Freehold Township 2, Marlboro 1

Senior Jackson Redmond struck out the last seven batters he faced and the Patriots pushed across the winning run on a two-out error in the top of the seventh to overcome the Mustangs and a dominant, 16-strikeout outing by junior Mark Risi.

Ed Gudaitis hit a slow ground ball to the right side of the infield with two out and Marlboro could not convert it into an out, allowing pinch-runner Tommy Sciarra to score the tie-breaking run from third base. Bradley Santoro was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning before giving way to Sciarra as a pinch-runner. Sciarra stole second base and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Julian Polo.
