At Ivy Hill Park

No. 5 Red Bank Catholic 10, Hanover Park 1

The Caseys (3-2) broke a 1-1 tie in the 3rd inning, scoring five runs and added another four in the 4th inning to win a non-conference game against Hanover Park. Sophomore Mackenna Savage continues her great season on the mound, striking out 17 batters and not allowing an earned run. Sophomore Brooke Rodriguez drove in three runs on two hits and Grace Grimaldi had two hits and scored three runs for the Caseys. Junior Grace Lombardi  went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and a stolen base.

No. 1 St. John Vianney 4, Columbia 1

Senior pitcher Madison McDougall struck out 14 batters and allowed just one hit and one hit batter as the Lancers (5-0) topped the Cougars (4-2). Senior SS Gabby Gonzalez hit a two-run home run. Junior Mia Favato went 2-for-4 with two RBI’s. McDougall went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double.

No. 2 Donovan Catholic 10,  Immaculate Heart 0

Donovan (6-0) scored seven runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to add to their 1-0 lead to beat Immaculate Heart (4-2) in a non-conference game. Junior Isabella Cino hit a double and drove in four runs for the Griffins. Gylian Hixenbaugh struck out 11 batters in the shutout victory.

Mount St. Dominic 16, No. 4 Colts Neck 0 (4 Innings)

Stephanie Coonan Challenge

At Raritan High School

No. 9 Raritan 6, Woodbridge 5

Trailing 5-1 going into the bottom of the 6th inning, Raritan (4-2) scored two runs in the 6th and three in the 7th to come from behind and win the non-conference game in the Stephanie Coonan Challenge. Sophomore Brielle Brosonski singled to center to score Madison Regiec to win the game. Holly Bellofatto and Lila Houlihan both hit home runs in the game and drove in two runs for the Rockets. Junior Payton Fleming struck out 11 batters to earn the victory.

Freehold Boro 16, Toms River North 0 (4 Innings)

Freehold Boro (6-0) scored in all four innings to remain undefeated after defeating TRN (3-1) in the Stephanie Coonan Challenge. Vanessa Karabin and Paige Sheridan both drove in four runs each for Freehold Boro. Sheridan finished with a triple and a double while Karabin hit a double and single and scored two runs. Karabin also struck out three batters in the shutout victory.

No. 9 Raritan 8, Spotswood 2

Toms River South 11, Matawan 6

Toms River South (3-2) scored five runs and held off Matawan (2-3) to win a non-divisional game at the Stephanie Coonan Challenge. Sophomore Mikayla Lindemann went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI’s for the Indians. Senior SS Ella Fischer went 3-for-4 with three doubles and also drove in two runs and Maddie Keller hit two triples, driving in three runs.

Matawan was able to cut the deficit to two, 8-6, after scoring four runs in the bottom of the 3rd, but was shutout the rest of the game. Freshman Alexis Wilk hit her first career home run and drove in two runs for Matawan.

Patriot

Neptune 27, Long Branch 13

Freshman CF Nora Weber went 2-for-4 with two walks and seven RBI’s as the Scarlet Fliers (1-2, 1-2) won a high-scoring affair against the Green Waves (0-3, 0-3). Freshman C Miah Quarles had a hit, four walks, and three RBI’s. Freshman 2B Meghan Rogers had a three-run single. Sophomore Kameira Johnson went 2-for-5 with a walk and three RBI’s.

Non-Division

Pinelands 17, Lacey 2

Leading 4-2 after the 1st inning, the Wildcats (2-4) scored 10 runs in the 2nd inning to win a non-divisional game against the Lions (1-5). Junior Kendall Falduto went a perfect 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI’s to lead Pinelands at the plate. Pinelands hit a total of four home runs in the game with Audra Daniel and Jozlyn Peterson both going deep. Daniel drove in three runs and Peterson drove in another two for the Wildcats. Sophomore Rory Krier struck out eight batters to earn the victory.

Freshman Savannah Wilkins went 2-for-2 with a double and RBI for Lacey.

Howell 24, Point Boro 7

After building a 3-2 lead going into the top of the 3rd inning Howell (3-3) scored seven runs in the 3rd and eight runs in the 4th inning to win a non-divisional game against Point Boro (1-3). Junior Nicolette Caronia drove in five runs and had a double to lead the Rebels. Senior Madison Winemiller and sophomore Katelyn Murphy both scored four times and drew a combined seven walks in the game. Freshman Gianna Lisi struck out nine batters to earn the win for Howell.

Freshman Mackenzie Ferwerda went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a RBI and Jadyn Clayton hir a double and drove in two RBI’s for Point Boro.
