Middletown South (1-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and controlled the game with strong defense the rest of the way in a win over Red Bank Regional (1-1). Junior Anna Stumberger, Senior Caroline Bedetti, and Freshman Ashley Penn each scored 2 goals while Junior Abigail Gallagher added 1 goal in the win for the Eagles. Sophomore Hayley Jamison dished out 2 assists while Senior goalie Anna Weise recorded 3 saves.
For Red Bank, Freshman Maddie Pierson, Junior Kate Meulener, and Junior Karlie Ruland each scored 1 goal in the loss.
Rumson-Fair Haven 17, Southern 10
Four hat tricks helped Rumson-Fair Haven (1-0) defeat Southern (1-1) in a high scoring American Division contest. Senior Rachel James scored 3 goals and dished out 2 assists. Seniors Kat O’Connor and Kendall Carcaterra each scored 3 goals and dished out 1 assist. Senior Daisen Iwan scored 3 goals. Senior Mia Milkowski scored 2 goals and recorded 4 assists while Sophomore Reese Lydon scored 2 goals and Sophomore Chloe Kelly scored 1 goal and recorded 1 assist. Sophomore Sydney Kiernan recorded 4 saves in the win for the Bulldogs.
For Southern, Senior Avery Smith scored a single game career-high 9 goals including her 100th. Senior Delaney Falk scored the other goal in the loss for the Rams.

Central 11, Toms River North 1
Freshman Addison Frulio exploded for a career-high 6 goals to help lead Central (1-1) to its first win of the season over Toms River North (0-1). Senior Ryann Dunn added a hat trick with 3 goals while Senior Samantha DeMarco and Sophomore Logan Lisewski each added 1 goal in the win for the Golden Eagles. Senior goalie Morgan Schinder recorded 2 saves for Central.
For Toms River North, Senior Tiffany Judge scored the lone goal in the loss.
Manalapan 10, Barnegat 4
Sophomore Aryelle Stein led Manalapan (2-0) past Barnegat (1-1) with a strong, six-goal, one-assist effort. Junior Charlotte Paulin scored two goals and dished out one assist while sophomore Alexa Bernardini and Junior Madison Alcantara each scored one goal in the win for the Braves.
Sophomore Ella Tortorici scored a team-high 2 goals for Barnegat while Juniors Skyler Perry and Lizzie Medina also scored 1 goal each for the Bengals in the loss.
Holmdel 9, Wall 8 (OT)
Holmdel (2-0) won an overtime thriller against Wall (0-3) behind a 5 goal and 2 assist performance from Freshman Ryann Buchan. Junior Avery Dubin and Sophomore Charlotte Wall each added 2 goals while Senior Tessa Pinnero recorded 2 assists and Senior Ava Munafo recorded 1 assist. Junior goalie Victoria Imburgia recorded 11 saves in the win for the Hornets.
For Wall, Junior Skylar Ignatowicz scored 2 goals and 2 assists while Junior Ella Schaible added 2 goals and 1 assist and Senior Erynn Richey scored 2 goals. Senior Kirra Leonard and Sophomore Isabella Breen each scored 1 goal in the loss for the Knights.
Toms River East 8, Point Boro 6
A 3 goal and 2 assist performance from Senior Grace Crowley helped lead Toms River East (1-0) past Point Boro (0-1). Sophomore Kacey Briles scored 2 goals for the Raiders. Freshman Ciley Francis scored 1 goal and 1 assist. Senior Brooke Brattole and Junior Allison Momm scored 1 goal each. Senior goalie Gianna Addesso and Junior goalie Angelina Murray each recorded 5 saves.
6 different players scored goals in the loss for Point Boro including Junior Francesca Skowronski, Sophomore Lucy Hauser, Senior Kayden Cilento, Junior Lily Scalabrini, Sophomore Aubrey Gilbert, and Sophomore Reilly Wahl.
Constitution
Red Bank Catholic 13, Ocean 11
Senior Malia D’Alterio and Sophomore Alexandra Rogers led Red Bank Catholic (2-1) past Ocean (0-2). Both players finished with 4 goals and 1 assist. Senior Molly Fox added 2 goals and 1 assist while Freshman Valentina Corba added 2 goals and Freshman Rylie Bender added 1 goal. Sophomore goalie Cecilia Granatelli recorded 7 saves in the net for the Caseys.
For Ocean, Junior Maddie Kirchner put forth another tremendous offensive effort scoring 8 goals while Junior Brooke Todd added 3 goals and Senior goalie Christina Azimov recorded 19 saves in the loss for the Spartans.

Ranney 8, Long Branch 6
Junior Kennedy Poser scored a career-high 7 goals to lift Ranney (1-0) past Long Branch (0-1) on opening day. Sophomore Alexa Herbst added a goal for the Panthers while Freshman goalie Marisa DiNapoli recorded 8 saves in her debut.
For Long Branch, Senior Romina Revelo and Junior Lauren Maxwell each scored 2 goals while Senior Roselin Reyes-Lopez and Junior Luiza De Oliveira each scored 1 goal. Junior goalie Giana Anechiarico recorded 15 saves in the loss for the Green Wave.

Marlboro 8, Howell 7
Senior Kammi Haeusser’s 4 goal and 1 assist performance led Marlboro (1-0) to an opening day victory over Howell (0-1). Four other Mustangs scored goals including Junior Hayden Paling, Sophomore Elizabeth Stellato, Junior Molly Chodos, and Senior Sarah Gold. Junior goalie Haley Alexander recorded 2 saves while Sophomore goalie Emily Bustamante recorded 3 saves in the win for the Mustangs.
For Howell, Senior Isabella Acevedo-Feldman scored 4 goals to continue at a pace toward 200 career goals. Junior Kendall Bleakley scored 2 goals and Sophia Schwark scored 1 goal in the loss.
