Moorestown 37, Colts Neck 35
The Cougars (23-7) fell to the Quakers (22-9) after an exceptional comeback attempt came up just short. A three-point attempt from sophomore guard Emily Donahue went halfway down and out in the final seconds of the game.
Colts Neck trailed by as much as 23-11 in the second quarter before beginning their rally. They cut the deficit to 23-17 behind an individual eight-point run from sophomore forward Allison McAndrew. Moorestown would ahead again with a 27-17 in the third quarter before Colts Neck came all the way back to trail 30-29 at the end of the third quarter.
Moorestown took a 37-35 lead with 1:09 remaining on a bucket from senior forward Analyse Intenzo. Colts Neck turned the ball over and then Moorestown was able to hold the ball from the 55 second mark down to 15 seconds. The Quakers missed two free throws which setup Donahue’s potential game-winner on the final possession.
Intenzo, a Fairleigh Dickinson commit, scored a game-high 18 points for the Quakers. She also broke the all-time Burlington County record for three-pointers.
McAndrew scored a team-high 15 points in the loss. Jasina added 12 points.
The future is very bright for the Cougars who graduate one senior in Gabriella Bryce but are projected to return the rest of their team.
