan Tufaro dished out six assists to go with his seven points for Brick. Junior Sean Nausedas and senior Erik Valera each chipped in eight points in the win as well.
Senior Clyde Ferris scored a game-high 21 points and classmate Nolan Arnold added 15 to lead New Egypt.
Non-Division
Brick Memorial 72, Manchester 40
Senior Sean Collins scored 18 points while pulling down seven boards and sophomore Luka Begashvili went for 16 and seven as the Mustangs (6-6) rolled to a win over the Hawks (3-9).
Senior Jason Lajara added 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Brick Memorial. Junior Orion Andrews scored 14 points and sophomore Justin Roberts pitched in nine to lead Manchester.
Point Boro 73, Lacey 42
Junior Hunter Hynes scored 26 points and senior Jovin Steinmetz poured in 19 to lead the Panthers (6-4) to a win over the Lions (2-10). Senior Dean Cardia dished out six assists to go with six points for Point Boro.
