Manchester 5, Pinelands 0

Senior Muiz Aderogba delivered an opening-day hat trick and the Hawks coasted to a shutout win over the Wildcats to open up their 2026 campaign. All three of Aderogba’s goals came in the first half, including the opening goal in the third minute off a pass from senior Evan Beam. Eleven minutes later, Beam converted a pass from Cole Sarma to extend the lead to 2-0.

Aderogba scored his second and third goals five minutes apart. He put Manchester up, 3-0, in the 33rd off an assist from junior Patrick Allen and sent the Hawks into the half with a 4-0 lead on a 38th-minute goal off a Gabe Almazo assist. Junior Jayden Villar capped the scoring off a pass from classmate Colin Degnan in the 50th.

Lacey 2, Toms River South 1

Junior Paul Guerriero buried the game-winner off a feed from sophomore Tristan DeRosa in the 79th minute and the Lions pulled out a road win over the Indians to open their season with a dramatic win.

DeRosa also opened the scoring with a goal in the fourth minute off a long cross from junior Aaron Estelle and in the final two minutes, he drew a pair of defenders before hitting Guerriero with a pass that set up the junior for a shot just beyond the penalty spot in the middle of the box.

Toms River South equalized on a penalty kick by Guiseppe Raso in the 36th minute after a handball in the box against Lacey. Lions senior goalkeeper Dylan Graham was spotless outside of the penalty kick, saving 10 Toms River South shots in the victory.

Barnegat 3, Brick Memorial 1

Senior Nate Scisco forced an own goal to tie the game in the opening minutes of the second half, then buried the tie-breaker in the 65th to lead the Bengals to a comeback win on the road over the Mustangs.

Brick Memorial struck in the 37th minute on a goal by junior Matt Heptig, which sent the hosts to halftime with a 1-0 lead. Freshman goalkeeper Landon Hahn kept the Bengals off the board with four first-half saves, but his own player broke up the shutout in the 37th, when Scisco ripped a shot that hit off two Mustangs defenders before landing in the left corner of the goal.

In the 65th, Scisco beat the Brick Memorial defender on the right side, angled in toward the right post and slammed a high strike to the near-upper corner of the goal for a 2-1 Bengals lead.

Senior Connor Glines tacked on an insurance goal in the 73rd minute by running down a pass from senior Jacob Yudman and knocking in a deflected shot.

Freshman Ian Soberano saved five shots in his first varsity game in goal for Barnegat. Brick Memorial played most of the game without senior striker and 27-goal scorer Nate Stryker after he sustained a hamstring injury in the third minute of the match.
